  • the blow to the neck is the only effective technique shown is this video... although you will seriously injure the reciever

  • il maestro karateka a quest'ora era fatto a fettine..ma va va

  • Why does the swordman rise the katana so high above his head? A smaller motion woud suffice to cut the opponent.

  • This is the best of the best

  • This is the best of the best

  • En teoria se ve interesante pero poco práctica! La velocidad de alguien que practica kendo es muy rápida y quien se defiende no alcanzaría a llegar al golpe sin antes ser cortado en dos.

  • everybody exposes themself at some point... everything is suppose to be done slowly so people watching can see the movement

  • well even suppose he comes in swinging vertically, horrizontally, diagonally, or any other way, thers about a 2 second window between each swing where he has to get his balance again. this excersise is for swords, pool sticks, broom sticks, real sticks, something long that someone would use to strike at you with. wado ryu is based on dodge-counterattack-finish basics. no matter how your opponent swings, he will eventually open himself up for attack.

  • @L33tm4st3r the problem with all self defense is that you wait until your opponent attacks and then you counter attack.unfortunately unless you are a mind reader you have no idea how he will attack until after he attacks you.then it is to late.what if the swordsman attacked with a straight thrust.by the time you realize what your opponent is doing you are already dead.instead of defending yourself you should be the one attacking, controlling the situation, thereby determining the outcome.

  • Having taken both Wado Ryu karate and kendo I can say that those moves are correct. The Kendoka is attacking for the Men or helmet/head region on the karateka. It is a standard move in kendo...

  • if you do kendo you know never to move until the strike is on....in this case the guy steps in while lifting the sword....leaving himself way open to any hit and would never do even in kendo...you may lift but not move if there was no opening...this makes it look easy to beat someone with a sword/stick when it is actually quite hard...but i looks good to the novice but this is a basic kendo no no!...back to the drawing board !!

  • @kendoscot I had the same assumption The swordman must give an advantage ...

  • This is call Dai Jodan No Kamae

  • good technic ...must be super fast though...
