even though godsmack was somewhat influenced by aic. They did not steal the name from an aic song...Back before they had a name the original guitarist had a cold sore and sully made fun of him. The next day sully had a cold sore in the same spot and it was the same size and everything. Then one of the band members said "Looks like god just smacked you". Then they all paused and said "thats our name 'GODSMACK'". its in Sully's book "The Paths We Choose"
