  • Beautiful...

  • never make comaparisons between singers from diffeternt lands. while this man is good, a willie he will never be. no disrespect meant

  • lets put this straight. jimmy buckley NEVER had a band called "nitefall"... sean and the lads gave the boy a break when he sang for them. NITEFALL WAS NOT BUCKLEYS BAND...as advertised on his site.

  • The best country singer this side of the atlantic bar none

  • The great Charley Moore did a wonderful job also!!!!!!

  • great version of a classic - take a bow......

  • WOW!!! Love the song, but never felt W Nelson, Elvis, even H Williams did it justice.

This is the best version I've ever heard.

  • i have seen him brilliant night

  • Good version, but no one sings this like Slim Whitman

  • this Song almost good, but he sings very super, version..... like it

  • Could have been to hear Jimmy recently locally but wasn't really well at that time, would have loved to be there. Sorry Jimmy, I'll maybe catch you next time!

  • ive seen him him at a barndance in ireland hahaa

  • great vocal performance! if it weren't for the rather un-inspired backdrop i should like this version as much as willie's.

  • Rockinbillyboy you;re right on. Fred Rose it was, Fred Rose who wrote songs for Gene Autry and was many years with Chess Records in Chicago.

that company which recorded all those great songs by McKinley Morganfield,

    aka Muddy Waters

  • Awesome rendition of a golden oldie. I was singing that before I ever knew who Willie was. Thanks for sharing.

  • One of my favourite songs, what a lovely singer. thanks Kate 285

  • so did i ,great that is a long time ago

  • up clare

  • tats a lovely song jimmy has a really beautiful voice

  • i love this song by most singers, except the writer, the writer usually does the best on any song they have writen.

  • Love his voice and he does this song as good as any other. He is right up there with the best in my opinion.

  • Love this song by Foster & Allen but this guy does a great job too.

  • why are clare folk so clannish?????????????

  • Best version i've heard.

    Well done to you.

  • The composer and the only person that can sing this song properly is Willie Nelson. This guy tries to imitate and there is no originality.

  • i have news for you pardner, Willie is good, but Jimmy is better and you can take that from a born TEXAN.

  • because clearly being born in texas makes your opinion on country music more valid than anyone else's

  • I don't agree.I find this version excellent. Can someone tell me who's the composer and original singer of this wonderful classic? TY very much.

  • The song was written in 1945 by Fred Rose and if I am not mistaken

was first recorded by the Carter Family.

I hope this helps, ..and i do agree,..it is a wonderful classic.

    (Belfast)

  • Also covered by Willie Nelson!

  • not your usual standard
