  • CALL IT WHAT YOU WANT. Let’s just simplify this whole thing. For me it comes down to just two fundamental questions: mis-education and lies on the one hand vs. education (truth) on the other. Where lies are being told education is not taking place. We want to educate our people. Lies give birth to ignorance. The facts and truth will bear Afrocentricity out. The facts and truth will bear witness to Afrocentricity, and, in the end - like truth - Afrocentricity will reign supreme.

  • AFROCENTRICS was invented and glorified by white racists. AFROCENTRASH + EUROCENTRASH = EXTERMINATION OF MINORITIES

  • Coptics are the last of the Egyptians, how did they decipher the Rosetta Stone from Ancient Egypt? from the legacy of the language being Coptic..

The last stone in how to read and write Ancient Egyptian, so how can the Coptic language decipher the Egyptian language? because it is the Ancient Egyptian Language

Africa is a continent.. with a LOT of cultures, languages, no different to Asia's large continent of cultures and the Americas. The skulls are also very different compared to other Africans

  • I used to teach at an afrocentric school. The children are more enguaging when the student can identify with the teacher. Some of my students still call me to this very day. Most of my students have gone on to college and to other countries to improve humanity as a whole. There is a noticeable difference. Not enough spacehere to list them all! KNOW THYSELF! Rock on sis!

  • @universalmoor That's so interesting. Do you currently teach?

  • @YaNVme No, not anymore. I do miss it! In the school that is! However I am still a teacher of the many things I've learned in life!

  • every other culture based school (italian, chinese, peruvian etc) are privately funded. its not fair to only fund ONE race, and exclude the rest. these schools should be private. if you want to go to them, you pay for it

  • @added23 Now i'm not saying you're right or wrong, I'm simply stating facts here in the state. When I was in school, they barely talked about black history and it was always a selected few black people in history we studied. I went to school in the south and my school purposely failed to teach us about certain black leaders such as Malcolm X. It was very biased.

  • Every school system in the world is relative to that country. In relative terms of the contribution of non-whites is almost non-existent in these countries such as Canada. The little that you were taught is really all there is. I don't see why people believe all public schools should teach world history.

  • you're absolutely right that anyone can go to an afrocentric school. im from toronto and we currently have 2 of them. but the only problem that i have with these schools is that theyre publicly funded. ALL taxpayers are paying for it, even if their kids dont attend. regular high schools are also publicly funded but theyre not eurocentric (atleast here in canada). we learn canadian history (so french and english are the main parts of europe we focus on)

  • @added23 I'm not too keen on Canadian history, but here in American, we are taught European/ American history. My tax dollars go to schools that teach black history started from slavery and does not focus on African history. I think think it's fair that my money supports a school system that excludes much of my true heritage. If I have to pay for that then why not have my tax dollars go to a school system that teaches TRUE black or African history.

  • @YaNVme yea i agree that its unfair to only teach a small portion of black history but i believe that a complete afrocentric school should be private. i agree mostly with @rootzdawta because a truly public school should have a balance of world history. not bias towards european OR african. any culture that wants to have their own school can privately fund it

  • @added23 I see where you are coming from and I agree. If public schools were more diverse, then there would be no need for Afrocentric schools. I think the public school system in in America as a whole is failing when it comes to diversity and even academics. Of course there are some schools who do not fit this category, but unfortunately that is not the case for the post part.

  • @YaNVme very true

  • WHERE IS THIS SCHOOL ..

  • i mean, without that wiper technology, even if we stole the inventions of africa, the people would still be able to rebuild like the japanese did after those tsnamis hit but weez beez too racis n sheet

  • lol of coarse africa was an advanced nation, they use to be able to fly and move rockjs with their minds which created the pyrimids until us YTs came and stole it along with all the maths, sciences and culture noble south subharan africa had to offer. then we wiped every africans' mind with our racist european technology to keeop them down

  • Contd: I am a sophomore in Babson College and since being here I've been inspired to learn more about African culture as it was, is, and will/should be. Our African Cultural Exploration group recently had a discussion about African Americans and blacks from the Caribbean, and our relationship to Africa. Someone made a comment that he felt disconnected from Africa b/c his family dates back to slavery and there’s no way to find out where his ancestors were before then. To be cont'd...

  • Oh my goodness, I agree with you SO much. We don't learn about thriving African culture pre-slavery. Our ancestors were kings and queens and introduced many things to Europeans and had the first truly thriving empires. I see a huge problem in not recognizing our past greatness because that limits our view of beauty and success and as you said, it leads to low self-esteem or a feeling of inferiority. I'm an African American who grew up in Jamaica (where all of my family is from). To be cont'd...

  • I agree with much of what you said but I actually don't agree with Afrocentric schooling or education. I believe that would be swinging the pendulum all the way to one end (i.e. from Eurocentrism to Afrocentrism) and brings up some of the same issues. The kind of education I want to offer my children is balanced. If we spend time studying European empires, we will spend equal time studying other empires. I also think it's problematic to talk about "African culture" because what is it?

  • There are thousands of cultures within Africa that are distinct. The term Afrocentrism usually lumps all those cultures together or hyper-emphasizes Khemet. I believe that by homeschooling, I can give my kids a realistic picture of themselves and their history but in context with the rest of history, acknowledging that no one culture ever existed in a vacuum.

  • @rootzdawta I understand where you are coming from. Homeschooling would be a better option in my opinion, but for this specific topic and comparing Afrocentric and Eurocentric, I would support an Afrocentric system, not to exclude other cultures at all, but for people would insist on putting their children in the public school system, there should be examination of the current curriculum and environment that their child is exposed to.

  • @rootzdawta continued...If I were to have a child in the public school system, I would be specifically concerned about the authenticity of the information being given and also the overall environment and how they are being treated. We know that most of the history being taught is "whitewashed". If the current school system was not Eurocentric and provided a wider view of all cultures, there would probably be no talk of Afrocentric schools, since the black children are being neglected

  • That’s the real problem with these Eurocentric schools . . . they will never admit that ideas were borrowed and that they got these ideas from people of color.

  • hi umm i was wondering do u have any other site like twitter where u discuss these interesting topics (: ??

  • You just want to make sure these schools wouldn't promote an"I'm better" or "I hate white people" attitude. Lol. I hope they are promoting African pride without deeming themselves superior. Ya know? You want to be able to fully appreciate and learn African culture with belittling the beauty of other cultures too.

  • Africa was a thriviing and technologically advanced continent before Europeans touched down. So they didn't "help" us with anything. Lol.

As long as these schools aren't excluding any other races from enrolling, I don't see why a school that promotes and celebrates African culture would be a bad thing. Many other races and cultures have schools centered around their cultures. You have a much higher self esteem when you know where you come from.

  • I am my childrens Teacher my husband is there Principle, and Since we are a Hebrew Israelite African Centered Family then so is our school. Forget these Public Charters. You need to be homeschooling or the "So Called" Afrocentric schools need to come up from under the yolk of the Public Charter and become a REAL Private School.

"When you send your children to Cesear don't be surprised when they come home Romans"

    Voodie Bauchum

  • @Ejahi Well said sis!

  • @Ejahi I totally agree sis! I don't believe in this public charter school business at all.

  • @Ejahi Are you suggesting that Afrocentric schools are less free from "Caesar" than Hebrew Israelite schools? Just the fact that “Caesar” is in your vernacular shows clearly that you can’t get away from your former slave master. Another thing, Hebrew Israelite is NOT African centered; it’s centered somewhere out there in the Sinai desert. P.S. I hope you are not teaching your children grammar, punctuation and spelling.

  • @qkaaut1 I would point out the errors in your comments but It won't make a difference to someone like you. I checked out your page and you don't even put yourself out there and all you do is start stuff on others folks pages. YOU ARe a TRoll! Go Away!

  • religions. Then they could learn the histories of each continent - side by side... U know what - I could be wrong, but this would probably change the world as we know it. Back to reality - that's someday, maybe... But today is today, so in the meantime, I'm with u 100. Which is why when my son comes home from "school", I try to let him in on all they left out. Which unfortunately, is just about everything... So good conversing with u again!!!

  • @maximuslyricus I like the idea of a "humancentric" school. It's funny that there would still be those few people who would still want to complain about it. Creation and evolution would be a big debate in itself, but I think it would be more beneficial to implement such an idea in the school system since that is where most children get that information from.

  • Welcome back! And I see u're bringing it full force! So let me jerk yo chain a lil - not a lot - just a lil sumum sumum... What if... we had schools which were humancentric. Is that a word? Probably not - but sometimes u gotta be innovative to get whatcha need. So yeah - what a radical idea - humancentric schools. Schools whereby kids could learn about creationism side by side with evolution. Then they could learn the histories of all the different holy books of all the different
