Syriacs are West-assyrians and Chaldeans and Nestorians are east-assyrians. We speak different dialects.

When we get Beth-Nahrin back (Assyria) we must unite, we can't keep on going like we are doing now. Some Chaldeans identify themselfs just as Chaldeans even though they are not, its just the churchs name and some Syriacs identify themselfs as arameans which they are not.

Haha, you know I used to be like you. I was an aramean-fanatic but then I actually started reading history and see what the assyriologists says and immediatly changed from the fake-aramean identity to assyrian because thats what we are.

To continue... why Assurayu became Surayu is because in aramaic we shorten words for an example Mar you spell it "Amar", Nosho you spell it Anosho.

And then it became Suraya because in aramaic you prefer the letter "A" before the later "U" which is akkadian (assyrian)-style.

And because we west-assyrians lived in the byzantine-empire mostly we changed to the greek style. I think it was Jacob Barradeus who did that.

Oh and Beth Nahrin is absolutely NOT Aram-Nahrin. Aram-Nahrin was a small empire who existed not long in a part of Syria northwestern eufrat I think and it's two small rivers with it Khabur and some other I cant think of.

Beth Nahrin is MESOPOTAMIA. Nothing else! What is Mesopotamia? The land between Eufrat and Tigris, its most of Iraq, a little part of Syria and Iran and the whole of Tur Abdin.
