So to test the theory that they took the ad down because of the leaf... how about putting on ad up with big bold text "Legalize Marijuana" if this is removed then you no know it was not because of the leaf.

No one thinks it's ironic that they take down an ad because of a LEAF, but women and little girls are allowed to post sexually suggestive pictures and show everything except the actual private parts? I got my account deleted because I took a picture of my throat, which I admit, could be seen as disturbing to some who don't know what the inside of your mouth looks like. Yet endless bikini or bra-in-the-mirror shots are added and overlooked. What a silly world.

I think this touches on an issue that is underlying the ENTIRE pot issue. I think the people who oppose pot don't really oppose pot, they oppose the tacky culture that has insisted for the last 50 years upon putting that pot leaf in the faces of the squares. In that, I'm thinking there'd be more physical damage (or psychological damage in that matter) for those who smoke it. Secondhand smoke-damage would be an issue as well, meaning marijuana would affect everyone. So, related to the facebook add, I just find that advertising something like this isn't so great.

Pot rules, if you smoke it, it is worse then tobacco, but taking it in other ways is probably one of the most helpful drugs that we know of today. and is very beneficial for many people(many, many People)

@NathanHaselhorst Well, I'm generally against the legalization of marijuana just because of the fact that there'd be a lot of people who abuse the substance (..or atleast in my vision...). In that, I'm thinking there'd be more physical damage (or psychological damage in that matter) for those who smoke it. Secondhand smoke-damage would be an issue as well, meaning marijuana would affect everyone. So, related to the facebook add, I just find that advertising something like this isn't so great.

@NathanHaselhorst Of course, marijuana has its pros. This is just my opinion, I'm sure it can be viewed totally incorrect through your eyes, which I'm fine with. I know people don't like the term "gateway drug", but I find that people will be demanding more with the legalization of marijuana.
And remember, marijuana is illegal and the majority of users on Facebook are teenagers. I just don't think that's a good match.
But what do I know, I'm only a 16-year-old boy. :)

as far as I support cannabis legalisation I have one very important restriction:- anyone under 21 years of age should avoid it like the plague and be patient == once your brain is matured enough then smoke it until then avoid all contact!
we have some idea it affects the brain but until ur brain is mature it can cause mental illness in those under 21's therefore treat it exactly like alcohol and tobacco but u cant tax personal growers unless u earn > VAT thresholds...

Marijuana will not cause mental illness. Youth should not be using it simply because they are not responsible. Not because of imaginary health problems the ignorant masses thinks it might cause.
young people haven't learned the simple philosophy that there is a time and place for everything and would use it at inappropriate times. - Like during study or work. that is the only reason to keep it from young people.

@34601k - the ads are not for selling marijuana. the ads aren't even implying that anyone should break the law. to the contrary, they are trying to get the laws changed so people aren't breaking laws by using a peaceful herb put on this planet by God / the Universe. at one time alcohol was illegal, but they finally figured out prohibition does not work. the same is true with cannabis. its a shame Facebook is SO close-minded.

I don't agree with them taking it down but cannabis is illegal so the best way to get it legalized is maybe promote more awareness. I live very near San Fransisco and surprisingly I haven't seen ANYTHING related to the legalization of cannabis so yeah.

We have enough toxic substances as it is. I'm going into grade 11, and I must say, you would not believe how many guys there are that do marijuana, which certainly affects their academic performance and overall behavior. I just don't want to see more people ruining their lives like that.
