The music from 64k-500k are different from one another. The pitch gets higher as the game goes on. It's hard to observe at first hearing but when you listen to it again and again you'll see. Higher pitch = More tension. Perfect for the game show.

Actually 64000-500000 themes are all slightly different and what we hear here is just 64000 theme. Maybe it's hard to notice when you hear them separately but if you listen to all 4 of them one after another you clearly hear the difference (every next one is higher pitched than previous). I think the remaining themes (125000, 250000 and 500000) should be added.

I agree with your opinion, but even so, the last question song is the most frightening to me. I thought about a fan fiction where there was a 16th question. And there the music could be... well, try to search Yugioh OST: Dartz Theme. It's a like-the-end-of-the-world music. Just so that you have an idea of which music could play on a 16th question.

I went and saw Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? live in London a couple of weeks ago. There isn't even any music played for the first two questions and when the contestant reaches £1,000 the music from then on is really quiet. In fact, most music you can hardly hear in the studio because they play it so quietly.
