Rape - which is what sex abuse is - is NOT about sex; it is about power. The intentional misuse of power & the position of authority of a priest. But not all the abuse is strictly sexual. Hitting, non-sexual & unwanted touching, coercion, emotional/psychological pressure, humiliation, etc. are all classified as Abuse by psychologists.

In terms of occult 'spirituality' the concept of pansexuality is key. The sex preference of the person is irrelevant; that 'it's all good' is the mode of thinking. @joy2559 Yes,we are agreed on this 100%. I have read major portions of the Ryan & Fearns reports from Ireland, so I understand the mechanics of how the systematic abuse worked. With relatively few abusers victimizing thousands over time.

We see in this that they groomed certain kids to become abusers; to join the orders/priesthood & abuse the next generation. A psychological setup.

Indeed many victims committed suicide or were self destructive in addictions.

@19lfm12 yes here in england it was two social workers responsible for hundreds of cases of child abuse, I know some of the victims, two have tried suicide, the others are covered in slash marks,in my view this should not happening in this day and age.

The biggest problem is that many ppl think that the kids 'deserved it' as punishment, or 'so the kid got paddled - big deal". It's not just that they do not care; they have been conditioned to think that "abuse is normal".

Well, it is NOT....and cause great trauma & harm to kids!

@joy2559 In the US there is an order founded to care for priests & religious who are abusers & addicts: the Servants of the Paraclete. Their founder was a very good priest who saw - in the 1940s (!) - how serious & widespread the abuse problem was.

He knew abusers were incurable & wanted to buy a private island where they would live out the rest of their lives. With NO possible contact with kids.

The US bishops refused to allow him to do this....and replaced him as head of the order......:)

I blame Maltese society and the Roman Catholic Establishment. This is NOT the only case - in Malta such abuse has been rampant behind the closed doors of orphanages for ages. Whenever a case comes to light, there's some talk about it but no one gets convicted, and the suspects vanish. Maltese people, as a rule, dont care - orphans are not important here -the government doesnt even have orphanages - they're all owned by the church, which is convenient both for the government and for the church.
