nt to mention the crime rate was unreal , gangs controlled EVERY block in cabrini, some residents were prisoners in their own home prey to the gangs and the drugs tht were pushed on them. the place even looks like a prison with the chain link fences and windows (to stop people beoing thrown to their deaths - seriously). people were desperate and there was a chronic lack of oppoortunity , financial and otherwise makin it hard to escape tht life ..selling drugs ws the only way out for sum

ya getting rid of cabrini green was all good but for months following people slept outside on the street in front of the demo because there was inadequate planning abouts what to do with its' residents. all this did was make the surrounding projects worse
