  • I felt it a tiny bit when this was being inserted in my arm but i felt it when she unlocked it out. Then she nurse was going on about how my skins tough xD

  • argh feel sick have awful needle phobia!!anyone have any awful side effects?I am breastfeeding and this seems like the only option that doesnt fill my son full of hormones..xxx

  • wish they had something like this for guys so i wouldnt' have to use condoms to be sure.

  • I'm getting mine today I'm so scared!

  • I just got mine today and it was completely painless, Except a slight burning when they put the numbing meds in! But other then that everything went perfect and painless.

  • It can't be no worse than contractions!

  • i didnt get numbed wen i had this done earlier -_- but ill be honest, didnt hurt as much as i thought so theres no worries for it :)

  • I have implanon i dont like it i gained alit of weight n no matter wut i did or how much i worked out it i cant lose weight My hormones drove me crazy i was depresed n angry all da time i didnt knw wtf was wrong wit me

  • Thanks for the video. I now know what im in for. it has been very helpful :)

  • Today I have a little bruise but otherwise it feels alright - no pain whatsoever. This type of contraception is so convenient for me because I absolutely Hate condoms and am too irresponsible to remember to take the pill, so yeah, I highly recommend this, ladies. :)

  • I got this done yesterday, and I hadn't seen the videos of this process before. Just to make sure I don't pass out, I wasn't looking at what was being done to my arm, but today I felt curious and decided to see this. Yes, the only painful part was the anaesthetics injection but after that I did not feel a thing, and was surprised that it was over in a blink of an eye.

  • I know it looks awful but I promise all of you, after the numbing shot (which is only like a small pinch), it really DOES NOT HURT at all. Did not feel a thing.

  • @Vioanna4

hi can i ask you about the side effects like weight gain, pimples, do you still get regular periods. i have been thinking of getting one for a while, i have been on the pill for a while but its not working for me because i am a forgetful person and i forget taking it all the time and that has led to 2 unplanned pregnancies but its all good. i would love to hear from a person who has experience instead of a doctor thank you

  • I'm glad this video is here because I gt mines in 2 days and I was scared too

  • I got it today. Now there are bruises on my arm and it hurts like hell. it was awful. im gonna take the pill when i get this out.

  • just got this today, its painless after they num it every girl should get this it last 3 years and you can take it out anytime and when they take it out its painless as well.

  • Im getting one in two weeks bit creeped out now >.<

  • im having mine removed in 2 weeks i had mine out in june the 6th this year the putting in looks painful and discusting on the vid but the worse bit is the numbing bit and the rest is unfelt but mines not worked for me and im geeting some problems so it has to go and im so scared about having it taken out

  • oowwww! X(

  • Im getting mine in today.. in about 20 minutes. I wish I didnt see this now...

  • I had this done yesterday..And i have to say...Bein a total wimp myself...It wasnt bad atall...Yh the anaesthetic stung a little...But it was literally soo quick i thought the doc was lying when he said it was done...Happy i got it now...Its a lil bruised n sore but oh well...Im sure ill survive...n life goes on :) Best thing is...is that u can totally freak squeamish people out with it :) Hurrah!!!

  • I am hopeing to get it done hope it doesnt hurt to much

  • I am hopeing to get this done but i dont do well with pain hopefully it doesnt hurt to to much :(

  • I'm 15, had this done today, the numbing needle hurt, but not as much as I expected.

The big hollow needle didn't hurt one bit, but I could feel it under my skin, it was so weird, since it was painless but I felt it being pushed in.

The doctors put the bandage on WAAY too tight, my arm lost all blood and went purple and black. I got sent home from school because they were worried, but my dad loosend the bandage, and then it ached really bad, but now its fine :>

  • got this done a day or two ago. The lidocain injection stung, there is A LOT of tugging when they put the barrel in and then it is sore and tender and aches a bit. I had to keep my head turned away however it's not any more uncomfortable than if you get an IUD or have a PAP smear. It's really not that bad. It looks worse than it actually is.

  • @sunmaidliz I didn't get any numbing before they put it in my arm >.<

  • does this need to be removed after 3years or does it just dissolve or something?

  • @Amily6 It has to be removed :)

  • @Amily6 It needs to be removed by a doctor usually about 2 years and 11 months after first getting it. :)

  • i've just had mine done today, but with the Nexplanon. You can only feel when the local goes in, nothing else apart from a little tugging. if you're thinking of getting it don't let this video put you off! xx

  • its almost ganna be a year that ive had the implanon.. i LOVE IT :) !!!

  • Getting this done next week. I threw up watching this. They're going to have to strap me to that table.

  • hmm im getting this later on today, slightly wish i never even looked at this :|.

  • so, i'm fifteen and got this done yesterday, i actually didnt feel a thing! the only problem is that it's so pain free that you forget it's there, hence me bashing it and the bruising to increase. dont be scared, it seems like a great method!

  • A well done procedure.

  • how does the implant effect your menstral cycle? I have only known one person with it and it completly stopped. Has anyone heard any complaints about this implant. and what is it made out of to an prevent allergic reaction.

  • bout to get this done probably shouldnt have watched this ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • I made sure to watch the procedures for both insertion and removal before i made the decision to get mine done. I felt nothing, just a little itching the next few days, a little ache in my arm from time to time. Nothing terrible. I felt nothing while it was being done, but my cousin was in the room and she watched! I'm glad I got it done, I dont have to worry about pills, shots, or patches for three years!!

  • watching this I was literally looking at the screen like this :O.....

    :(

  • Does NOT hurt whatsoever. (And I am COMPLETELY afraid of needles.)

  • Lol I got this done today. I'm SO glad I didn't watch!

  • OMG!! I'm getting this done on Wednesday. Im so freakin scared now! I didnt know the needle was gonna be that big! Maybe I should go back to IUD....

  • Oh man i thought about getting this but after seeing this video im not so sure...

  • Omg... I'm totally nervous now!!!!

  • to the people that have gotten this:

what are yall's side affects? im getting this done also but i dont want to gain a lot of weight or get acne, does this happen to most people? and one of my friends is on birth control and she got really big areolas, really big lol. but i dont want that either so can anybody tell me if you experienced this?

  • omg im getting this done next month and now Im scared lol

  • @mscdoll88 I'm going on Tuesday.. gng.

  • @mscdoll88 lol you and me both! Watching this was a very bad idea for me haha

  • i should of watched this after i got it.

  • Does work good

  • It's okay me laughing because I got it done then watched this... but mine is due out May next year after having it in for three years.. I watched the video of it being removed and I'm not amused. Looks even worse then it going in!! Arghhhhh lol

  • i got this done today, i had no clue what was being done! doesn't hurt at allll. just the anesthesia burns for a second of course.

  • Yep it doesn't hurt, just a bee sting feeling for a quick second. just got mine removed yesterday...

  • I just got this done today! It doesn't hurt at all. If you have ever gotten your ears pierced with a needle gun, the anesthetic for me felt the same, burning / stinging wise.

After they anesthetic use the make sure they leave you alone for 5-10 minutes. My nurse injected me and came back after 10 minutes and it is completely pain free! :)

  • i have this but geting it out today beacuse i am geting marrie dand i want to have kids

  • Glad I watched this AFTER I already had it done...I didn't watch while they were doing it

  • I done this last 29 months. Now I'm really scare to take if off.

  • @hippo1414 im getting this done soon because i have doubts about my current birth control. i dont mean to be a creep but would you say its worth getting to avoid getting pregnant? im sorta paranoid.

  • i'm getting this done tomorrow....OMG!

  • can not watch. oh lord.

  • I just got it done a couple days ago. It's not that bad, the anesthesia is the bad part! It hurt bad but then it started working and I couldnt feel anything anymore. Just don't look! :)

  • had mine yesterday, but i was knocked out because i was having another procedure.. it made my stomach tense when i saw it

  • Honestly, the most painful part of this is the initial injection... dont be scared :]

  • 2 days til i get this. 0-0 scared.

  • omg im getting this done on the 5th july. im gonna cry! :'( i felt sick watching this :(

  • I got mine done and the injection at first didn't work so i felt everything:/:/

  • @hannahjustyne ouch!!!

  • i had this done yesterday,

watching this, i dont think i would have, but i didnt watch.

    you cant feel anything though

  • 0.43 hurts like a bitch.

  • It was fine and was over quickly...

  • Isaw this video a couple of months after i got mine, i wanted to no what it looked like cuz i was tok scared to look when they were puting it in my arm lol

  • That is fricking disgusting. Nearly threw up watching that, and i didn't even get past the needle bit. No way in hell am I having that :|

  • jesus! ya i was considering it buuttt.. i really dont think i could handle :(( IUD it is i guess lol

  • I am getting this done Tuesday! I am completely horrified and so sick as I hate needles and all kinds of medical stuff. My gyno said its the best thing to control my problem hormones, but I dont want to get it at all : (

  • i had this done yesterday the injection is more painful then the thing itself

  • I had Nexplanon put in yesterday and couldn't believe how pain free and fast it was! The local anaesthetic stung a bit but no worse than having a blood test and after that I didn't feel a thing.

  • i had this done over a year ago and i've just watched this and i was actually nearly sick!

it doesn't hurt at all though! the aneastatic is the worst bit but only stings for a little bit like an injection! so glad i didn't watch this before i had it done lol

  • i got this done and it didnt hurt at all.i was watching it be done on me as i watch this video it looks painfull.

  • i got this a few days ago. the sorest part was the antistatic injection. didn't feel the implant doing in at all. it's now pretty bruised and a bit sore though but i'm sure it'll get better

  • i did this today ! the lokal anastetic hurt a bit but not bad at all, then i did not feel anything, my whole arm was nump for 5 hours :P even 2 fingers xD

  • Does it have side effects of low sex drive? I've completely lost mine from being on The Pill after a months use. I'm worried it wont even come back :/

  • I have nexplanon now and I had implanon before, the implant inserters for both implants are different.

  • I'm getting this in a week. i was a little scared and now i'm a little more scared. needles suck! but hopefully i dont feel anything with the numbing! and hopefully i have no issues with it!

  • I had this done 2 days ago.. For sure didn't watch but the feelings were so not bad! The local antistatic worked wonders although it did burn for a second.. But the actual huge needle, I didn't feel it- well maybe a tiny poke but that's from when they injected it- more so scared me for a second lol. I hope it's worth it! Little sore now and it's interesting.

  • getting this in 2 days... im now scared shitless :( :L but kinda feel a bit reassured because everyone else in the comments are saying its okay..

  • okay so, I'm having this done on friday.

I made a mistake watching this video but I'm curious as to see how it's done.

I'm PETRIFIED of needles, is there any tips any one can give me of how to calm the nerves?

    thanks.

  • its amazing! id recommend it to anyone! havent gained weight have no period dnt break out and NOT PREGNANT! its aweome! it stings a bit but thats it!!!!!!!!

  • Does anyone know if there is any side effects on this and if u feel any pain after it's done? ;/

  • Considering getting this done - has anyone had problems with weight gain though? How many pounds have you put on after having it done?

  • Lawl.. ppl are feeling bad because of this tiny procedure. And to the person said 'sadistic'. Picayune and negative ppl.

  • @Pokeluss Twas a joke, hyperbole, my lovely. And frankly I was kinda boasting that mine was much more a walk in the park. Far quicker than this one... hence the sadism jibes.

  • omg

  • Im getting this done in a few a days Im so scared now from looking at this video!!

  • I had this done a few days ago, the nurse showed me the device they use to put it in my arm, it was NOT a big needle like object, instead it was a plastic rectangular thing and all she had to do was apply pressure and press a button! Didn't hurt at all, removed my dressing today, bruising is quite bad but thats normal! :)

  • i'm getting this done in a few days... i think i'm gonna barf

  • Mine was a million times quicker I swear. Is this woman sadistic?

  • I had this done the other day and i wanted to see what happened by watching a video because i was too scared to watch the other day.

i have a low pain threshold and i get seriously nervous around needles and i found it to be not that bad at all but thank god i didnt watch.

    ewwieeeee needles!!!!!

  • Had this done today and it didn't hurt at all, not even mildly uncomfortable. I have no patience and had a peek a few hours after the procedure and the hole hasn't completely closed yet. I took the absorbant dressing off and put on a waterproof one so I can shower. I was expecting really bad bruising cos I usually bruise really easily, but there's only a tiny thin line bruide appearing. So far I'm impressed - will be even more so if I'm lucky and my periods stop altogether

  • i had this done and it didnt hurt but watching this made me cring a little bit. this thing is great so far ive had it 2 years.

  • so THAT'S what she did to me!?!

no wonder she told me not to look.. :S

  • Does it hurt after just like a normal needle?

  • after it is removed does it affect your chances of having children in the future?

im 16 & want this done soon but i still want kids in the future will it affect my chances after the 3yrs at all?

  • @MsSupernaturalfreak1 they say you are able to get pregnant quickly after it i removed. =]

  • @MsSupernaturalfreak1 no, once it is removed you can have kids right away.

  • I had this done yesterday, and watching the video is probably 10x worse than actually having it done.

  • @SkaraMog i hope so im getting it done soon

  • does anyone know how long before the medicine is effective?

  • @fbrebel If you get it done while you're on your period, its effective immediately, otherwise, its becomes effective after one week (you should use a backup method like condoms for that first week!) :)

  • @fbrebel approximately a week.

  • Can you have sex without a condom when you have this done?

  • @Mad2k5i dnt know about this one but with en iud u can have sex all day and come in your virgina and wont get prego at l;east i havent

  • @Mad2k5 Yes you can have sex without a condom if you have one of these - but remembers that condoms are the ONLY contraceptives that protect against STDs. I have one of these because I won't have a period for 3 years, and at 99.8%, it's the most effective contraceptive against pregnancy that's available on the current market. It feels a bit sore for about 24 hours afterwards, but it's so worth it!

  • oh god I'm so glad I didn't watch her do this shit to me.

  • do u still have your period from this procedure if so does it get lighter?

  • @OUT666 It depends.

Sometime you dont have your period at all, sometimes you constantly bleed all the time, or i can make your periods lighter. It all depends on how your body reacts with the implant.

  • that looks so painful. planning on getting this done. does it hurt after like to the extreme of having to take painkillers!?

  • @em190790 I've just had this one yesterday.

It doesn't hurt after, your arm just feels abit tender.

but it hurts alot if you end up knocking it ><

  • I'm so glad I didn't watch this before I had mine put in... Scary thing is, I watched the video of them removing it! :O I don't know why I do it to myself, lol

  • Think I'm gonna pass out after watching that - haha. Not sure if I wanna go through with this now!

  • @Liltzzz

I've had this twice and I am due for a removal and 3rd one in November this year. It only hurts for a few days after the procedure is done, and just feels like bruising. Nothing too bad :-)

  • ah im gettin this done in two hours!!!!! i'm so flustered... haha

  • The only part i felt was the needle to numb it. It was a little sore for a couple of days after but it was so worth it. So much better than the pill.

Also it's great for poking when your bored and for some reason strange reason my boyfriend is fascinated by it :)

  • @dollymixture1990 I'm going to get the implanon soon and I'm very scared of this. I hope you went alright while getting the implanon inserted, it looks painful as with the skin showing from the procedure.:s

hmm wonder why your boyfriend is fascinated by the implanon? lol

  • I got it done a couple of weeks ago :D It was fine, it hardly hurt. It just felt a little weird. It bruised a tiny bit but not much, and the experience is no wear near as scary and sick as the video, just don't look!

  • @hollyp275 I should be a doc, I watched them put my first and second implant in, and watched them remove the first one before inserting the second one too lol. The poor doc was baffled that I wanted to watch haha.

  • Having this done soon, and at first it looked really bad but I looked at the comments and they have re-assured me :) thankyou!

  • I'm getting this done when my next period starts, is that when your supposed to do it? I'm EXCITED! Everyone on here says it doesn't hurt! :D

  • Oh nooo =S I'm getting this done next week.

  • I have tattoos and a tongue peircing and i will do all those over again after watching this.......getting it done today...cant do needles....ahhh bloody hell :/ x

  • im sixteen and i got it yesterday.. you only feel the needle, not the thing beeing put in <3

  • ok so got Implanon in March....started having prolonged bleeding and had side effects that made me feel pregnant....made appt to get it out...Dr...couldn't feel it...was sent for ultrasound.....now Dr has me going for MRI this Saturday and possible surgery :-(....wish I never got it!!!!

  • @msheathernc1 wow surgery? wat it did to u

  • For the girls saying that it doesn't hurt and its painless, do you have a high tolerance to pain? Because I don't and I'm getting this done in 2 days. I'm so scared after watching this video.

  • @aamanda012 its completely pain free, the only thing you feel is a slight prick when they inject you with the anaesthetic. This video makes it look scary but its totally fine, an you'll have a cool bandage you can milk sympathy from! lol. x

  • @aamanda012 did it hurt??

  • I will have this in under 12 hours Im so scared!

  • I am getting this done.Nearly threw up watching this.

  • @maryjane9040 Watch ingrown toenail remove. Then talk to me about vomiting. ;)

  • @PrettyCrappyUsername I just got mine put in the day before yesterday and it hurts like hell! :(

  • Yah Yah Yah looks like Big Time PAIN!!!! BUT I'm 43 & 10 yrs ago had Norplant w/ NO problems then I had the coppper IUD "Merina" w/ NO problems again!!! • Im shit scared to get this done...... It looks sooooooooo painful :(:(

  • I can get tattoos and I can get piercings. I don't think I have it in me to get that. Kudos to the women that can.

  • @MatterOfFactOnly That's what i was like aye, i have enough piercings, im fine with them, But when it comes to pissy little needles i shiiit myself!

  • I had this inserted. No pain.

@JLK932000 hugs for your girlfriend! Not every girl gets off as lucky as me with this being inserted

  • hey guys, I'm 14 and I got one done a few days ago. It doesn't hurt one bit, at all. I promise :)

  • @imm012 same here thought i was strange because im only 14 aha

  • It looks painful.:o

  • My girlfriend had this inserted in April, she was sore for over a month, but it is pain that she didnt mind dealing with, there were side effects that came with it like vomiting, headaches, depression and weight gain of course, but overall she likes it cause its most effect, she has periods every week to 2 weeks so you have to adjust to not knowing when it will come for 6 months

  • wow..i just had this done a few days ago and i am petrified of needles but i would totally forget the pills every day..i was too scared to look at it when it happened and now i see it and glad i didn't look..lol..i didnt feel a thing at the time but about an hr n a half later, it felt tender..does anyone know how long it'll take 2 not feel sore anymore? thanks!

  • hey girls i had this yesterday, i got reli upset coz im like a lil girl when i have needles but honestly it DOES NOT HURT, you have the anesthetic which is like a little pinch and thats all you can feel. Go for it girls its worth having, its affective and pain free.

  • Hi girls, I am totally petrified of needles im like a little baby. but I had it done yesterday and i got really wound up and reli upset but i calmed down, then i went in to the room and 3 mins max it was all over, they put the anesthetic in which is like a lil pinch and then u cannot feel anything after it nothing hurts, am soo happy i didnt back out, its worth having girls xx

  • omg i'm so scared! i have a total fear of needles! just watching and im practically crushing the skull of my teddy! if i don't wuss out i'll be getting it done today sometime between 6:30 and 8:00. i really want my boyfriend to come with me but he might be busy :(

  • watching this video has made i stomache turn. i feel sick D:

  • Mines was done today I am very sore in my arm besides that the procedure was very simple and short. The Local anesthetic did burn the heck out of me!

  • i'm getting mine done tomorrow. i'v watched videos of people getting it done, and getting it removed, but i dunno, this one made my stomach turn =[

  • I had this done yesterday and the anaesthetic just feels like when you're having a blood test done , then you don't feel the rest cause it's numb :D

  • I had mine removed and replaced on monday didn't go too well they couldn't get it out had to have two anaesthetics cos first one didn't last long they put one back in same spot and it fell back out but they put another one in my arms pretty bruised still but it's well worth it only part that hurt was anaesthetic but I'm a wise anyway lol

  • I have the implanon and I love it It didn't hurt when they put it in at all and I have no side effects I used to be on the depo for 4 years and it made me gain alot of weight I highly suggest this birthcontrol

  • @WorldsBestWife1 thanks for sharing that because i will be getting mines in a few days and now im less scared:)

  • watching this video makes me wanna throw up. Im probably gonna have to take this next year

  • I had one, it just didn't work for me... the insertion and removal are painless, it looks a lot worse than it is.

  • ive had this done it doesnt hurt

  • I'm looking at getting this done in a few weeks. Are you sure it doesn't hurt? It looks so painful!

  • @paintedFACEmakeup i promise it dont hurt, i had it done 3 weeks ago, for a few days after it's a little tender

  • its painless
