  • Congratulations! I hope you enjoy it. You can leave it alone at first until you get ready for more control. The traveler allows you ease the main but remain sheeted in. If it's really windy you can keep you sail tight but let out the traveler to keep from getting overpowered. you can check out my traveler settings in the video.

  • Hello! I just got my force 5 today! I am not personally used to using a traveler. Is it on to just not use it and leave it in the middle?

  • What cind of boat

  • @ageOFpiratesPLAYER it's a force 5.

  • Well done video. You did great showing the joy of sailing.

  • @eltaddah thanks, I was trying to make it feel like you were out on the boat with me.

  • Fun video. I'm rehabing a very old Force 5 and enjoyed seeing it in action! Thanks!

  • @vikingwhite that's great ! it's good to see another force 5 rescued. Glad you enjoyed the video.

  • lifejacket?????

    where???

  • there is a lifejacket on the boat, I only wear if it's really blowing.

  • @FluffanutterSandwich damn i got a 76 also

  • whats the difference between a force 5 and a laser

  • @sbs123ish they're pretty similar, I looked at both. I went with the force 5 because it is more comfortable and they are less expensive. the laser is a much larger class, if you were into racing.

  • How do you get the sail on the mast with it being sleeved and set it up in the wind to launch or beach the boat. Simple questions but new to me.

    Thank You

  • @pbr2424

    1. Assemble mast on ground/dock/where ever.

    2. Slide sail over mast.

    3. Place mast and sail into boat.

    4. When you are ready to sail, attach the tack of the sail to the outhaul on the end of the boom (note that this is also what holds the boom to the mast)

It is easiest to do this from a beach where you can put everything together then just pull the boat into the water and jump in.

  • looks like fun! Is your tiller extension short or are they all like that?

I like to call your steering technique 'frying eggs' lol

  • I think it's about 30 inches long, maybe a little shorter than normal.

  • Excellent video! What type of video equipment did you use? Was the water fresh or salt?

  • Thanks a Lot MrKasiaa!, the bow shot was a cannon mini dv in a homemade box, the helmet cam was a panasonic sdr-s10 and the mast cam was a oregon scientific ATC5K all with a fisheye lens mounted. I just got a sanyo wh1 and can't wait to use it this summer.

  • Great video, nothing like taking the 5 out for a few hours.

  • Thanks, audiparty, It's been so rainy here in the south I am going through withdrawals.

  • as long as your sailing its all good

  • I totally agree.

  • go get a laser mate

    its where the worlds at

  • I prefer the force 5.

  • @ando166791 Force 5 is a more stable platform, & you wont be bumping your knes.

  • @ando166791 Knees

  • thanks, I did the music myself. the Boat is a lot of fun on a windy day.

  • Exellent video. I have had my Force 5 nearly 20 years. Have always wondered why more people do not have them. Love the boat!!! On light days look out lasers.

  • thanks, I am fairly new to the force 5 and am enjoying the boat. I wanted to create a video that shows how much fun it is to sail.

  • Agree, this boat takes minutes to set up, maybe sailing will be the "NEXT BIG THING" and all our boats will tripple in value:-)

  • Very nice video. Wish I still had my Force 5. A great boat.
