Well I may have been missinformed which happens when your getting your information from people. I was told he was an isolationist, but if thats not the case then cool.
well, non-intervention is one of two pillars of isolationism, but non-intervention in and of itself is quite reasonable. It simply means we don't involve ourselves in the internal politics of other nations, to avoid the "entangling alliances" our founding fathers warned us of.
Isolationism combines the principle of non-interventionism with legal barriers to cut the "isolationist" nation off from the rest of the world through restriction of travel and commerce. This makes a big difference :)

His book "The Conscience of a Conservative" is very enlightening. I still would agree with 75% of it, even though I'm much more liberal today than I was back then. Goldwater was one of the few ACTUAL "mavericks" in the GOP. I'm sure he hated the Reagan Administration just as much as I do, esp. when it comes to deficits and spending. Ron Paul 2008. People need to be more educated on how the Republican delegate process works. It's not over folks until "the fat lady sings"--so to speak--at the national convention.
As much as I love him and his position on policy as it relates to the constitution, reality, common sense and self preservation. I can't throw my vote down the wishing well. Please RON if you really love this country as much as I think you do, be truly independent in name and party. If that what it takes to get the job done, lets do it. I'll throw my Dem. status to the dogs and be there with you buddy.
This is the reason Ron Paul didn't get more votes. The media has everyone thinking that RP is a fringe candidate with no chance. If people would just vote for who they beleive in he probably would have won the nomination, But because of people like YOU he didn't stand a chance.
Yes, I've had people tell me, "you know he dropped out right..?" No, he hasn't dropped out. And it's not only the slanted media we're contending with.. don't forget the diebold machines. Here in Texas 51% of the Republicans supposedly voted for McCain.. I'm having a hard time finding a single one of them.
People like me? Are you oblivious? Do you think the the GOP would ever ever ever back him as a nominee? NO. The media wouldn't even give him air time. The REP candidates laughed in his face. The road was closed a long time ago. Its people like that that did it.
3rd party? He would have to give up his house seat which he just won 70% to 30%. And he'd need to raise some ridiculous amount of money and then petition the 50 states to get on the ballots before some closing deadline.
His best chance is through the delegate process. If your state hasn't had their primary yet, be sure to be registered to vote in the Republican Primary (if your state requires party registration) and then attend your precinct convention and get nominated to become a delegate..etc
Amen, and well done. What is really too bad is that R.Paul will never be allowed to be a legit candidate by the Rep. party. He is too proud of his record of being a "real, and constitutional" Rep. to abandon his party in the hopes of a independent nomination...which he could and would get. Instead it will only serve to endanger the validity of the next best option.. a Dem in office. If he proceeds as such he will only Naderize, or dilute the vote and possible hand the country back to bushies.
Imprisoning or exiling political opponents? check Engaging in an illegal invasion? check Using troops to influence elections (1864 in Lincoln's case)? check Engaging in total war against civilians? check Read up on some history besides that approved by Jaffa or other Lincoln cultists; the comparison isn't too kooky as a matter of fact.
I would have preferred our country as our forefathers originally intended it as opposed to the form that has existed following Lincoln, but yes I do like and appreciate the US. And there's a difference between maintaining the territorial integrity of the US and saving her. A federal republic that can be maintained by force against the will of the states and their people is no longer a true federal republic. I love the US despite of men like Lincoln, not because of him.
There is no other country, in the history of the world, to compare what the founders created in our constitutional republic. So, there would still be a constitutional republic (the confederate south) and another country a nationalist sort like we have today in the 'north'.
There'd be free trade, diplomacy, the south would be wealthy beyond all imagination and the north would be... where we are today- mired in empire bldg, corporatism, collectivism. :-(
The more you look into Abe Lincoln the more you can draw conclusions that support S. Avenger's view. Though I have to admit Abe Lincoln seems to have bore the yoke of leadership with humility, unlike Hussein. I think the trials would have broke lesser men.

A vote for Ron Paul, or a vote for Huckabee is essentially a vote for McCain at this point. This is a simple fact that can not be denied. So unless you want the liberal McCain, or a liberal Democrat in the white house, vote for them. Me, I'm putting my vote behind Romney. The only conservative who has a chance to beat McCain. And the only one who has an actual RECORD of conservativism while in office. Is not a career politician. And has a record of leading and winning in the private sector.
So, what you say is that we should just vote for the "winners" that are picked by the media? The U.S. is so blind and controled today by the media it is like the show The War Of The Worlds. The media said it was true or made a comment in this manner or that so that is what we must belive or do.
Romney is done and your vote doesn't count anyways! It is down to the state deligates not us. Want your vote to count? Run for republican deligate and vote for Ron. It is very easy to do.Contact your local Republican party.
Romney dropped out! He gave up on you! Do you appreciate his actions? Do you think he did the right thing?
I believe he sold out and violated his supporters. My question to you now is: Who do you support from here forth? Do you go to McCain, Huckabee, or RonPaul ?
ron paul believes in everything i believe in gun rights.... making weed legal there's more things in this country alot more important than busting people doing weed mitt romney and mike huckabee turned there heads on someone doing medicinal when asked about it ron paul is the only one who answered i am all for the ron paul revolution and believe if he loses this country will be fucked for sure he is a true republican and the only one
If you think that someone voting for Ron Paul is merely voting for drug legalization, then you have this all wrong. It is about first of all upholding the constitutional right that you as an individual has to use whatever substance you wish, second the war on drugs, wastes billions of dollars each year. Drugs aren't going away folks and people will continue to use them whether or not they are "legal". Thirdly, Ron Paul is advocating states rights to legislate and enforce their own laws.
I ask this in all earnestness- why did SC vote for McCain?! Next to Giulani, I can't imagine a less conservative candidate. Conventional wisdom is that the reason McCain won is because of the high number of vets in SC. Frankly, this doesn't make sense to me. Why would vets vote for McManiac, when everyone knows he'll try to initiate a war within Iran w/in 6 mos of taking office?
Is this due to a large number of Yankee retirees on the coast? Its baffling to me.
i am a 17 year veteran and former green beret,, about as gun -ho as they come,, and ill tell vets are not the reason mccain won in s.c. ,, i am as baffled as you,,, i trully believe its because the media's manipulation of this race,,, ,, hang in there,, the revolution has begun and there is no stopping it now,,, GO RON PAUL!!!!!!!
Mr Southern Avenger...congratulations from New Zealand. This is fantastic!!What with Iran on the verge of being nuked, i only hope your fellow South Carolinians are listening to you in time for tomorrow. if not God help us all!!
You're so right southernavenger -It's not that Ron Paul's the best candidate but that he's the ONLY candidate. The fact that Americans have for the first time in their lifetime, a chance to vote for a living, breathing Constitutionalist, but can't figure it out without the media holding their hand says to me that government schooling has accomplished it's mission. As G.W. Bush might say, "Mission Accomplished" while holding up his thumb.
There are others, Ron Paul has started a Revolution. It is time to wake up, America, and remove the political blinders that you mistakenly believe drive you to vote strictly for your party. Your party no longer exists for your benefit. The Parties exist solely for the survival and advancement of their organizations and their hold on control of our government. A vote for either major party presidential candidate is a vote for continuing that stranglehold on each and every one of us
Liked your video. Just one point, Rush has said on the air he is not saying who he supports. One thing, Rush did say was he supported Pat Buchanan when he ran (Rush said that Jan. 4, 08) and he said the audience who has been listening to him for years should be able to see. I think Rush like Ron Paul specially because Ron Paul supporters are doing the work and capitalism is working. Rush is a conservative NOT a populist and Huckabee is a populist.
MatthewLeee- You're right. Huckabee can't justify his positions biblically. However, Ron Paul, being the devout Christian he is, CAN justify his positions biblically.
Former Italian President Francesco Cossiga, who revealed the existence of Operation Gladio, has told Italy's oldest and most widely read newspaper that the 9-11 terrorist attacks were run by the CIA and Mossad, and that this was common knowledge among global intelligence agencies. In what translates awkwardly into English, Cossiga told the newspaper Corriere della Sera:
Peace to the southern avenger even thou we differ in your apologies 4 slavery comments i do opinion also that RON PAUL is the best candidate in his mindset perhaps the true solutions 4 racial conflict maybe be found not this continuation of fairytales symbolized
by bush & these other candidates 4 prez,he makes me want to vote, who have never voted
Way to go man...great video. Everyone who reads this comment go to Hillary Clinton's YouTube and make a comment on her blog that says something like "VOTE FOR RON PAUL!!!!" ha ha...that would be awesome to see more Ron Paul comments on her site than her own...ha.
Another great commentary! As an 8 year USMC vet from the heart of Georgia, I think one small correction to explain Huckabee's comments. In principle he was right, but in practice our cowardly Congress abdicated their representative duties by not voting up or down for war. In effect, we as a nation were not involved in the war making process, so Huckabee's comments though truthful are moot.
"Oppression creates extremists, so maybe we might want to stop opressing people..."
Some persons fell opressed by us and some others fell liberated freed. YOU sould read about the causes of Islamism. A good book is "The Roots of Jihad", ritten by a former terrorist.
Jihad is not caused by "poverty" or "US imperialism".
Always the same boring response. Many islamists want to kill/convert us, and are determined to do so. And no, it's not just a "tiny minority" ! It's a large global mouvement.
I better look under my bed to find that boogie man terrorist. My god get a grip you scared little housewives! If we defeated Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan in a two front war SIMULTANEOUSLY, I think we can handle a few guys running around in their pajamas that can barely get across the monkey bars.
Where has critical thinking gone in this country...seriously???
Militant Islam is going to be around for a long time, and though the core of Mil Islam is not caused by oppression or imperialism, the oppression we inflict by occupying a region that *ALL* Muslims, moderate and otherwise, does incite hatred and becomes an effective recruiting mechanism.
War on Islamism? First of all it's Islam. You would have fit right in with the Nazi party. In fact are you part of the Nazi Party? Not all Islamics want to kill us. You are steriotyping. Furthermore, it is our fault that some of them hate us. We persecute nations and control their governments, putting in facist dictators and military rulers. If we showed a little more respect and didnt wage wars for no reason, or play around with politics of other nations, we would be more liked around the world
Actually you are very mistaken my friend. You might want to do some reading. I can suggest some books if you want. There are not very many extremist muslims, you are talking as if they all want us dead. Oppression creates extremists, so maybe we might want to stop opressing people...
You Rock. You are 100% correct. Ron Paul is the only one who is speaking truth to power in his world and you are every bit as truthful and honest as our candidate. Thank You for telling it like it is.
Ron Paul's rebel army is on the alert for hate-America infiltrators who come onto YouTube and other sites. Their telltale signs are: crack-head baiting,
racist-baiting, fascist-baiting, theocracy-baiting, xenophobe-baiting, homophobe-baiting, and inciting inter-Republican and inter-Christian strife. When caught in the act, they vocabularies quickly degenerate to four letter words, then animal sounds.
southernavenger, I agree with everything I've heard so far. I love the south, particularly Texas.
If you get a chance, please let me know what the Rebel Flag means to you. I am open minded to knowing if it means something other than keeping Blacks in bondage. It just disturbs me a little and would like it if it did not. Thank you, sir.
Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE knows that if the next Presidential Election is conducted correctly, with NO Hanky Panky at the polls or with the electronic voting machines, Ron Paul would win "Hands Down". We need Paper Ballot voting again, and the people watching all the voting boxes to make sure the bastards don't steal another election. This is our country and we need to take it back from the Corporate Elite Bastards.
Mike Hucabee has raised taxes many many times as governor. He is by far the most liberal governor in ARkansas history. The sad part is that he is a republican. How depressing..
We need more critical thinkers. It's sad how many people want to "rescue" the world at the cost of their own destruction. Our freedom and economy are in serious trouble. Please fix our HOME first, then we can help our neighbors...

As much as I love him and his position on policy as it relates to the constitution, reality, common sense and self preservation. I can't throw my vote down the wishing well. Please RON if you really love this country as much as I think you do, be truly independent in name and party. If that what it takes to get the job done, lets do it. I'll throw my Dem. status to the dogs and be there with you buddy.
allteeth 3 years ago
This is the reason Ron Paul didn't get more votes. The media has everyone thinking that RP is a fringe candidate with no chance. If people would just vote for who they beleive in he probably would have won the nomination, But because of people like YOU he didn't stand a chance.
jayrod59 3 years ago 9
Yes, I've had people tell me, "you know he dropped out right..?" No, he hasn't dropped out. And it's not only the slanted media we're contending with.. don't forget the diebold machines. Here in Texas 51% of the Republicans supposedly voted for McCain.. I'm having a hard time finding a single one of them.
NewKreature517 3 years ago
People like me? Are you oblivious? Do you think the the GOP would ever ever ever back him as a nominee? NO. The media wouldn't even give him air time. The REP candidates laughed in his face. The road was closed a long time ago. Its people like that that did it.
allteeth 3 years ago
NewKreature517 3 years ago
Amen, and well done. What is really too bad is that R.Paul will never be allowed to be a legit candidate by the Rep. party. He is too proud of his record of being a "real, and constitutional" Rep. to abandon his party in the hopes of a independent nomination...which he could and would get. Instead it will only serve to endanger the validity of the next best option.. a Dem in office. If he proceeds as such he will only Naderize, or dilute the vote and possible hand the country back to bushies.

Shutting down printing presses? check
Imprisoning or exiling political opponents? check Engaging in an illegal invasion? check Using troops to influence elections (1864 in Lincoln's case)? check Engaging in total war against civilians? check Read up on some history besides that approved by Jaffa or other Lincoln cultists; the comparison isn't too kooky as a matter of fact.
murphycline 3 years ago
Do you like the country he saved (for us)?
leguan1 3 years ago
I would have preferred our country as our forefathers originally intended it as opposed to the form that has existed following Lincoln, but yes I do like and appreciate the US. And there's a difference between maintaining the territorial integrity of the US and saving her. A federal republic that can be maintained by force against the will of the states and their people is no longer a true federal republic. I love the US despite of men like Lincoln, not because of him.
murphycline 3 years ago
Let's imagine: Lincoln lost. How do you see independent Confederacy in XXI? Name another country(ies) as a sample...
leguan1 3 years ago
There is no other country, in the history of the world, to compare what the founders created in our constitutional republic. So, there would still be a constitutional republic (the confederate south) and another country a nationalist sort like we have today in the 'north'.
There'd be free trade, diplomacy, the south would be wealthy beyond all imagination and the north would be... where we are today- mired in empire bldg, corporatism, collectivism. :-(
anyusmoon1 3 years ago
Uh, its questionable. Lincoln created a nationalist mentality vs state sovereignty and sovereignty of We the People.
anyusmoon1 3 years ago

Nerfball6 4 years ago
You should still vote Ron Paul. Vote for the BEST candidate and if we lose, we lose.
jsyc07 4 years ago 5
So, what you say is that we should just vote for the "winners" that are picked by the media? The U.S. is so blind and controled today by the media it is like the show The War Of The Worlds. The media said it was true or made a comment in this manner or that so that is what we must belive or do.

SA- Great piece.

In what translates awkwardly into English, Cossiga told the newspaper Corriere della Sera:

Durandal1492 4 years ago
"Not all Islamics want to kill us."
Always the same boring response. Many islamists want to kill/convert us, and are determined to do so. And no, it's not just a "tiny minority" ! It's a large global mouvement.
Durandal1492 4 years ago
I better look under my bed to find that boogie man terrorist. My god get a grip you scared little housewives! Islam is differenet than Fascism, my friend, abd it has been around for 1400 yrs.
See "Islam is the enemy" by this same Southern Avenger.
Durandal1492 4 years ago
Militant Islam is going to be around for a long time, and though the core of Mil Islam is not caused by oppression or imperialism, the oppression we inflict by occupying a region that *ALL* Muslims, moderate and otherwise, does incite hatred and becomes an effective recruiting mechanism.
Vindispite 4 years ago
War is disgusting.
Ezekiel199 4 years ago
War is correct.
But having elections in the middle of Dar Al-Islam won't defeat Islamism.
We must wage war on Islamism, not "terrorism".
Durandal1492 4 years ago
War on Islamism? First of all it's Islam. You would have fit right in with the Nazi party. In fact are you part of the Nazi Party? Not all Islamics want to kill us. You are steriotyping. Furthermore, it is our fault that some of them hate us. We persecute nations and control their governments, putting in facist dictators and military rulers. If we showed a little more respect and didnt wage wars for no reason, or play around with politics of other nations, we would be more liked around the world
danmartinell123 4 years ago
Tsss... Islam is very alike with Nazism, as Hitler's Mutfi demonstrates.
"Terrorism" is a way to fight, a weapon. Waging war on terror is like waging war on crossbows.
Islam is the problem. See "Islam is the Enemy" by Southern Avenger.
Durandal1492 4 years ago
Actually you are very mistaken my friend. You might want to do some reading. I can suggest some books if you want. There are not very many extremist muslims, you are talking as if they all want us dead. Oppression creates extremists, so maybe we might want to stop opressing people...
