  • I LOVE your fret board .

  • Some1 has probably already asked, but is this in standard tuning?

  • @zach128512

    Yes it is.

  • I. Just. Died.

  • I'd love to see (hear?) a combination of this effect and the uilleann pipes from Vol.12 - You really are a master of your craft, Bill.

  • As super weird as this sounds.........

This past August I was canoeing down the Patomic River.....hot....sunny...few clouds. On my left were the Appalachians in Maryland....on the right were the Appalachians in Virginia. As I was enjoying myself, what did I have stuck in my head, but this? Especially the part with the tin whistle.

  • @Jungleboy867

Thanks that is a cool story!

    That made my day.

    Bill

  • This is SO COOL I envy you!

  • any distortion on the amp? or just clean channel?

  • @kalli199

Just clean and neutral or flat sounding.

    Think Fender clean.

  • I love how the phase shifter instantly conjures the old Arp string synthesizer sound of yore. Great! Nice fingerings for the jig part at 1:47!

  • more more!!

  • I also know it's Ruppert, but the stupid predictive text changed it. I also got a POG2 and say every guitarist should get one. The past three days have been me trying to learn how to play what I'm hearing differently than normal. It's the coolest practice tool I've ever had.

  • I mean this in all seriousness....

    1. Hendrix

    2. Rupert

The sounds you create are pure genius and there is only one man above you in terms of using everything available to blow our minds. Please keep these videos coming. They're inspiring me and countless others to keep digging for new sounds, notes and colors with our playing.

  • You need to do a whole song with the "whistle" tone!!!!! ASAP!

    : )

  • How did you get the effect at 1:41?

  • @broandypants

Big Muff into a Cathedral reverb set with super long reverb.

Kill the muff right after the hit to allow just the reverb decay to be heard.

EQ with bass and mid boost.

  • this is the greatest series on you tube

  • TITANIC, BRO. FUCKIN' TITANIC.

  • Would anybody be willing to post the chord progression? I've been trying to figure it out with no luck. Thanks.

  • @Johnius Yeah i want the chord progression too :'(!

  • I know the Effectology series is all about using a common guitar to make all these sounds, but... would you do an episode using a Bass?

  • Are. You. Kidding. Me.

Bill, you top yourself with each new video. Incredible.

  • questions, posible use hog with exp. pedal, instead of pog and v.pedal?

    thanks

  • @slava1000000

Yes try the strings with the HOG.

The Tin Whistle may be harder to get with the HOG.

Try one octave up for that...

  • Tin whistle? I thought it was a pan flute. Prob the same thing im just to stupid to know eh?

  • What to say? Beyond of: Amazing, Wonderful and Beautiful !!!

  • what kind of expression pedal are you using?

  • @sm80808

    Boss-FV-500

  • @Effectology H or L??

  • @freeburn2010

H if you use the volume pedal in front of any effects or amp and L if after pedals or in effect loop.

I use the L as I always have pedals in front or use the expression pedal mode of the FV-500L

  • wow, beautiful just beautiful. i love how relaxing this is, especially that. wut genre of music is it, and u should make a whole sound with this

  • you should cover the lord of the rings soundtrack in this style.

  • awesome

  • Everytime I see an effectology vid, I feel like standing up and applauding.

  • What the heck!? Why can't I think of stuff like this!!!???

  • That's a beautiful guitar... is it Ibanez?

  • Thanks, its a great sounding and playing guitar.

    It a Ibanez Jem FP77, vintage 1988

  • WOW!!!

    Amazing Bill.

Keep up these videos coming. Please take us far away from the Roland GR and GK.

  • Awesome!!!!

  • Sweet.... They make it look easy. I wonder how long it took to tweak it all out.

  • wow that was super freaky!!

  • Lovely - great timbres and nice lines (and cool clean sneakers too!) - bravo!

  • I would love to just go to a room full of Electro Harmonix for one day pedals and do all these!

  • That's amazing. I'm Irish so I get sick of all the diddly eye music we're exposed to, but now I want my guitar to sound like a Tin Whistle too haha

  • How much of this could be done with a HOG? Just curios.

  • st pattys day!

  • I wish these would come out more frequently they are outstanding!

  • WOW!

  • If Bill Ruppert put out an album, I would buy it.

  • Unique! I'm speechless!

  • These videos always blow my mind, but man that was just crazy!

  • What is that opening clip from?

  • @g0shu4

Its an old Irish folk song called down by Sally's garden.

  • @Effectology

What about the opening video clip, with the kid making the synth?

  • FUCKING AMAZING! I so wanna play the Lord of Rings Hobbit Theme

  • @Takiado me too!

  • Hallo? I cant leave a comment, and I wanted to say something nice.

  • Perfect man, just perfect...and amazing yet again.

  • Awesome.
