I believe you are incorrect. The Shotokai under Egami Sensei worked hard to develop a more relaxed system and the speed seems quite real including the jump. These films are quite extraordinary .

Nice. I think the speed of the old film is contributing to the impression that it is relaxed. If you look at the jump, that can't be real time.
