Arrested for saying or doing something that was "offensive"--according to the police officer. Is there a Gay Pride Parade held every year in every city in America? Is there anything offensive about men masterbating in the middle of the street? Yet this is ignored, probably by the very same police officers. Dude you need to check out Team Law then you will never have to fear being arrested because you know you would always win in court and receive compensation for the wrongful arrest. It would be like getting preach because cops are ignorant. He needs a warrant to arrest you even in this situation. Cops can only arrest without a warrant when they see a felony in progress. If they see a misdemeanor they need a warrant before they can lawfully arrest.

@thebeave89 God is real, but I'm not convinced in my spirit that he is a man that is called of God. It says in scripture to be submissive to authority. He was not. I did not see any manifestation of God's Holy Spirit on him either. The true problem I believe is that he is confused regarding what a preacher is and how to delineate if God has called you to be a preacher. Christ didn't buck when He was taken before Pilot. Freedom of speech doen't let you bypass laws or others freedom (be on private property, extensively harass or stalk, disturb the peace by using amplification, slander reputations, plot crimes, etc). The Constitution does not guarantee our right to be heard, it guarantees our right to free speech. The preacher would have been arrested if he was to just show up and talk about a movie he saw, or any book he had read.

Yes, the gospel is offensive to people. This is the point. The preacher was simply trying to preach and let God show through him, of course it would be offensive if you're trying to save souls. The officer even said "why are you doing this?" really? Oh I don't know, maybe because I have a God who is merciful, a God who I can run to, a God who I know will forgive the lost like he did me. That is the time in which we have heard the gospel and the Holy Spirit has revealed unto us our sins and let us know that God no longer holds us blameless. If a man is drawn by the Holy Spirit that he should come to repent and believe on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for him to be indwelt by the Spirit, can that person still reject the wooing of the Holy Spirit? You fail to see the way that the writers drew comparison to the carnal man and the spiritual man. We will NEVER be free from sin. @CBALLEN But He failed to be willing to follow Christ. Christ gave him the commandment to sell all he owned, give it to the poor and follow Him, KNOWING that the young man would not do it. So though Christ knew his mind, the offer was still made. We are ALL predestined to come to Christ. But not all will FULFILL our destiny to come to know Christ. Those that openly reject the Father will by default be "children of the devil" for refusing the adoption into the Holy family.

Dude you need to check out Team Law then you will never have to fear being arrested because you know you would always win in court and receive compensation for the wrongful arrest. It would be like getting preach because cops are ignorant. He needs a warrant to arrest you even in this situation. Cops can only arrest without a warrant when they see a felony in progress. If they see a misdemeanor they need a warrant before they can lawfully arrest.

@thebeave89 God is real, but I'm not convinced in my spirit that he is a man that is called of God. It says in scripture to be submissive to authority. He was not. I did not see any manifestation of God's Holy Spirit on him either. The true problem I believe is that he is confused regarding what a preacher is and how to delineate if God has called you to be a preacher. Christ didn't buck when He was taken before Pilot. He held silent. Sometimes silence is a greater witness than loud speech.

The Holy Spirit when it works in the heart of man IS authoratative, but it is not disrespectful. He was trying to create a martyrdom in his prosecution. There are several Christian and prayer events on the Centre Square during the course of the year--do you think if someone decided to 'preach' a counter message and refused to move on during one of those, the result would be any different? He deliberately got himself arrested--he was warned repeatedly. A wingnut, not a martyr or victim.

I mostly agree. Freedom of speech doen't let you bypass laws or others freedom (be on private property, extensively harass or stalk, disturb the peace by using amplification, slander reputations, plot crimes, etc). I also agree that the guy was being obnoxious. But f.o.s. does guarantee that the state can't stop you based on the CONTENT of your words - and that was exactly the justification for this arrest. That people don't LIKE hearing Biblical hell threats doesn't legitimize arrest.
