The flex LCD ribbon cable must have a bad batch because mine was replaced, and the screen is working fine ever since! Try getting one of those, it's affordable on eBay
a bit late but if you've still got it or someone else is searching for a fix - the data is not getting to the lcd panel, you can usually fix it by removing and refitting the lcd cable (mobo side and back of panel) or changing it , do a search on ebay for "your model" lcd cable - or -
"your model" screen cable,
quite easy to change,
see the yt vids on changing an lcd cable - never over-tighten the screws on the sides of the lcd panel as this often irreparably damages the screen,
@abz2000123 or sometimes by folding up a piece of paper and putting it on top of the part where the lcd cable sits on the motherboard (getting it to apply pressure on the connection), then putting the cover back on.
The laptop has now been sold off on ebay as bits for £35 so good ridence to bad ACER rubbish and any other acers i get will be scrapped for bits there not worth there sale price but the bits are worth it, I 100% only own Dells if i can help it because they come with service manuals so you can fix them yourself where a acer you need a tin opener to open it to fix.
@ayrtonhathaway You should wait till we find the answer to repair! I plan to keep mine it's got a lot for a little price I paid, under $130 and it's dual core CPU now with 2GB mem upgrade. I also use several SATA drives for the system, with XP and Vista Ultimate so it has a lotta life, the display is just working and not working half the time
i have one, i don't know what causes it but, if you do something, like change the resolution or put the computer to sleep and then wake it it goes to normal, also not moving the screen helps
Oh my god, don't upload this if you can't control that audio. You must have checked over it once before uploading it, so why did you? This nearly blew my speakers...
@zacdenison I had headphones considering my audio was too low. Let's hope YT replaces the audio here because it violates someone's copyright on White Noise

@ayrtonhathaway No offence but I bought a acer 18.4 inch laptop and for 1 year now it's been exellent.

Your audio is wonky for one thing. See my video for commentary about it. I do manipulate the plug itself, it's an Acer Aspire.

@colman44 Acer support is for the birds, but no, they are doing really well as far as good product out there.
