  • Four people use the computer upside down!

  • Someone mentioned this band on a Bad Religion video and it DOES sound just like BR and even the singer sounds like Greg Graffin! I LIKE!

  • Hey folks, just in case anyone cares, I (the guy behind Utopia Now) have recorded a new album that's now swirling around out there on countless blogs. Juts google Utopia Now Man in the Mirror, and you'll find plenty of blogs to download it from (for free). Enjoy!

  • Yes, definitely a good punk band. It is a shame of what has become of what was once good mainstream punk.

  • Wait wait wait! Is the singer the guy who sang on all those piano and vocal covers of Bad Religion songs that are up here on youtube? They're posted by a user named memento12777, there are something like 10 of them, I don't remember all the songs atm but I have them on my PMP. The singer sounds very similar... I'd appreciate a response! Anyway, phenomenal work you guys!

  • Yes it is him! Well spotted.

  • @Iamkl132

Thanks so much! I visited his myspace/facebook page. I'm even more impressed that this is the product of one guy! Just awesome! I'm glad to hear something from the more intellectual side of the DIY scene.

  • Very true, perhaps it is just a little too like Bad Religion though? Probably why I like it so much!

  • @Iamkl132

Yeah, I agree it IS very similar to BR, again not necessarily a bad thing and punk isn't exactly a genre known for it's complexity or musical diversity. I think this sounds "softer" than Bad Religion, a little smoother, maybe it's just that the guy's voice isn't as rough and deep as Graffin's. I've also been on a stint of older BR, HCHBAW?-Generator so maybe that's something. I also think the oohzin ahhs are more pronounced in this than most BR. Still (too?) similar but still good.

  • The thee part harmonies (oozin' ahh's) are most prominent in their newer stuff - post 1998 I would say. It's sad because I know this artist has made many attempts to get signed and repeatedly failed which is most probably a sign that the music scene doesn't want stuff like this anymore.

  • Cool!

These sond dont remind me Bad religion, but Germany melodic heavy metal or something like that, especially featured a electric keyboard.

Meanwhile their lyrics and voice are completely their own and are pretty nice ,arent they?

  • Everyone says how much your music reminds them of 'Bad Religion'. I don't see it that much - I bought an album of theirs the other day (as I'd heard so much of them from all the comments on Utopia Now's videos) by the name of 'Stranger Than Fiction.' It doesn't remind me of your music that much. I mean you're both punk musicians and write complicated lyrics but otherwise...

  • i remember in an interview from Bad Religion Live at the Palladium where Greg Graffin said his inspiration was from a band called something with utopia... maybe it was this? don't remember

  • @Hupsibasse Graffin must have been talking about Todd Rundgren's band Utopia. He grew up listening to Todd Rundgren's music.

  • Ah well what do I say to that ^^, I can be fast if I want... and I will, I know people who for sure like this music!!

  • They are realy amazing, how more I hear them I more I'm loving their music!

Hope there is comming more from them (that is a hint ;D)

  • Yeah I hope so too, this is a great song. I'll spread the word around my contacts.

  • this is good ill spread it around.
