  • Many signs of the renaissance were showing through in the 14th century.

  • This was extremely helpful. However I have a question. Did polyphony emerge with ars antiqua or ars nova??

  • @FauveAngelique I'm no expert but I've heard that ars nova took the term as a new art becasue of the creation of polyphonic music, so I would say that polyphany emerged from ars antiqua as the new art referred to as ars nova. Hope this helps.

  • Very interesting Wil. A fascinating insight into early music history. I`m looking forward to part three.
