• My cats name is sugar :3

  • Thanks heaps! Talk about turning back the clock! A spitting (and hissing) image of our beloved Miss Boots. Same characteristics, same behavior but that she trained me. She'd hop on the banister, look at the roof (two story house), then at my shoulder.

And that's how it began. Banister to shoulder to roof where she would inspect things. Peer over the edge and call me when she was ready to come back down. Shoulder to banister and a cat grin.

"Thank you! You may now be dismissed."

  • Heheheh, that's pretty funny about Miss Boots also using your shoulder. That would have made a great video. Carly is certainly an individualistic cat. I've never seen a cat who studies things over as much as her. Sometimes she'll sit in the floor and stare a hole in me for 3 or 4 minutes before she decides to jump up in bed or in a chair, as the case might be.

  • btw my cats name is pickles

  • Carly says "Hi There Pickles!!!"

  • WHAT A BOSS

  • Carly is the strong silent type:) She's a great cat.

  • thats cool! my name is carly too!

  • Hi Carly. Yep my Carly is one cool kitty!

    Blinkazoid - Slave to 3CoolKats

  • kitty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yeay Carly Cat!

  • In the summertime she jumps up on the roof like that almost every day and sometimes two times a day.

  • I like your videos Blinkazoid. You're a good guy along with being funny and smart, and let's not forget crazy as a bat. Your videos are entertaining. And I love the cats! I've got 3 of them myself.

  • Well thank you PB for such a really nice comment/compliment:) Ya, 3 cats seems to be about the right number. I'm sure your's provides endless entertainment as well:)

  • do you have rat problems ?

  • Two of my cats sometimes bring rats through the pet door. Either them or I manage to deal with them fairly quickly however. I release them back outside. I've seldom had to set a trap. Really the only good place to set one is under the fridge so the cats can't get to it. I only do that as a very last resort though.

  • An astonishing acrobatic feat! The slow-mo effects truly heighten the anticipation and excitement of the sudden daring skill featured by Carly Cat.

  • Thanks Joshryker, Hehehe. Maybe I should copy/past your comment into my description here. You really make it sound interesting:)))

  • I love cats!! ~HiGH HeaD JeSTeR~

  • Me too!!!

  • Did u know, cats can jump 7 times as high as their tail? Huh. That's what the internet says anyway...hee hee

  • Hi Cherie:) Nope I didn't know that. I think a lot of them (maybe even including Carly) would have to be pretty motivated (as in afraid for their lives with a huge adrenaline rush) to jump that high. Although I imagine there's some with a shorter than average tail which could pull it off pretty easily.

  • I like your kitties!

  • Thank you sillybl:) I like em too!!!

  • Have to catch up on your vids as soon as.. Amazing how I got behind, being away from YT for a couple of days.. Beautiful cat, not a bad jump.. Thanks very much for subscring, MUCH APPRECIATED!! Rob

  • I'm continiously behind no matter how much time I spend trying to keep up I'm afraid. I should have subscribed based on your videos a long time ago. In the end, seeing your clever comments all over the place won me over:)

  • That Carly is a big show-off. Casual look around. Sees YT looking. Pregnant pawse (sorri). Annnnd off. Now then - wheres the applawse.

  • Ya, I hadn't thought about that. I probably should have added some applause. "Pregnant pawse", Hehehe, now I'm thinking of a cat with great big paws:)

  • Had time for one vid before heading out the door - glad I chose this one! Was in need of that roll/belch/roar combo today.

I love how the look on Carly's face after each jump was of the "what's the big deal?" variety.

PS. Isn't that Incompetech web site a gold mine?!

  • Ya, Carly is pretty non chalante' about most things. I need to do some mining at incompetech to see what sort of nuggets are there for sure. I've not fully explored it yet. So far I've only downloaded 4 files, but I'm going to hit it hard one of these days. I can be a real file packrat sometimes:)

  • And it lands on it's feet.

    Love the music. :D

  • Yep, I would have preferred she do a somersault on the way down though. Apparently she is not familiar with the workings of my channel, LOL. This was my first use of royalty free music. The link is in the description. I managed to find just the right tune on only the 4th try. I think you've used royalty free music from the first day I met you. I've still got a project or two that royalty free simply won't work for though.

  • I've been using music now from ccMixter dot org lately. If you want to give making your own mixes or just want a bunch of sound effects, freesounds have it (you'll have to google it).

  • Cats are awesome aren't they...they can do the coolest things

    5 Estrellas

  • Many thanks for giving me my Estrella fix:) You need a few cats and a pet door Diana. Just think of all the amazing videos you could then make. Something tells me that you doing an episode of "Cat / Rat Theater" would be pretty hilarious.

  • I thought her encouter with the bug in the kitchen while cooking for Nutcheese was pretty hysterical.

    :-D

  • Cats are amazing - they make it look so easy too. Good background music to complement the feet.

  • Thanks Dannie. It was actually some royalty free music from a site I linked to in my description. I've noticed several YouTubers linking to it of late.

  • Wow. Noe fear. One of my soster's cats jumps of of a garage. She tries to run down the wall. I'll try and get it on video and post a response. Well done, Carly!

  • That'd be cool:) Thanks Carl!

  • Thank's for stopping by Mikma:)

  • Does Carly have babies?

  • No, I had her spayed when she was little. Carly is Bab's daughter. I got Suzy at the humane society. Even though she's a perfect weight for her frame at 10 pounds she does have a bit of a paunch. Bab's is 7 years old, Carly 6, and Suzy 2.

  • She is just so cute ... and very athletic! My cat would look up at that and say "no way" and roll over and go to sleep. lol

  • Hehehe. Thanks. She's might be the prettiest cat I've ever owned. (I hope Suzy doesn't see this:) Niether of my other cats have ever remotely considered jumping up on the roof.

  • Carly seemed quite pleased that you caught her athletic abilities on video! :D hugs, Chris

  • Didn't she though:))) She's really pleased when she brings a mouse in too, unfortunately. Occasionally I'll be outside when she catches one and if I praise her while she's outside she doesn't bring it in. They really can be like a kid who says "Look at me:)"

  • Yes they are. Years ago a neighbour of mine had two black cats - beautiful and the one used to bring to my door each morning green beans!! Yup...fresh from someones garden. I would always say "thankyou" of course. lol.

  • Now that's just too funny. I grow green beans but none of mine have ever done any harvesting. Although Suzy will play with one I throw on the floor in her direction.

  • Blink, I think if I had to be a cat I would want to be your cat. Heck man! you give your cats more attention and better treatment that a lot of people give to their children! You stock just keeps going up with me friend!!

  • Thanks for the really nice comment dicom:) I love my cats dearly. I think they're more responsive to me than quite a few cats I've seen are to their respective owners.

  • I used to have a cat that could jump from the floor to the top of the fridge all in one jump. I wish I had that on video to show. I saw him do it many times.

    Dianne

  • WOW! Now *THAT'S* what I call a jump. I'm not so certain Carly could make that jump athough I've had a male cat in the past who might have been able to. I wish I'd captured some of his antics on film too. Carly will jump up into the tops of closets but she uses the backs of chairs for additional leverage so it's really not too high a jump.

  • Fun kitty! And she gets a pet at the end!

  • Always:) She was really looking forward to that pet. She was pretty proud of herself!!

  • my dogs don't do tricks, but they would have liked to be there at the bottom to bark at kitty. And then go back to their important work: sleeping.

  • Trix are for Kitties:) OK, that play on words really doesn't work too well. My sister-in-law sometimes brings her little dog over. It's hyper and barks. Carly and Suzy dissappear when it shows up. Babs lays up in a chair and swats at it when it gets too close. And yep, sleeping is very important work. I know I don't get nearly enough of it.

  • She loved her close-up at the end didn't she!! XD That's so cool(=

  • Hehehe. Ya, she *immediatly* had to come over and say hi after her performance:)

  • Years ago, my cat at the time jumped out of an open window and the drop the other side was at least 30 feet as we lived in a second floor flat. The cat came to no harm! Mind you she never did it again! xx

  • Wow, thats a long, long way. Thank goodness it was OK. I've had a previous cat of mine fall off this same porch which is about 12 feet high. It didn't get hurt either.

  • They make it look effortless don't they? :)

My cat can come and go through the cat flap whenever he wants, but if he sees a window open, he'll jump up to it and then out of it down quite a drop the other side, and I'm like..you didn't NEED to do that LOL

  • Hehehe. Ya, mine have a flap too. But that certainly doesn't stop them from DEMANDING to be let in and out the door 20 times a day:)

  • TA DAA!!!! Yeah Carly!!!

The music really added to the tension of the moment.

  • Thanks Nancy. Actually this was my first time using royalty free music. I put the link in the description.

  • The trick with cats is the looking around first to check no-one is watching - just in case! And when it does go wrong there is usually the nonchalant impromptu washing routine - like no big deal!

  • Yep, that's how she does alright:) I usually check to make sure no one is watching before I shoot my videos too, LOL. And it oftentimes goes wrong:)

  • Carly takes Leaps and bounds! Yeah, Carly!!

  • Thanks for the comment Mari:) Hey it's about time for your "second try:)"

  • I see Carly is practicing her Parkour moves!

  • Hehehe. I actually had to look that up. Yep, it does sorta remind me of that. I've seen some pretty amazing Parkour move videos on YouTube in the past.

  • I noticed that she opted for the safer landing onto the table instead of the deck railing - looks like her parkour daring-do has it's limitations :)

  • LOL. Yes, I've *Never* seen her jump back down onto the railing even though it's a shorter jump. I tell ya those parkour people are nuts!!

  • My goldfish just aren't YouTube material, no competition. I like the way cats will just wash themselves if they ever do get it wrong - oh I meant to do that. Lesley

  • I had a cat once which fell off this same porch. I was really worried but when I went around to check on her she ran off at full speed into some bush's. It was like she was embarressed that she fell. But ya, normally they just try to act like that's what they meant to do.

  • Amazing lol

  • Thanks Joy:) She really does this with such ease.

  • Now see if you can do that same jump lol just kidding.

  • Heheh. I don't want the roof to cave in:) Or I could just say what Nalts say sometimes. "I could do that:)"

  • Puppy was watching and thinks she can do soon, lol! Smart cat to use the table for the landing!

  • I'd imagine puppy will be jumping up on all sorts of stuff eventually:) "Puppy, get down from there!!!:)" Oddly enough Carly is the only one of my 3 cats who makes this jump.

  • What's amazing is that they have that power and agility - to say nothing of balance. Amazing little creatures. Carly is a charmer though, too. Pretty cool that she did that on cue!! HAHA!!

  • Hehehe. I've been trying for a whole month to get that footage. There's been a couple of times I've followed her out there and she's turned and looked at me and came right over for a little petting and then left the porch. I was like, YES FINALLY!!!

  • And he (or she) sticks the landing!

  • All my cats are females for theoretically better harmony, although 2 of them hate each other:) The landing was a 10 in my book. The judge from Ratmouseistan only gave her a 2 though:)

  • "YES, I RULE. NOW FEED ME YUMMY THINGS AGAIN!"

    Humans are sooooo easy!

  • She knows I'm an *extra* soft touch:)

  • Carly is like: "yeah ..I know, I know I just did something amazing...ok..that's enough! " jajaja Take care Blink

  • Ya, she always seems pleased with herself no matter what she does:) You take care too Brenda. Looks like Moonchimes beat us out on Twish's tub. We'll get em the next time.

  • there's no way any of us would've won... 9 entries jajaja. But I'm so happy for her

  • You could say Carly catapulted herself up there!

  • lol

  • Hehehe. Good one frank:) Very Rangelelyesque even:)

  • Leapin' Lizards!... no, wait... Leapin' Katz!.. sure-footed creatures, ain't they

  • Yep, I've had a couple in the past which I feel could jump even higher than this one. Of course Carly easily makes this jump, so she could go a few inches higher herself.
