Well actually, it's an M4A1 to be specific. An M4 without the A1 part has a non detachable carry handle.

Oh and metal bb guns CANNOT be turned into real guns, you must be thinking of blank firing replicas - some of them can be converted. Airsoft guns lack the required parts, all that you could use is the stock and furniture, to be honest, from an airsoft gun.

the barrel is too short for an M16 you silly people. the stock doesn't really matter as you can put an easy adjust stock on an M16, but it pretty much becomes an M4 once you make it compact by downsizing the barrel's length.
