  • what would it cost to hire some one to spray the gunite after i have it all wired and re bared. a small florida pool like 12 by 25 or so.

  • i just find it hilarious how trevor7578 and sleavington1, mainly trevor7578, is trying really hard to insult the work that the guy is doing just because he's mexican! that trevor guy saids that he has some videos saying of "professional" work and yet he doesn't want to add the links! it's obvious he's a joke and is pathetic! that other guy is talking about the guy is doing his job, who cares! everybody does it differently! not everyone is trained the same! but i'm glad to hear you like your pool

  • @quackinator1 I hate to say that guy is a white guy. White boys in phx get good tans

  • Amazing! I was watching a Travis Barker video and ended up here! lol!! :) Anyway, watched the pool making vid...hope all is well! Would love to see a vid of the finished product!!

  • i work for Doherty pool n spa in Easton, Mass we do Gunite. My fathers our nozzleman and hes the best in the Northeast. Hardly ANY rebound when he does it Im the rebounder so its great for me. I agree with Trevor this guys makin a mess just look at the wall hes got goin on behind him. There seems to be no forms and It doesnt look like the steels bricked up and the returns arent level and so on. some hacks out there man

  • So do you think there will be issues soon then?

  • well if your pools not leakin I'd say you'll be alright. My comment was more for pride in how it gets done. its says it was done a year ago so your probably good. if it hasnt popped outta the ground or is leakin your fine. have good one dude, peace

  • It is also under warranty for an additional 5 more years, paid for warranty, not the free kind haha. Its legal and obligatory.

Thanks for your info, no leaks as far as I can see. definitely no freak accident of popping out of the ground either haha.

  • @sleavington1 WE in the west coast use wet process, we have no "rebounders". It's a little different process. For a decade in Phoenix Our crews shot a minimum of 3-4 pools a day, 6 days a week. So trust me , if we had problems we would know. The steel is blocked out and tied back under the form to prevent fall outs.We dont have many guniters out here thanks to the wet process. It just makes more sense for use to use shotcrete.

  • @sleavington1 Do you know what is halarious? We get the call to go to the "northeast" to shoot pools. Why do west coasters have to fly to the east coast? We know what we are doing otherwise i would not have been certified by the ASA and ACI as a nozzleman. I have been to toronto and detriot to shoot pools because we are effective in shotcrete and they didn't want to use dry-gun.Not little jobs either. Apparently there are hacks everywhere. My certifier was Chris Zynda.

  • You look like you're taking a piss through your arm.

  • Kinda does, doesn't it. That is actually not me though.

  • good hosies dont need steel trev. guys nuts with his footwork tho

  • What do you mean? I am wanting to learn all about this stuff.

  • Read Shotcrete for the Craftsman available through the American Concrete Institute. His technique is highlighted under what not to do. Extreme rebound will result from the technique shown in this video.

  • Well, reading in a book and doing something are two completely different things. I do not know your skill level, if you are even qualified to say these things, or if what your saying is even true. But i have a fine looking pool in my yard, and the SHOTCRETE is great!

  • worst guniting technique I have seen. this guy has no idea what he's doing.

  • ok. care to elaborate. because my pool still works and looks great. and they were quick and got it done right..

  • I will add the quickest pool builders are usually the worst. Many corners are cut to enable the speed. There are terrible pool builders that take a long time too. But speed is no way to rate a pool builder's great quality. I know from massive amounts of experience. Most pool builders have no idea what they are doing. Or worse do and choose to cut every corner under the sun.

  • My pool builder is very good though, they build for pro ball players, like from the Phoenix Suns, and the Arizona Cardinals.

Also, this was not gunite ... This was shotcrete construction. I don't know the difference but I know there is some.

On top of that, they took 3 months! and did a phenomenal job!

check them out. Desert tropics pool's deserttropics (dot) com

  • Pro sports players are notoriously cheap and tend to always pick the worst contractors available. Not the brightest bunch. I'm telling you for a fact you did not get quality construction. I will look for some You Tube video of quality pool construction (if I can find any and will give you the link). I will not post any of my own work because I don't need to educate my idiot competitors. I will show you someone else's work if I can find quality. So far it's mostly very bad on You Tube.

  • Where is the form work for this pool??? A quality pool would have more than a strip of masonite around the top of the pool. No way to keep the steel stable. Steel work looks suspect. Normally there would be substantially more form work supporting the steel. And it would only be masonite on the radius areas. The straights would have 2 x 4's. Never ceases to amaze me what most pool companies get away with with a cheap price to get them in the door.

  • wow thats heaps of pressure

  • yeah, the guy says if I put my hand in the way then it will be like getting a tattoo because of the presure. It will inject into my skin if I had done that which, is dumb, but funny!
