omfg who gives a shit how they pronounce the r, or the fuken ch, just listen to these 3 beautiful singers, and Im just wondering, are you moaners here to comment on pronunciation or to watch and hear them singing, yep thought so neither of the above.
@SoldierFortune23 I think it was easier for him than German. I believe he also sang Strauss's "Wiegenlied" (lullaby) in English while the other two sang it in German.
@Aaronthegreatest xD He did pretty good! His German pronunciation is excellent, and so is Jose's. I never heard Pavarotti sing in German, though. I think it was too difficult for him to learn.
@Aaronthegreatest Sorry, but Mr.Domingo's german pronunciation is NOT good, and his English pronunciation is TERRIBLE. I know because I know both languages. Don't get me wrong, I love his singing. I'm just being objective about his pronunciation.
@124235346 You don't have to be sorry for your opinion lol. I'm not sure why you're replying to me though, because I didn't even make the comment--2 guys replying to me did. I just love Domingo's signing voice. But I think we should leave it to native speakers to critique an opera singer's pronunciation, students of languages don't always pick up on accents well.
@124235346 Sorry, but I have to disagree, besides the rolling of the r (which is still done in Bavaria today) his pronunciation was very good, if anyone mispronounced the lyrics it was Carreras. I know because I don't only speak German but lived there for many years.
@124235346 In addition, he pronounced the "ch" perfectly which is quite hard for non-native German speakers to pronounce, unlike Carreras who pronounced it "k".

I just love the fact that they gave Pavarotti the english version. But, aside from that, he still has the voice to shake the soul.
