  • a lot of fishs in such a little tank

  • One if my favorite YouTube videos!! Thanks for posting

  • this guys not gay, his boyfriend is

  • I don't know about using the dishwasher. I enjoy scrubbing the ornaments. That way I can visibly see the results. I should do a tutorial one day on cleaning a fish tank lol!

  • EW

  • how many gallons is this tank??

  • I really like aquaclear filters, they use biological media which elimates the need for expensive charcoal cartidges

  • There's never a magical way of doing it ;( ahaha

  • awesome vid.

  • how many litres ?

  • what a lovely tank 10/10 very informanitive

  • @Txdave01 your tank looks crowded! Looks like you may need a bigger tank!

  • I keep tropical fish and i would never use a razor blade its to risky for the glass and fish try a strong squeegee it will come off easy i find that using a razor blade you could scratch glass or even if a fish swims buy there is always a chance it could come near the blade.

  • @icebeamz will not scratch if you dont use the edge only use the sides. Most people in the car business even use it on windshields to clean. Make sure it has water. If you are afrade sure use something else. Old socks work best

  • @Txdave01 im looking in to going to marine tanks next have you decided to do this or just sticking to tropical?

  • Step 1:

    Buy a pleco.

Results: Keep your lazy ass on the couch.

  • @SageZane560 Love that idea. Just what my tank needs another fish.

  • you wouldn't use a razor blade with an acrylic aquarium, right? they scratch easy

  • @seattletaytay old socks work great

  • i was thinking abut getting pet fish.. until i watched this. effortttt :P

  • @MrDingDongPong Yep its a hobby and work I will agree, but when the day comes and your friends and family all are sitting in your living room saying , "WOW", it 100% worth it

  • why not just use some kind of squeegee for the sides?

  • @Saucetin11 There is no one road .Many ways to do somthing. Squeegee sure try that if you like keep with it, razor blade, paper towel if in a pinch, or I like old socks.

  • I thought this was very helpful!! Thanks!

  • You need plastic fish in your tank!

  • I feel too dizzy @_@

  • cool idea

  • @KlassickVideo A razor blade has been suggested for decades on glass aquariums. Plastic blades for acrylic tanks. I like your idea of using a credit card [preferably expired one], although it's hard to beat the effectiveness of a razor blade. Sponges alone, do not provide enough friction for well established algae embedded on the glass panels. Sure, it's risky and you could certainly cut yourself. But you could also just just buy a metal blade paint scraper and achieve similar results.

  • Nice looking aquarium. Those tin foil barbs are real beauties. Long life span I recall as well.

A simple little bristlenose or rubber lipped plecostomous would do wonders on that green algae. Those plecos. stay reasonably small as well and relish a piece of zucchini and spinach, which the barbs and silver dollars also like, once the algae runs out. The barbs and silver dollars would likely not pay it much attention and bristlenose plecos. are quite resilient. Just a suggestion.

  • @Jason99942 Yes, I had them for about 7 years in that tank, They got to big, I set them up across the street and she has them now for 2 years. She has others that are over 15 years old. Tin foil barbs ROCK.

  • what kind of filters are those?

  • @destr0yer41 Whisper power filters. Get only at a pet store NOT THE ONES at walmart. Walmart the motor in in the tank. Pet stores ones have it in the back. Open up the package and make sure before you buy.

  • there's just no magical way of doing it. LoL

  • whats the gallon of ur fish tank?

  • to many fish dumb face

  • I use a magnetic glass cleaner....

  • doesn't the razor blade scratch your glass?

  • @neil2090 the razor won't scratch the glass, however it could scratch the glue that hold the tank together off. So, probably not the best idea, also, if you cut yourself in the tank, you could get a serious infection especially if you're dealing with turtles.

  • they are fake plants. right ?

  • yeah

  • to many fish in there :P

  • magnetic glass cleaner is safer

  • i just bought a mag float.

  • you dont clean it , you put 10 spoons of salt in in and start a new one when everything dies

  • @fishingman636: maybe ur tank is overstocked? Cuz if it has too many fish, you will have lots of waste, then cleaning the tank once a week is too much. I think u should sell your fish, emty out the tank, and set it up again... Let it run and cycle for like two weeks(without fish) then put about 2 fish at a time in the tank

  • tem quantos litros esse aquario

  • i have the exact tank and was wondering how do you keep your tank so clean. i have only have 4 fish and is so dirty. i clean it once a week and still dirty. and i do the exact same thing as you do except i have one filter thats it. is that y its still dirty

  • I have a very simple solution. Get an algae eater

  • how many gallons???

  • Hi, I have just got my first Aquarium and have been checking on how many fish to have, how to prepare, what tempreature and so on. I have a 35 gallon tank and have just prepared it. Really looks bare!! Your video has really helped me and i enjoyed your enthusiasm and the really nice house btw! One thing i was curious about, is it safe to dip your hand in the tank as you do? I worry myself with things like that as my sister once killed my gold fish with dirty hands then again she was painting lol

  • When You Said It's Like "Veggies" Does That Mean There Suppost To Like Them ? !

  • This is a 55 gallon, yes?

I'm a college student and want one, but my mom says it may leak and the landlord will evict us.

  • what a creepy smile and bags under his eyes

  • the easiest way to rid of the algae is to get a pleco

and I hope that razorblade is stainless steel cause the rust will kill them

  • the easiest way to rid of the algae is to get a pleco

  • thanks this was a very informative video I cleaned my tank all by myself and saved myself lots of money, Thanks TxDave01

  • instead of using a razerblade, use the magnetic algae cleaners so you don't have to shove your whole hand in there.

  • @FunkyBambelina 1st I check the water for Amo, Nit, and nitr and ph. all are perfect. this means that its not over stocked as the fish have been in there for over 7 years and did fine. Second the tank has ZERO gold fish therefore they can not be outnumbered.

  • @Txdave01 I agree that your tank is overstocked. Having perfect parameters does not necessarily mean your not overstocked. It is about swimming space as well. The silver dollars you have should really be in a 6 foot tank as they are known to be scared easily and ram themselves into the walls of the tank. they also like to be in schools and i doubt your tank can hold that many silver dollars. Your tank really shouldnt have that many tinfoils either. Not trying to be mean. Just some info

  • I just clean my fish tank because i had some big gold fish that just die and i do not know that they die from i got more small gold fishes and i brough some stress coat.

  • @7772regina Gold fish like cold water. There is a number of reasons that the fish could of died.. Did you remember to float the fish for 30 minutes in the plastic bag before releasing them in the water. ??? Gold fish general rules. keep the water cold. I keep all of mine at 58. The range is 56 - 72 is a good number. Feed only four times a week.

  • @Txdave01 i like your acent

  • @MrNaru210 Thanks, now if I could just meet a person that would date me that would say the same. Any people out there with a London acent??? I AM ON THE MARKET.

  • @7772regina Ammonia or nitrite build up. You need a proper fish tank filter. And don't keep many goldfish in a tank because that speeds up the nitrification process.

  • its gets really scary when he grabs the razor blade

  • what type of hang on the back filters do you have

  • @RussianSpetsnaz0123 Whisper 3 from a petstore with the motor on the back not the ones from walmart with the motor in the water.

  • @Txdave01 and r those good cause i have a penguin bio wheel 350 and its rele good but also might get a whisper filter only if there good

  • @RussianSpetsnaz0123 which is is top fin/whisper 60 today

  • There's no magic way to do it.

  • Your like the modern day Mr. Rogers, Just with your personality. Thats good though needs to be more people like you.

  • Too many fish!!! tank not big enough....

  • Great video! Very informative! Beautiful tank and house man!

  • do you use a dishwasher tablet or let it work with just water? Will there not be a residue of the dishwasher cleaning materials on the plants and rocks?

  • 5:00 to 5:03 is hilarious i must say

  • Why the hell are you using fake plants

  • @TheLauraster cause they dont die and becasue the fish wont eat them, and I like them....LOL

  • I'd say a little over stocked

  • What kind of fish are they ? Im not wanting any just wondering ;)

  • Thanks for the video. It was very informative and helpful. :)

  • Won't the bleach affect or poison the fish?

  • GREAT EXPLAINER AND DETAILED ABOUT CLEANING TANK.

  • That plants is plastic right?

  • DUDE UR TANK LOOKS REALLY NICE I CANT BELIVE ALL YOUR PLANTS ARE FAKE!

  • Red hook is the larger ones, the others with the red tails are called Tin Foil Barbs. They start off all silver then as they get older the tail turns red.

  • @Txdave01 Can i put icecubes in the tank, im getting goldfish on christmas. Need info

  • @HiImDave12 tap water is cold enough.

  • could some one tell me the name of that fish who had red tail

  • dude your fish tank is beautiful. I really like how you decorated it. Good job and thanks for the info

  • I like your red-hook silver dollars!

  • thank you for demo-ing how to get the suction going on the gravel cleaner, i always get frustrated trying to figure that out :)

  • do you have a partner or live by yourself?

  • shouldn't you turn all the electrics off before you put your hand in? :o nice tank and fish btw :)

  • LOL you remind me of Mitchell from Modern Family.

  • You look funny ^.^ lol but whatever you helped alot my turtle tank is getting full of algae and if I put any algae eater it will be eaten lol

  • Thank you! :)

  • Jinger

  • @THEDROPPER805 ginger

  • ok i dont have gravle i have sand how can i clean that cause sand is such a dam effort it just sucks the sand up n 2 do that i gotta empty the whole thing move the fish in to a diffrent tank empty the 250L beast, soo is there a easyer way of doing this?? and i have a very good algy clean up control, i never get agla cause of the 20 srimps and butters i got ^^

  • @pk16U Same way. once the sand in in your bucket or a large clean trash can, dump out the dirty water and then the sand will sink to the bottom. remove the sand and replace it in the tank. or you can you can use your hand and shake the sand in the bottom this will stir up the sand and your filter will remove the dirt and then just do a water change without messing with the gravel cleaner / for sand.

  • @Txdave01 are those PACU or PIRANA?? at 0:13 i believe PACU

  • @SuperAaaaa123456 their silver dollars, but their called red hooks.

  • @Txdave01 whats the size and dimension of tank?

  • @pk16U I just got a food strainer and had it at the end of my hose where the strainer would catch all my sand

  • @pk16U 250 L and beast dont go in the same sentence lol thats tiny..

  • How often do you clean your tank? and how long you tank each session? I wanna get myself a aquarium but the cleaning seems tedious...

  • I just did the bleach and dishwasher clean to my rocks. Perfection!!! Thanks for the good advice!

  • Thanks

  • are you gay?

  • @naq231 yes

  • @Txdave01

    jajajajajajaja

  • @Txdave01 Seriously? You don't look like a gay,

But i don't care what you are just always do what you liked

  • Two things I learned in this videos:

    1) How to clean a fish tank

    2) How dishwashers work

  • what kind of camera do you have i like it

  • @RussianSpetsnaz0123 The camera is a Flip camera. Its was about $120 bucks at Best Buy. You can get a used one on e-bay or a pawn shop in the range of $49 -75.

  • @Txdave01 Wow I loved your video, I have used the dishwasher as well to clean my plastic plants and my other tank ornaments. I have about 4 tanks and a makeshift garden pond using a swimming pool I had lying about which I used as a sort of experiment and it is working out great. I have, like you a school of tinfoils in there with koi and goldfish. Being down south I have the luck of being able to keep tropical's outdoors in the summer. Give me a holer back if you want to talk fish :)

  • i dont have dish washer ...can i use by machine wash ( i mean cloth washing )

  • @MYLENEFARMERgaultier . I dont understand your question. If you dont have a dishwasher. Simply allow the rock and plastic plants to sit in a bucket of water and bleach over night, outside. Then wash off in the sink. Place items in the tank and use a good product stress coat .

  • you look funny lol

  • @saveryanplz ( Yes I did.. I was allowing my hair to grow long and I was using a hat most days. I guess it was my Donnald Trump bad hair day.) My hair is much better now

  • @Txdave01 I like your tank. Why not buy a snail or two to clean the algae.

  • nothings magic lol

  • Hey gr8 aquarium...... gr8 vid...watched all 3 of them. i just have a quick question.....where did u get the rocks for ur aquarium... i wanna landscape simmilar to ur but am uncertain where i can find rocks....

  • hi dave!, i have a used 30 gallon tank, i need a new filtration system and that, but i was wondering do i have to use anything spicial to clean it?

  • One question, do you need a siphon to clean a 10 gallon tank ? thx

  • @aquriachick YES.. 100%.. remove 25% of the water using a gravel siphon cleaner

  • thanks it help allot

  • Very helpful. Thank you!!

  • Very helpful. Thank you!!

  • Great vid. Love the tinfoil barbs

  • You use chemicals for the dish washer! that would kill the fish. The chemicals from the plants and rocks would get in the water

  • awsome stuff dude

  • where did u get the plants

  • what filter are you using im having a problem with mine its misty so im looking for another filter thank u

  • 5:00 is my favorite part!

  • I say TxDave01 has one of the best Video's on YouTube on how to clean a fish tank.

  • the tank too me looks overstocked but my friend it looks amazing overstocked :L

  • i never have that problem in my tank my water just gets extremely dirty. how often do you have to change your filters?

  • will the fish be able to live in that tank forever

am not an expert just wanted to know

  • @prowrestlingcarny

The fish in his tank are roughly full grown , Even though it does look overstocked ..

His fish could live like this forever but a bigger tank would be way better in my opinion

  • Its Working

  • you are awesome!!!!! THANKS SO MUCH! :) do you have any suggestions on clearing up cloudy water?

  • you are awesome!!!!! THANKS SO MUCH! :)

  • man cool tank and btw thanks for the dishwasher tip :)

  • is there a magical way of doing it??

  • how many gallons are cleaning if you were to clean a 60 gallon per week?

  • @TheLudo12345 No it doesnt, just make sure you dont use the corners of the blade.... youll be fine

  • haha nice accent!

    (no insult intended)

  • are you gay ???

  • @ShammSkeenx012 . You can if you wish. I have found that with the water that I have from the tap, and the fish that I have that I dont have to.

  • Comment removed

  • Hi, I have a 60 gallon tanks, can any1 suggests me amount how many times per week should I clean the tank (water change and gravel cleaning)?

  • @Praveen501 In most cases once every two weeks. I clean my tanks gravel every week due to the number of fish that I have.

  • @Txdave01 Thanks a lot.

(Sorry I mistyped my question and skipped some words but even thought you understood what I meant.) Thank you.

  • Nice, but what if I do not have fish, yet? You see I am getting ready for fish they're coming next week so I need to have everything ready, what do I do?

  • @Sunshine98745 Put stress coat in. Have a filter, Heater, and air pump. Then watch the video and clean away.
