wow, that's so bad ass!! Your engineers must take Dramamine or have no vertigo. I like the crossing over itself part but that's just me. It's like a never-ending Tehachapi.
The curves are basically a mixture of 9-3/4" and 11" radius Atlas curved track, and then flex track for the transitions and slightly larger radius curves. The base is only 23.6" wide so 11" radius is about as large as you can make a complete 180 degree turn.
I think that anyone that models in N or Z thinks of this idea at least once...I personally would have gone with a different track plan, but you still did a wonderful job.
I love it man - do you have any more "build up" photos or videos? I am very interested in tackling one of these after I get more done on my layout. Excellent work - pat on the back for you!
No I was just looking at glass top coffee tables and thought gee you could put an N Scale model railway in there. I mentioned it to my wife and she said, well, do it!

My budgie had a great talk to your bird on the sound track. Interesting layout concept.

Do you have plans for the layout that you would share?

What happens when it Derails

The top is hinged, you lift it up, put them back on the track, lower the top, and off you go again.
Touch wood I haven't had any derailments anyway under normal conditions.

I'd love to make it longer. Feel free to donate more wagons lol.

Make it shorter, WHAT!
Haha, no I like it the way it is it's kind of hypnotic. Plus it's not designed to be a prototypical layout, just a bit of fun.
