  • I'm 38. I once wore a back brace in high school. But a year ago, I finally kind of woke up after enough was enough. Now, I can hardly tell I ever had it. No doctors, no braces; instead, lots and lots of hard work. I don't have flat feet anymore either. But, I stress, it wasn't easy doing it all on my own, however, I kind of think it's really the only way.

  • i dont know what kinds of scoliosis u had.

my friend had a functional scoliosis after traumatic event for 18 years but 2 visits to this Advanced biostructural correction doctor reduce scoliosis to almost none in 1 week. he didnt have any abnormality of vertebrae, when there is a torque in dura(structure that is protecting ur spinal cord) , by trauma(birth trauma, auto accident, periods of bad posture, to head, and cranial distortion, spine can go twisted to reduce stress on spinal cord.

  • I can really relate with her too. Im 31 now and i wish they had more choices for me and better advice for my parents. After crying and being in pain, my parents was told that i had scoliosis and that i should have back surgery. So being new to the country my parents took the advice of the doctor. Now i have medal rods implanted in my back to try to straighten it but it didnt do much. Now im worried that i need another operation to fix the rod. smh . I

  • @skittles80409 What happened to your rods??

  • @Sisiyingying, I had my operation when I was 8. I didn't even hit my growing spurt yet. The doctor that did the operation took off a month after my surgery. I was past from doctor to doctor to find out that the doctor that had operated on me didn't give my parents more info. Now I think the screw in my rods are loose and it shift my rods and its pinching a nerve. The lower half of my body is feeling a bit numb. I can walk but I'm having a hard time.

  • @skittles80409 Oh gosh... that's very irresponsible of the surgeon!!! Well but didn't they lengthen the rods since you did it at 8? Is it possible to have another operation to get the rods back in place?

  • @Sisiyingying, No they didn't lengthen the rods since I was 8. When I turned 16 they told me if I had another surgery I could end up in a wheel chair. Being 16 at the time I was very active and in sports I didn't want to not walk again. Right Now the family doctor is sending me to get a CT Scan and we're going to see what we should do next.

  • @skittles80409 Omg... how can they fuse your spine at 8?! I heard what doctors normally do is that they do not fuse your spine when you're young and they'll keep lengthening the rods until you've stopped growing, only then they will fuse the spine! Haizz, wish you all the best! I just had my surgery done 4 months ago and hope nothing bad happens!

  • @Sisiyingying I guess thats why the doctor that operated on my back took off. I didnt get more information about my situation till years after my surgery. Thank you and wish you the best and hope that nothing bad happens!!!! :-)

  • @skittles80409 Oh God that doctor deserves suing man!

  • @Sisiyingying I tried but I found out that it was too late for me to file a report. Thank you again and I hope you are doing great.

  • I can totally relate with her!!! I am 38 and have been screaming for help. I've been in so much pain for years and jumping from doctor to doctor. I've had MRI's and those have only found Spondylosis, Facet disease and sciatica. Doctors told me "you shouldn't have this much pain." I went to a Chiropractor, she said that I have scoliosis. All the MRI's had me in supine position which straightened my spine (hiding the scoliosis). Now I'm not crazy and maybe I can have a good care path and hope. :)

  • @mya3772 Hi! Doctors don't do a good job in my opinion in terms of managing back pain... I had my operation 4 months ago and i was having some pain in my back. I told the doctor and he said it's fine. Then when i told him i was having difficulty bending he said i should be able to bend and that i should start bending as much as i want...

  • was the pregnancy harder for u?

and when u were givin birth did the curve ade u feel extra pain?

cuz i have 40 degree curve and i am 22

  • @ImTheBlueDevil -get it fix a.s.a.p. cuz i had a curve to and i got the operation and now iam better pero si get that fix cuz u guna have problems later on in life

  • thank you for sharing your story with us. I found out that i had scoliosis and needed the op when i was 14 but i pulled out last minute. Now i am 25 and a mother of a gorgeous 3year old boy, ive always had some pain with my back but since bein heavily pregnant with my son the pain is with me nearly all the time and sometimes im in absolute agony. I live in England and the docs have said that the only cure for me is to have the op, my curve is too big for a brace to make any difference

  • @85hayleyA I hope that you have not had surgery yet, there are other options. I am 28yrs old and have been doing treatment with a doctor certified by CLEAR Institute. I don't know if there are any in England. I have reduced my curves, I have less pain, and I've grown half an inch! There is no recovery time and you can still bend over and pick up your son. I highly recommend seeking alternative treatment.

  • Hi Michelle,

I got my Scoliosis sorted out with a Theraflex machine when I was 38 .Get your Doc/Physio to get one
