  • i use to work at circuit city...i still have the shirt...some good and bad times there

  • I grew up with Circuit City :/

  • This is soo sad it makes me wanna cry because in my old town there only was a c-city no best buy so I grew up with it = (

  • NOOOOOO WHAT THE FUCK NO FUCK OBOMBA FUCK FUCK FUCK I GO THERE EVERYDAY! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • Come and Check out this Bomb video Inside of Circuit City and some of the Awesome things that use to go on from drinkin beer on the job to Fuckin around and why it Sucked that we went out of buisness

  • @impulsewithMiggyVee whats the name of the video cause it looks cool!

  • I have a related video on YouTube about 1950s independent television set dealers that are still in business entitled, "TV MAN: THE SEARCH FOR THE LAST INDEPENDENT DEALER," that might be of interest.

  • i still cant believe it. i hope best buy never goes out or i am doomed.

  • They did this to themselves. Bad locations for some stores. And also bad business. Remember the Circuit City DIVX (Digital Video Express)?

  • you can tell it's closed because a "We Are Closed" sign is emerging from 0:20-0:22

  • Someone bought CC!!! THEY'RE BACK!!!

  • no, they bought the website

  • oh well i didn't know. thanks for telling me!

  • As online retailers.

  • I would like to see wal-mart go because I hate that store. But one day I was going to circut city and once I got there the parking lot was vacant and it wa closed, Because I thought they werent closing for another week. I have a 50 dollar gift card for circcut city and now its worthless

  • Circuit City's sister company in Canada known as "The Source" may be able to help you out if you can travel up there. Find a store you can travel to and try to talk to a store manager and see if they can negotiate a deal for the value of the card. One of their stores in Ontario worked out a deal for me with a gift card I had.

  • Too much businesses in the same field should go to auto-destruction! - The Hi-Tech field is satured and hundreds of businesses close their doors!

  • Circuit City was trying to do what Kmart did 5 years ago but it's blew up in thier face.

  • "MABEY THE ECOMOMY" wtf ?

  • i dont think it was the economy, i think its called BEST BUY and WAL*MART!!!!!!!!!

  • walmart is a peice of shit im boycotting walmat

  • Agreed

  • and ccitys ceo that took 30 mill from the company to stand down...

  • did she say "and its doors were SHUTTERED for good"????

  • yeah, and that's when a "we are closed" sign appears

  • Funny as shit!

    (**0:34.**.).

  • dumb ass he was continuing but they cut him off.

    dip shit

  • No shit, Deet-dee-dee. I was poking fun at the way he said it, as you can already tell, but, I take it your lack of a sense-of-humor's doing all the work for you.

  • People like me who have a sense-of-humor would disagree, so, I'm not even gonna bother continuing to argue with you...

  • @Coelacanth1938 Sorry but I fucking blocked your fucking ass shithead.

  • "..I'm just assuming that... it... maybe... the economy..."

hmmmm ya think genius, or how about this

"...because the OTHER companies are bigger, they are monopolizing..."

hey Einstein, by deffinition, if there are 'other companies' then it can't be a monopoly....

Jeseus H. Christ, this country is full of morons, and uuhhhhh maybe it's cuz they're dumb....

  • curcuit city sux

  • circuit city got owned

  • if only walmart would go under....

  • One of the worst, miss managed companies ever. I went to there everything is 50% off Going out of business sale and the items marked down where still more then any other store even at %50 off.

  • LOL

  • hahaha! I live in Rockville, Maryland. I just went to that exact store a couple of days ago and all they were selling was TV cables. I hated that store, they had the laziest workers i have ever seen! They were never much help and disorganized.

  • ...and people still think the stimulus will actually help people.

  • They'll be back, but they have to start as a Circuit Village and gradually regain power.

  • wow that dude is a dumbass hick

  • damn!!!!!!!

  • good I'm glad they had to close down, their cust svc sucked and their prices were too high, they got what they gave. =)

  • i feel bad for their employees

the circuit city near me closed yesterday after it changed everything to 80% off. i walked in and all that was left was a table with some blu ray dvd players on it the store was completly empty.

  • most people in my school got their electronics there for free. security was bad in that particular store. little things add up, too bad for CC. the staff are trained to work in other stores, that's a plus for getting another job.

  • You know Circut City always had a great selection and they did have good service. I think they grew too much in a market where there was already limited demand that became more competitive.

I just know the circut city near my house was probably always too big of a store for what they sold. At the same time they had a large variety of customers whose individual needs they did a good job meeting.

For me I just never needed to go in there more then once a year or two at most.

  • i have a feeling that the people who did shop there were always happy and continued their normal shopping. I just am not sure how much Circut City ever expanded their customer base.

Best Buy and all those other places brought people comming in for things like CD's and DVD's, lots of marketing. I always got better service at Circut City and it was closer but just never could think of something I needed there. Kinda like a big Radio Shack, which can be great if you work in electronics etc.

  • The employees are the ones that lose in this scenario. Circuit City was never competitive in its pricing. Not even when they were liquidating their merchandise before closing down.

  • i think they probably had realistic pricing but it was its competitors who shaved costs to make themselves more competitive. Seemed like Best Buy etc where putting in a lot of money into growth, marketing and Circut City didn't need to grow as much as tinker.

I always thought that they had higher costs because they actually paid their employees a decent wage. Maybe I'm wrong. Just don't think they were attracting enough new customers.

  • We've always had the same if not lower prices than anyone else. We also had a price match guarantee that would mark down the price 10% off the difference as long as the item is in stock at the store where you saw it. And yes they paid us well!

  • I remember that. I liked the atmosphere and policies of circut city. I just think it lost out to places like Best Buy and others most likely just off of marketing and trying to have products. The difference is amazing to many. I can't think of anything right now I need or want to buy that Circut City would have..I could go into Best Buy to look at DVDs though and think about comming back for a computer or camera. That seems important.

Glad they paid well. Need more of that.

  • Great point. I figured since Circuit City were liquidating their merchandise I'd be able to find great deals, but that was far from the case. In fact, much of their merchandise either had the same exact prices, or was marked down just a minor amount of money. If a big screen TV was previously $1599.99, they would have it marked down to $1549.99 once liquidation started. WTF?! If the TV wasn't purchased before, do they actually think people will flock 2 get it by taking off a measley 50 bucks???

  • NO MORE PUT IT ON MY credit card those day's are over NO more zero down NO money no buying power the USA is made up of FREE credit but the world is not going to put up with it any more the USA is in so much debt that it will Collapse in two more year's since it as no more PONZI SCHEME CALL SUBPRIME SCHEME BUT THE OTHER BIGGEST SCHEME MADE UP BY USA IS CALL FAKE Democracy No more super Power OR FREE MONEY NO MORE BIG GDP!! double standard's ---> USA

  • LOL. But you know they will just go somewhere else and steal them.

  • :-/ dang, first compusa, now this :(

  • I just applied at compusa...

  • hmm, my friend lives in california, he said the compusa stores went out of business 6 months ago. I live in north carolina, and they also went out of business here.

  • CC was like a ghetto Best Buy.

  • RIP GM, C, BAC

    Dead men walking.

  • I always shopped at Frys. Too bad for the people that worked there though.

  • Yeah, Fry's had circuit city beat hands down as far as being the best electronics superstore around. I never bought anything at CC ever; just stopped in their once to look around and I couldn't believe how high the prices were. It's sad about all the employees however losing their jobs. That's pretty sad.

  • thanks george.

  • This is sad; in my hometown area they just opened up a brand new Circuit City this past September, now the store is empty and out of business.

    What a bummer....

  • i liked CIrcuit CIty.. SCREW BEST BUY.. RIP CIRCUIT CITY

  • Another one bites the dust. Citibank next?

  • Damn, what do i do with this $5 gift card in my wallet now?

  • damn, made my day. LOL.

  • You should've spent it when they had the styrofoam available for $5.

  • Circuit City sucked, they overcharged for their products.

  • haha!

  • i'll really miss this store

  • too sad! always liked them much much better than best buy...a lot of jobs lost! RIP Circuit City lol

  • OMG. You know, davenergy, you ARE right. CC had no reason to close shop. The only thing I can reason is that the employee theft was the culprit for the demise of CC. With all the advances in technology, there was no excuse for CC to go under. None. Their financial woes could only be due to employee theft. CC agressively sought out consumers to pay on time or sold the debt. But the closing definitely had to be an insider problem.

  • Try this for why they went out of business. I went there a month ago and found a vidio camer that I was going to buy for $400.00 I could not find a salesman to get it out of the case for me. Then I heare another salesman complaining to the boss that the other guy that was supposed to be helping him was over in the computer department playing ont the comp. I walked into the conversation and told them they just lost a $400.00 dollar sale and left. Went to best buy and got it for $350.00.

  • That by itself is a $50.00 dollar savings but wait. They gave me a 60" tripod with it and a camera case and a spare battery that sells for $85.00. They were thieves that is why they are out of business.

  • @rhosey001

Best buy always was cheaper and had better customer service. I hated circuit city.

  • @rhosey001 ont the comp?

  • urgh. sad.

  • That's a lot of people without jobs.

  • even more, yes.

  • @boxingarms you said it

  • This is EXACTLY what should happen to the American Auto industry as well, particularly GM.

  • RIP GM

  • Yes it should, but there is a risk.

  • I bought my last flat screen TV from Circuit City. The next week Best Buy had the same exact TV for more than a third less. Needless to say, Im not feeling bad that they closed down because those guys wouldn't give me the difference back and I now I can't even use the warranty. Crooks.

  • i experienced similar thing. u have to do your homework. don't trust going out of business sale sign and 70% off discount sign.

i bought some pants at Mervyn's going out of business sale but i found out Rose sale them for similar price. where is the huge going out of business discount they were talking about?

  • good riddance

  • That's amazing. With the technology boom in the last decade and a half, they should have been good to go. I wonder what they will say is the cause.

  • what about my warranties ?

  • your warranties are thru the manufacturer

  • lol thats what i was thinking

  • If you have a problem on something with warranty purchased on or after Dec. 1, 2006 call 1.800.878.1167 or 1.800.286.0470 for TVs, and for everthing else call 1.800.878.1167
