Great video! One of the advantages of this method is that the seedlings do not have to be taken out of their container before planting thus preventing damage to the roots and minimizing shock. I'm using the insides of toiletrolls and when I cut them in half they are the perfect size. I flatten them and put a rubber band around them for compact storage. When I want to use them I make another fold which leaves me with a square 'roll'. Fits perfectly in a plastic container. Good luck with those!
Yahhhh Claire and her paper rolls. I 've been collecting mine to plant the many many seeds I want to plant my first Spring. I am trying straight in the garden and in the rolls to see how they go. Great vid. This is going to be an exciting year for us.
Also, on those rolls u can take a black permanent marker and mark what each thing is before u put the dirt in and u dont need a marker or stick...even wet u can see what they are...works for me anyway.
LOL bet I know where u got that toilet roll idea, same place I did..from Claire, works really great, too! Christian, did u get a new cam cuz last 2 videos have been awfully bright..u look surreal on here, haha
very cool. I never thought of using paper towel tubes I always use the Jiffy Peat Pots =] . Good to see your getting started. Ahh spring were about to be in fall/winter here ugh I hate not having those warm days to be outside lol.
toilet paper rolls seems the way to go! and I don't mean that as a pun.. but the peat pots I don't like how they widen at the top seems a waist of space and a dark place for mold to grow underneath.
and the plastic stuff just is not nice to have around.
Hey good to see you back man. Good luck with the new season, unfortunately we missed our chance for winter/spring crops, and it's likely going to be too dry for summer crops, damn!
Have you grown red Russian kale or Lacinato kale? I'm coming into fall soon. what do you plant for fall/winter? thanks!

The good thing about the winter for us here is the homemade soups and breads and using things we preserved from our garden =]
