@TigerChild0698 TKD is a fine place to start, most people who do martial arts practice multiple styles. So go ahead and do it, you're lucky to be able to get started. I'm envious of my friends who have years of experience already. I'm in college and getting into wushu (performance styles of kung fu) and sanshou (Chinese kickboxing) but wish I had the opportunity earlier. Even if in the long run you stop doing TKD that's fine, the experience will be helpful.

Tae kwon do isn't that difficult I'm a black belt 1 degree only but in both karate and tae kwon do... theyre both just simplified versions of Chinese martial arts because korea and japan when they saw chinese martial arts were like that's too flashy... that's why chinese martial arts are so complicated they require so much more skill imo that is

Take advantage of your father's experience and let him teach you; after about five years, you can re-evaluate whether you're getting what you want out of a martial art out of Tae Kwon Do.

@L96Arcitc Well one of the traditional principles of Asian martial arts is that a touch to the right place should be enough to finish a fight... only great masters like Ip Man could've done that though. I read somewhere that Ip once beat a boxer in seconds. They probably just dramatized the whole movie to add interest and suspense.
