  • Awe you thought having that pink tile on your bathroom wall was bad. I currently have the very same tile on my kitchen counter tops!!!! Yes the countertops. I inherited the house so didn't much say so....I watched your video to see how to remove tile, it gave me hope.... I can't wait to get started.. I often wonder why on the counter tops too, and its horrible and I will forever hate the color pink!!!!!!!!

  • The tile I'm removing is sixty years old and is embedded in CEMENT. Tomorrow I'm going to try a demolition hammer with a chisel bit to see if I can even make a dent in it. My sledge sure didn't. And what's up with having to use such foul language on the comments? Have we descended into total lack of respect for other viewers?

  • I don't understand why you guys are killing yourselves with the chiseling and the drilling blah blah blah, when I redo my bathrooms, I take a drywall saw and cut the whole fucking tiled section of the wall out and throw it and the tiles away in one piece . Then I replace the old shitty drywall which probably wasn't water resistant to begin with, with green board, and re-tile. No muss, no fuss, no mess just easy breezy with time to spare.

  • @miko7777777 Taking down the plaster and lath was not an option in this restoration otherwise I would of taken the a reciprocating saw to it and re-drywalled it. This kitchen was huge and old I filled several contractor bags with tile, if I were to add 45 plus feet of walls worth of plaster and lath tear down to the pile I would of had to tent the whole house off and rent a dumpster. Sometimes a customer just wants the tile down these walls were solid. This room had ten foot ceilings as well.

  • what tool is that?

  • @crv26 a very sharp heavy duty five way. I sharpened it with a file

    .

  • @MrKnightdark thanks man!! i tried using an air hammer with a bit i sharped on a bench grinder. It took a while but i got it done. your method is far more efficient!

  • Save The Pink Bathrooms! I Love vintage pink tiles:(

  • The funny thing is these walls got finished smooth and painted no more tile SO I had to skim coat the old glue lines with some bagged 45 minute USG topcoat and sand the walls smooth to make ready for paint.

  • Can you come and do mine? 'Cause there is no way the sight of me removing the tile from my kitchen is going to look anything like this video. Or sound like it, I'm imagining there will be a lot more cussing. lol.

  • Dude, you are a MACHINE.

  • Hey Knightdark, you're working yourself too hard removing them tiles. Next time try using a hammer drill with a sharp chiseling bit. You'll be done in a fraction of the time with far less effort, which will leave you more time to address the more important things in life, such as laying out on the recliner with a cold one.

  • WTF is it that easy? i dont think so...

  • @jackwoopadup There is nothing easy about tile young man, but after you remove as much as I have and then skim the walls smooth and then put tile back up you get a feel for how to do it. WTF why don't you stick to your video games and your japanamation.

  • @MrKnightdark whoopps touched a nerve... no i meant no offence i was just gaping at how good you were at removing those tiles.... i am just after spending4 hours trying to take tiles off my granny's wall and in the process made a balls of the wall

  • Hi... thanks for posting your video. I started to remove my wall tile from the bathroom, but so much plaster came down with it.... do i need to remove the plaster down to the bare wood? If I don't want to replace the wall tile, is it possible to install drywall where the wall tile used to be (top part would still be plaster bottom would be drywall.) Thanks!

  • @crystalclearvideopro The object is to take down the tile the best you can. Then you will want to remove any loose plaster , patch the big holes with drywall then skim coat the whole wall smooth with some USG 90,or 45, mixable plaster. then sand the wall after it drys. then paint or re-tile the wall.

  • Is this a plaster wall?

  • @amypica03 yes old and thick

  • @amypica03 yes ten foot ceilings too.

  • what kind of tool are you using?

  • did u find out what tool it is mate??

  • It's called a 5 way painters tool. Probably too late any way lol.
