  • i wish i had a hedgehog id name it sonic

  • what does anoint mean

  • Awwww he/she is loves the way your cat smells and is self-anointing!

  • You're welcome!

  • Hee hee trying to anoint with the cat!!

    "C'mon plz? Just a nibble?"

  • @Existantia LOL, and the cat was like What the *&@%! Michelangelo is about a year and a half old now and still cute as a bug. He's never grown to normal size which makes him even cuter!

  • in what animal species is the Hedgehog sepose to be he look like somekind of mouse but with spickes

  • @YukiTheFox2 LOL, hedgehogs are mammals, but not rodents. They have quills, but unlike the porcupine, cannot throw them when threatened. They pygmy hedgehog, like Michelangelo, are bred from two different African hedgehog species.

  • @tophatdog1 Ha I see thanks for telling me I din't know Porcupine can throw thay spick thats intresting.

  • @tophatdog1 Porcupines cannot throw quills but they can make them stand up. Not all rodents look alike. Ever seen a capybara?

  • @tophatdog1 acculy (sorry bad speller) the are rodents

  • Silver the hedgehog and Tails the fox XDDDDDD

  • @MRsonic699sMedia LOL, I tried to avoid the video game names...thought I'd give a big name to a little guy...he just looks like a Michelangelo to me...and no, I do NOT call him Mikey! LOL

  • @MRsonic699sMedia nice haha

  • THEIRE SO CUTE!!!!!

  • Is your cat a hunter you know? I wanted to know if I could have a hedgehog with my cat that is a hunter (kills mice, birds, squirrels) ?

  • @checkeredlama My cat wasn't particularly a hunter, but a hedgehog's quills would stop a cat from messing with it. My dachshund stuck his snout too close, got pricked, and that was that, LOL. A hedgehog can also roll up into a very prickly ball which is not easy to pick up. When mine does that, I get a towel because those quills DO hurt, briefly, but still! LOL

  • @tophatdog1 thanks!! haha im just really worried....thanks!!!! :D

  • @checkeredlama I can totally understand! But don't worry, one little prick from those quills and your cat will NOT want to mess with your hedgehog, LOL. I think you'll enjoy having a hedgehog, though they're loners for the most part. Mine just likes to toodle around then sleep, run on his wheel, sleep, lol. But I can hold him and he's a really sweet little guy, doesn't bite. Let me know if you have anymore questions! :)

  • @checkeredlama THANKS! Now I feel okay about getting one! THANKS even MORE!

  • lol the cat's like

    "That's dangerous! GET AWAY!!!!!!

  • @Naturepheonix The cat had never seen anything like it, so he was quite confused, LOL. Little Michelangelo is such a mellow guy, even now, though when he's mad, i.e. when I wake him up, he will bristle up and even hiss. But once he knows it's me, he relaxes and I can then pick him up. He has never bitten me and loves to run on his wheel.

  • @tophatdog1 LOL! these things are like hamsters!!!

  • @Naturepheonix Yea, hedgehogs on average run about 5 miles a night on their wheel! Mine loves his. And he just has the cutest little face. I will finally try to upload new vids of him this weekend, just a couple of short ones I did very recently. He's really fun to watch when he eats a peanut, LOL.

  • @tophatdog1 I guess you need the new Hamster Wheel 1000

It has full bearings, metal supports and rubber grips for their tiny foot!

    A peanut???

  • @tophatdog1 Hedgehogs are not supposed to eat any sort of nut. as the can get stuck in the roof of their mouth and can require surgery to remove it.

  • @LaylaBelle32 I wasn't aware of that, didn't find any info on it. So far Michelangelo has had no problems, though. He breaks them down quite well just as he does his cat food. I'll keep watch on him, though. He doesn't get a bunch, only 1 1/2 a day. I still haven't put up new vids yet, been so busy, but will try to soon.

  • The hedgehog looks like a chew toy to the cat. But in reality, the cat is the hedgehog's chew toy. LOL

  • @Rickx777 LOL, yes, hedgies are quite prickly, so the cat didn't know WHAT to think. He never tried to hurt him but was curious as to what the heck this thing was.

  • adorable!

  • @drplbiftin Thanks! Michelangelo is a very mellow guy and really cute. He's small for a hedgie, which makes him even cuter!

  • i think annointing is like camoflauge, they try and make themselves smell like their surroundings so if something comes up and sniffs them they'll just smell what they annointed with. just a guess though

  • @Kharmatos13 That sounds like a very good guess, and you may be right. No one really knows, but it's cute as hell to watch them try to anoint themselves at the most hard-to-reach places, lol. I've managed to get a couple of new videos uploaded of my granddaughter, then I got kicked offline again. So, hopefully soon I can get new vids of Michelangelo up soon. He's still quite small and adorable. :)

  • If I can get some new videos to upload I'll have some recent footage of Michelangelo soon. He's "all growed up", lol, but still small. He's doing great and is just cute as can be. He's about a year old now and is a running fiend on his wheel!

  • cute kitty and cute hedgehog

  • What do u feed ur hedgehog with? I also have albino one and a cat, so I give the hedgehog kitty food or meat from time to time..

  • @avaladsf Hi, I feed Michelangelo a mix of dry cat and dog food, plus I supplement that with different varieties of baby food as it doesn't have all the additives often found in "regular" foods. I give him fresh fruit and veggies, but if that's just not possible, I substitute that with baby food such as custard, carrots, green beans, and he and my sugar gliders LOVE the chicken/apple combo baby food. I do watch his weight carefully, too. :)

  • @tophatdog1 Thanks!!! I didn't know I could use baby food as well

    You made my day :)

  • @avaladsf Well, I just thought about it and realized that fresh fruits and veggies aren't always possible, so I figured baby food would be the next best thing. Michelangelo, and my two sugar gliders love certain baby foods like blueberry/apple, apple/chicken, carrots, and some fruit flavored baby finger foods. Let me know how it goes with your little guy. :)

  • OMG your hoggly boggly is super cute!!!

  • Aww he's so cute. im getting a hedgehog

  • it does look like he annointing himself lol!

i think they lick themselves there because theyre trying to stop there coat from infection from insects or something like that. i read about that awhile back. :)

  • AHH!!! AWEEEE omg that sooooo cute!!!

  • @xhorseluver12x Thanks! Michelangelo is adorable. He is just the most mellow hedgie around. He doesn't bite and loves to explore....and sleep...and run on his wheel...and eat...LOL :)

  • Thanks! He's a bit bigger now, but not full grown yet. Still trying to figure out what color category he falls into. His eyes are actually a deep red that looks black unless you see them in bright light. He's a little sweetie!

  • Maybe an Albino or Apricot? Btw, how old is he??

  • I'm trying to think how old he is. I think now about 10-12 wks. He was probably 7-8 in the video. He's not an albino. I'm thinking apricot as they have the dark red eyes. Seller thought he would be a cinnacot pinto. He's a little doll, very mellow and doesn't bite. He's really filling out now. I hope to get new video up soon.

  • very cute hoglet!

  • @joltingfire5 Thanks! Gonna try to get new videos of Michelangelo posted soon. He's all "growed" up, lol, though he still is not as big as the average hedgehog. He was the runt and is still quite small. He's really a sweet little guy, doesn't bite, very mellow. He's doing great! :)

  • @tophatdog1 wow, in that time I got a hedgehog named Kipper. He's about 4 1/2 months old now and I really love him :) I honestly think Kipper is pretty small for a hedgehog too, (altough not a runt). He likes to run around everywhere and burrow into things
