  • in soviet russia weight lifts you!! lol

  • Nice!!!!

He had a 400KG back squat!

  • Yes and inches deeper than a "powerlifting" partial squat. Olympic lifters train for top strength at their weakest point, which is enhanced by going as low as anatomically possible. It enhances low height clean ability.

  • I hear ya on a lot of these wide stance, multi ply suited, powerlifters. I do not agree with those squats. I love old school lifters. Still, there are some powerlifters who squat low. Still, I agree with you, my friend.

  • Try this one. Place appropriate weight on bar resting on support arms in power rack at very low level. So low that you can barely squat low enough in front position to "roll" the bar onto shoulders. Rise from pinned start position. What a test of true leg (and hip) strength.

  • Technique has a lot to do with this. This was his second attempt at this weight, and the way he lifted it here, you would wonder how he not lift it the first time, and possibly attempt a world record on his third attempt. I have never seen anybody lift 250kgs that easily and that quickly.

  • watch rezazadeh, he did it like it was fuck all

  • Keep in mind,Kurlovich was nearing the twilight of his sports career.Injuries became more rampant, being a bit out of shape, among other things.Kurlovich was 27 years old at the time.Even the elite lifters go through technique flaws. Reza Zadeh did on his 1st attempt with 263.5kg in Athens. Technique must be perfect when going near maximum. Kurlovich did a successful unofficial 270kg Clean and Jerk(5.5 lbs from that 600 lb mark). He,among Taranenko,Alexeev, and Reza Zadeh are the closest to that.

  • I have great respect for Reza Zadeh choosing to remain representing Iran in the sport when Turkey was willing to offer him big money to represent Turkey,I think a true devout Muslim.

  • ya true elite level lifters work extremely hard on their technique Hanging lifts, Lifts from boxes and all sorts of technical workouts generally at 70-85% of their max

  • yeh and rezazadeh was 40kg heavier

  • @ArthusfromBelarus wrong, rezazadeh would beat Taranenko ;-). He male 263kg look easy and he out snatches Taranenko ;-)

  • @chadcite The Taranenko's record C&J is 266kg and 475kg in total his records never been a beaten=)

  • @ArthusfromBelarus rezazadeh never had to go beyond beyond 264kg to win but he does out snatch Taranenko by 3 kg. Judging by the way he makes those clean and jerks I don't think in a hypothetical match up Taranenko could beat him. Definitely not in the snatch. Yes he does have him in the total, but no one could challenge hosssein for him to put up a bigger total compared to the age of super elite heavy weights Taranenko lived in.

  • @chadcite Now in Belarus grows a new generation of big weightlifters who can beat and make a new records, i think we will dominating in close future in big categories=)

  • @chadcite kurlovich

  • TEchnically excellent, great lift, thanks

  • What about Taranenko aswell, he did 266.5kg that year like it was nothing!

  • Anatoliy Pisarenko as well

  • rezazadeh and him are the only 2 guys in history which makes their cleans look so easy, incredible.
