  • Cool!

  • Could use some more Greg Hawkes. The keyboards are a bit under mixed. Much better than I would have expected though.

  • @CultureFusionSite IMO just the opposite, this a decent song but a little much on the synth. What the song is lacking is one of Elliot Eastons killer guitar solos.

  • Awesome song! The cars rock ...

  • sorry about the double post just so stoked !!!

  • anyone seeing real madrid tv?

  • Thanks for the videos!

  • the drumbeat in the refrain reminds me of the drumbeat at the beginning of "Touch and Go"

  • killer schwag. smells good. performs sweeter. i adore this

  • Still got it, still real!

  • I remember when I went to Starbucks and got a little card that gave me a free download of this song. I was jammin' out to it for weeks. xD But this song never gets old.

  • I wanna' try n' shuffle to this song o_O

  • Found my time machine back to the 80's.

  • @shroyuken lly listen to, but I still like it.

  • Guys, I like rock. I run AC/DC, Metallica, FFDP, Slipknot etc. all day. This song isn't as hard as the stuff I usua

  • Love this -- Classic Cars Sound!!!

  • OMFG music really does exist today!

  • Never change Cars!

  • Music DOES exist..

  • @bigfootsize18 More power to you my friend!

  • God this is such a good song. It's comforting to know that good music can still be made these days. LOVED THE CARS AT LOLLAPALOOZA!!!

  • I just noticed the album cover seems to be a nod to Boston's greatest sports teams - Patriots, RedSox, Bruins and Celtics.

  • HERP DERP MY OPINIONS ARE THE ONLY VALID OPINIONS ON THE PLANET AND IF YOU DISAGREE WITH ME YOU DO NOT DESERVE THE RIGHT TO FREEDOM OF THOUGHT AND I WILL SHIT MY OPINIONS ALL OVER THE COMMENTS SECTION OF A YOUTUBE VIDEO BECAUSE I HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO. Christ, people, shut the hell up and listen to the music.

  • To end all arguments, Pink Floyd and The Beatles are both very influential in their own rights.

Carry on, and please stop arguing about this in a Cars video.

  • @Legman124 eys AND ME!! HAHA Holger

  • Why is there an argument about the Beatles on a Cars song?

  • Awesome, glad to hear them again. The 70's was my High School era and we enjoyed them as much as we do now. Thanks for posting this. Don from Oregon

  • This is so retro, I love it!

  • No, must give the Beatles props. Many, many unforgettable songs. Still, I love The Cars and miss Benjamin Orr. If you don't understand it's your bad.

  • nice they should of put this one on the new transformers 3 it would of been a nice rocking song for a rocking movie it would of fit in nicely while shia was going around looking for a job when he was down about not having one micheal bay please hire me IM GOOD...

  • To the haters in denial, the Beatles are the most influential ever. If all four were alive and staged a reunion show, it would have to be staged in Siberia with seats selling all the way to Thailand because the whole WORLD would be there.

  • @nipseysparkles dude da beatles were the most overrated band ever!!! Paul macartney has not had a hit song in over 30 years..if he was so great how come???? george Harrison had more talent than both lennon and paul combined.. which showed by the amount of hits Harrison had in the 70s and 80s..your funny dude!!!!

  • @collin355 I don't usually argue on YouTube, but Paul McCartney and John Lennon were easily two of the most talented musicians of the past century. Now, I will admit that George Harrison was my favorite Beatle, BUT I sincerely believe that John was more talented, and Paul was as well. You know what, screw it, all four were just about as talented as they come. Petty disputes over which was more talented are pointless.

  • @wiiman250 Now Harrison had talent..but if paul has so much talent than how come the guy has had nothing as far as musci goes in 30 years???

  • This shit rocks.

  • rick could sing the directions to make craft dinner, and i,d groove to it.

  • WOW they havent changed a bit....AWSOME

  • Wow time stood still for these guys they sound the same as they did 25 years ago . Great Music !!!!!!!!

  • i never thought they could come back and be so great after.. gosh, 25 years! good job boys, i'm so glad u keep on rockin'

  • they sound GREAT, so glad they are back

  • hell yeah a "NEW" Cars album.

  • Hell ya! The Cars rock!!!

  • I like it

  • heartbeat city

  • Nope, sorry, I'm a retro boomer, big Cars fan from way back . . . this is embarrassing. The 80's are not coming back, people. Get on with your lives.

  • @rofyle music snob hater you are

  • @SPECKofGOD I grew up listening to the Cars. I have no intention of embarrassing myself like my parents did, two sixty-year-old people still trying to convince me that the Beatles and the Stones created THE best music that will EVER be created. Bullshit. The Beatles suck, and so do the Cars.

  • @rofyle Yeah your entitled to that kind of opinion. However people have memories and will always associate a time in their life with a particular song no matter who performed it. Therefore good music is subjective to ones memories.

  • @rofyle it doesn't matter if you love or hate the Beatles, but the fact still remains that they were the most influential band that has ever existed....I guarantee you that there are many artists that you listen to that have been either inspired or influenced by the Beatles.....Ozzy Osbourne once said "I still haven't made my Sgt. Pepper's"....and those 2 styles of music are worlds apart....or are they?

  • @islapilluminati Most influential band ever? Oh good grief. Buddy Holly and the Crickets, Bessie Smith, Hart Wand, Robert Johnson, Little Richard, , Bill Haley & the Comets, and Johnny Cash. Just some of the artists and bands who were and remain far more influential than the Beatles. If the Beatles influence anyone, it is because their fans are musically ignorant.

  • @islapilluminati What pisses me off most about musically ignorant Beatles fans is the fact they are never able to account for that far more influential British band Pink Floyd.

  • @rofyle David Gilmour looks like a pedophile. Pink Floyd is and will always be self-indulgent mass-produced stoner rock garbage. Pink Floyd fans are the worst, they get defensive because they know they're nerds. The rainbow triangle on the cover art to the Pink Floyd album Dark Side Of The Moon suggests they are homosexual, but it's not for me to judge. If they are gay, I respect their decision to live that lifestyle. However, Pink Floyd's music is not pleasing to the ear; it sounds like crap!

  • Love the comments on this page. A bunch of grown adults just making real comments about something they love. Not making comments to start fights, cars fans are my kinda crowd.

  • Sounds like vintage Cars!

  • I for one am delighted to have The Cars back.

  • I remember being in my teens and just loving The Cars cause they were alternative, their sound, their lyrics, their hairstyles, the way they dressed WAS "Alternative" back then, but remained American Classic Rock on the edge of New Wave! Now I understand The Big Chill generation! You can't beat music that you feel good about because it brings you back to cool memories & good times!

  • I wish I could drag a bunch of 18 year olds by the ear and make them listen to this album and say "hey this is real music, now do you get it"?

  • Its great to have The Cars back, i feel like i went back 30 yrs.

  • Love this jamm

  • They are a cool Band which don't need Aid.

  • Fan- fucking- tastic! Go Ric Ocasac! Retro boomers got cash and will eat this up plus you got new ears out there to draw in as well.

  • I'm pretty fucking picky, but, so far for 2011 this is FAR AND AWAY MY FAVORITE ALBUM. It continues to amaze me with each spin. And the fact that it doesn't even need to exist at all is doubly shocking. Please, guys, do NOT make this a one-off deal.

  • This is sweet they are still around and they still have the same good sound! I like it.

  • wow 2011 is now 1980s again, love it!

  • great effort. what's the lineup here? is that ric ocasak? [i thought he wanted nothing to do with the Cars anymore].

  • @64citykid Yes, all the members are back again except Ben Orr who passed away some time back.

  • @ryhoyarbie thx for your reply. BTW: i knew about ben orr's passing. after all we're from the same area. [i saw them doing club dates back in 1979]. hell, yeah.

  • Cool song. Not a sad song

  • These guys are timeless. They will always have their unique sound old or new.

  • I love the CARS........and they did not miss a beat on this new CD. Like old times....I can hardly wait for the concert to follow.......GREAT MUSIC........!!

  • OMG The Cars ft. Nobody.....what the hell, you mean it's not "Auto-tuned" just pure rock-n-roll hmmmmm will it work? Stay tuned.

  • i don't get it, it's called "Sad Song", but it gets me excited to hear the cars again.

  • much better than door to door

  • ah, that's the stuff

  • Wow! I used to like The Cars, and I usually hate reformed bands' stuff, particularly when they're much older, but this is excellent. This is an agreeable surprise and I wish them well on their tour...

  • Its a great song. Wonder if they will tour Australia, would be a good show

  • Two many years without Ric Otcasek doing vocals!

  • I am sooo thrilled that the cars still sound like tthe cars!!! Rock on!!

  • Thanks Greg Hawkes... I also love your ukulele playing!

  • this song reminds me of the song JUMP in the movie love actually with Hugh Grant

  • You can't replace Ben Orr......I was worried when I first heard they were coming out with a new album but I like every song i've heard so far. Sounds like the old Cars.

  • Ok there's a part of the song that sounds like another song...does anyone else here it? I noticed it at 0:30. It's the beat there...

  • @BellaCullen1400 It think of "You Might Think" by The Cars themselves.

  • @BellaCullen1400 I noticed the same thing! I need to know what that song is!

  • @BellaCullen1400 The song I was thinking of was Fancy Footwork - Chromeo. I don't know if that helps.

  • @BellaCullen1400 Sounds like notes from Candy_o

  • These guys are great. The cars were one of the best bands in the 70s and 80s. and 90s. And here they are again! rocken.

  • Classic song...as if it was just sitting on a shelf for 30 years.

  • THE 80'S ARE BACK...!!!!!

  • YES!!!

  • OMG!!!!! I just heard this on the radio and thought this sounds like the Cars....and it is! This song is like a mixure from the beat to the rift of other Cars songs and I LOVE it. And it comes in the year of 30 year highschool reunion....what a great way celebrate youth!!!! I can't wait to get the album tomorrow! Thanks Cars!

  • Dude you misspelled Ric's last name

  • I love The Cars, welcome once again !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I saw them last night at the Hollywood Palladium. It was pretty bad, just like in the 80's. They were never, and still are not, a very good live band.

  • @MrTamaguy I agree, I love so much of their music but they're the worst live band I've ever seen, or at least they were in the 80's. The music was fine, but I think they only spoke one or two lines to the audience, right at the end of the set. It all felt very sterile. Still love their albums, though!

  • I saw them in my youth and just loved getting to hear the songs live! I had a great time and can hardly wait to see them again!

  • Just saw them last night. I have 3 videos i recorded with the Iphone up on my channel. CHECK THEM OUT!!!!

  • THE CARS ROCK!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Finally...we get the real talent back. We've missed you guys! I just love this song.

  • yep! i am trying an own arrangement actual but i am lazy coause of all these people here im berlin

  • Greg Hawkes used benjamin bass that was cool

  • No solos really sucks - that was one of their trademarks, unlike other new wave bands.

  • anyone wanting to send me their phone number by replying to me i took over 100 pictures from the Front row of last nights show the first one in 24 yrs in Seattle. I will be happy to text some great pictures of them to you.

  • I have to say that I am dissapointed with The Cars new 2011 album. Where are the guitar solos? Have they been bitten by the grunge era of no guitar solos attitude? I also think most of the songs are weak anyway. So dissapointing.

  • @elekrikal The grunge era was 20 years ago. I don’t think anything from 20 years will have any band “bitten” now. That’s like saying the disco era of the 70’s had bands from the 90s bitten.

I think the main problem here with this album, is the songwriting.

  • ahhh i love these guys

  • wtf sounds like shit

  • that's actually pretty good

  • AWSOME!!!! I LOVE IT! They haven't missed a beat. Sounds just the CARS should. I'll be jammin' this in my 1988 Chevrolet Eurosport VR. Man I'm impressed as heck

  • Wow never thought I would hear the CARS again. AWESOME

  • @randeb9d9 Not with Ocasik anyway. I thought would never come back.

  • now if we could just sway the Talking Heads back to the studio

  • I am attending the Seattle concert May 10, their first of 10 tour stops. I have read that Ric will sing all of Benjamin Orr's vocals, and they have decided to not replace Orr on bass. Rather, Greg Hawkes, the keyboardist, will play all the bass lines on synthesizer. So, in effect, we really do have a reunion tour, alas with no Benjamin Orr, but all remaining members. I look forward to this concert!!!

  • Super! I just bought tickets to see them May 20 in Toronto. Echo and The Bunneymen this Monday! I'm 16 again!

  • It's interesting that the new Devo album cover looked like a Cars cover, and this could pass for a Devo cover.

  • Is that rock, pop or eletro? *-*

  • GREAT but whats music now for me`Holger

  • They always had great hooks, hope they tour Canada!

  • Love it,but without Ben Orr. RIP...But so glad Ric is back...

  • @BIGROCKER620 *au*

  • the god for the cars...

  • schwing.... prayers answered!!!!

  • Definatly buying this when it comes out!

  • I love it.

  • Thank god for good Rock and Roll bands like the cars and other bands..........mostly 70's 80's 90's Keep putting the music out...there has been too much lame music the last 10 years.

  • 100% awesome. The Cars are back, and the 80s rule once more. >^^<

  • Great music Brad, thanks for sharing:)) Pam

  • :D

  • Cool! Are they touring this year?

  • @alisterfolson

Yes but only 12 shows, the first is in Seattle next month on the day there new album is released

  • @computermom100 Hopefully it'll come out on video(?) soon after...cool and thanks

  • @computermom100 Love The Cars. This new stuff sounds great! Where in Seattle are they playing?

They need to advertise more. I haven't heard about it. Hope it's not sold out.

  • @ninjamojo711 Showbox SODO 5-10-2011

  • Great song. Who would dislike? Their sound is still unique!

  • ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh-the "CARS". RIC O. AND THE BOYS STILL GOT IT. IT IS FRESH AND STILL HAS THE CARS UNIQUE SOUND. I WILL SURELY BE ADDING THIS TO MY COLLECTION!!!

  • love The Cars album covers, this one is awesome, the only problem is Ben is missing :(

  • I love it when a band from a different era can make a comeback and still sound just as good as they did back then...not many bands can accomplish this....The Cars....you have. Welcome back and thank you for bringing great music back :)

  • Great song love the CARS

  • Let the good times roll, again...

  • Well done guys

  • This is so cool now I will have some real new music that rocks to jam to in my Trans am! 89 GTA 5.7

  • the boys are back !!!!

  • Anyone who says this sounds like Orr does not know the difference between the classic Cars songs. This is clearly Ocasek. That said... sounds classic. Glad to see that little has changed.

  • They're baaacckkk!!!!!!!!! Cars Rock!!!!!

  • Sounds nothing like Ben, sir. That said, F'n A! The Cars are back, but with Ben would have been sweeter. Let's just be glad to have them back!

  • I think it's awesome they didn't just find a replacement for Benjamin Orr...but instead one of the original members played bass, using one of the basses that Orr owned.

  • @kaboompoop you are absolutely right,very honorable

  • @kaboompoop If it's one of Orr's original bass', I'm guessing it's Not Easton playing it. I'd guess Ocasik

  • @tryithere No it was actually Greg Hawkes playing the bass. I have a couple of Killer photos of him playing the Bass. I was in the front row center stage so i got about 100 killer photos. The photos are really colorful (purples, reds oranges all in the background and would look killer if one was to print them on Photo Paper and blew them up a little.

  • Come to the Fillmore in Charlotte, NC. Please! Listening to samples of each song at iTunes.....and loving every snippet. I am going to get the CD and the vinyl. Thank you so much for this music. You guys are Magic together. Don't Cha Stop!

  • @TheFoolFunnel I couldn't agree with you more. I miss video channels that played new song videos. They were so fun and an art form unto themselves.

  • Okay, I don't like The Cars. But this is AMAZING <3

  • @OurHopeIsYourHope so now you do like them!!!!

  • All I can say is "It's about time"!!

  • @Lamri35uk

I BEG THEM TO COME TO COLORADO.

  • @benskin43 I hear ya. That's where I live also.

  • @benskin43

    Request Granted!!!!!

  • What a good song! Hit 'like' if you love 80's... hit it if you like The Cars! ;-)

  • All right, The Cars are back!.

  • Move over The Killers, The Cars are back.

  • @TheFoolFunnel Add The Strokes to that list

  • @TheFoolFunnel wtf!! 2 different bands. The Killers are not moving over..

  • @TheFoolFunnel Even if The Cars all died in a tragic plane crash tomorrow, I think The Killers should still probably go ahead and move over immediately. They suck.
