I watched my borther in law die of lung cancer and I can tell you it is no walk in the park. He smoked about 10 a day (max) and he was only 40. In fact I have lost many friends and fmaily memebers to cancer over the years, some slowly die but lung cancer sufferers really really really really suffer an unbearable agonising death. I beleive that smokers who want to give up need to go to a chest hospital or hospice to get some real motivation. I hope the President stops smoking for good.

@dragonhide101 let me tell u something, advertising can be so much more effective if it wasn't an interruption, people are willing to watch it and withstand it if it isnt given to you as a punishment. Advertising on the wed is like pop up windows or music or audio, as soon as people perceived it they close the window. Youtube should know better

@weirdguy75 Don't hope you keep it up, do it. I quit over 2 months ago cold turkey after 7 years of a pack- 2 packs a day. I realized the truth about smoking. 1 Understand there is NOTHING enjoyable about smoking period end of story. It tastes like shit, it causes stress, it makes meals less enjoyable, it makes social occasions less enjoyable etc. 2 withdrawals are minor, you convinced you're giving something up is what makes them so horrible. 3 life as a non smoker is 100 times better.

@NoPwn87 I agree with that for the most part. However I think that instead of a minor getting in trouble with the law for having a cigarette, I think the parents should take care of the situation. I dont like the government going in and raising kids for their parents. However I do think that the smoking age should be 18 to prevent kids from buying.

@kramer3214 The smoking age should be at least 18, it was way too easy for me to get cigarettes even at 15 or 16. Without that experience I would probably be tobacco free. Are you saying the parents should be punished by law? That would be interesting, but I don't think it would be fair. Parent's cannot always control their kids as well as they should. Just because their child is a delinquent parents should not be punished.

Any smoker or former smoker will tell you there's no such thing as "falling off the wagon". You either quit or you don't. I smoked for 10 years and started back by lighting up ONE cigarette. I quit again after another 15 years and haven't touched one since because as any smoker will tell you, it only takes one puff and you're back!!!

Smoking does not affect my day to day life, and I'm guessing it doesn't affect Obama's either. He has what has to be one of the most stressful jobs in the world, if he needs a release let him have it. Smoking was wrong in HIGH SCHOOL, time to grow up.

@TreyLutrash I always looked at it like a public service. When society collapses, smokers that have cancer will die quickly, freeing up food and resources for others. Over population is a problem man, I'm just trying to help. Smoking is a part of the culture. Yeah we know it's bad and yeah to some people it smells bad; but what part of that makes it wrong? The fact that it kills your or that people don't like it? Drugs in all forms are powerful things, let them help you.
