What do you think would happen it two lasers hit eachother? nothing they would pass right through eachother, that makes two dead jedi.

The laser would keep going at the intensity required for the heat. with Lasers, lightsabers cannot exist. Plasma however is closer in theory, two plasma fields will react like a negative and a positive field of a magnet and could bounce and clash. Plasma's length can also be manipulated and Plasma can be much much much hotter then a laser.

So I guess i shouldnt say its physically impossible, but more so very very very slim chances of them being built. Plasma has not even been harnessed to the point of making it into a weapon. Scientists have made a window made of plasma before but it was very hard to do and less then a quarter of an inch in size

You might want to do some research on the theory behind the principles of the 'light saber'. It's not a laser, by any means. It's a beam of energy, projected thru and controlled by a special crystal. The form of energy is capable of repelling 'like' energies (hence, the 'solidness' of two beams making contact with each other and the ability to 'deflect' energies from other energy weapons). Even so, weapons like a lightsaber would be very useless in combat. since not everyone has freak of nature reflexes like jedi, they couldnt block plasma shots or bullets. However the way you describe how a lightsaber is made, it is very unlikely and a needless/complicated way of doing it. Crystals just don't do that. Plasma is our best bet. Plasma's color can be controlled. and it is the closest thing to lasers depicted in such movies like Star Wars

once my hand gets better. i broke my knuckle in an olympic style match back in april, and i cannot twirl it any better. also to all you who say that im not a martial artist, SUCK IT.
