What seems really sick and twisted to me about the Park51 project is this:
Why would a group of spiritual people want to worship and spend time on a grave of 3000 people?
People around New York are aware that their Islamic Faith and people of their Faith, killing in the name of Islam has made the Black, dark memory there.
What does this action, to build near this dark, bloody, horrable killings of 3000 people, say about Islam? Remembering what their Islamic brothers have done?
I really don't have a problem with it knowing it's 2 blocks away. I mean, you can't even see Ground Zero from Park51. If it was closer, I would have a problem with it. 2 blocks and around a corner? Eh. Freedom of religion. The people who attacked us may have been Muslim, but they weren't American, and this is an American establishment.
yah i get it freedom of religion and stuff but cmon do you really have to build a mosque right near the WTC?! build it somewhere else cause thats just ridiculous! thats a slap to the face of america and all the families who lost loved ones on 9/11!! and i love how obama supports this and doesnt speak up about the health crisis of the 9/11 responders and help them out! no lets build a mosque and forget the heroes! obama is a complete retard
@elementaldrgnmstr i didnt say obama shut the down i said he wasn't doing anything about it and obviously thats more important that building a freakin mosque! im a republican and i dont agree with some of those republicans who werent gonna support the health aid to the 9/11 responders
@parodyfreaks101 that's actually NOT a slap to americans. the creators of the group are using the cultural center as a mosque, community center, and a memorial to those who've lost their lives in the attack. instead of complaining about 9/11 like most americans do, they're trying to teach people about tolerance so acts of violence like 9/11 don't repeat. if trying to make sure terrorist attacks stop is a slap in the face... then you have to ask yourself who the real terrorists are...
should upload one without the time ramp... let them know howlong it actually takes... then maybe they'll realize how foolish they are... but I guess I'm giving them too much credit...
@Jory so true.. they think of muslims as terrorists nd therefore anywhere relatively NEaR that area, as in, any length noteworthy, ex: 2 blocks away, is considered "stabbing america in the heart," which makes no sense at all.. oh and also that that we need to refudiate the mosque...
@sprklshine5 I think the opposition would like to think that if not "the heart", it'd be the "alveoli". This thing, this issue has been muddling in the court of public opinion for too damn long.
That is NOT at the site. At all. That's like me (here in Atlanta, at the Healey Bldg.) complaining about, hmmm... whatever I would complain about (maybe a Chick-fil-A?) ... at Five Points Station. Or the Federal Center. But acting as if it was, say, IN my building. Which is would not be.

@sevenstarsofmine Unless you'd have as much of a problem with a church or synagogue being closer, you're still an asshat bigot.

@parodyfreaks101 I believe it was the republicans who shut down the health benefits for the 9/11 heroes in the senate. I'll double check my facts.

What a retrograd society. Nowadays it seems like muslim equals terrorist. Jesus christ, let them have their mosque wherever they want!

@Jory Not a bad idea. I was trying to compress it just so it wouldn't be (as) deadly dull, but I think I'll put up a non-sped-up version too.
