Gosh, it's a shame to see these wasting away, but it is also SOOO hard to restore them and keep them to their original condition.  Only if I had a couple extra million bucks to save a bit of history.

@logans76cj5 I never really thought about it, but I don't know when I saw a Jeep in a yard last. I see the old Willys style p/u's and suburban type every now and then but they are usually really, really rusted out.

I was at this yard last summer. lots of vintage tin but none of it was any good except for some trim and glass. everything was rusted including the tops of roofs, cowls, package trays, everything. the north east weather and woods were not kind to these cars

It doesn't matte anyways because as of December last year it is all gone. all crushed and recycled.

to add to my comment about getting one of these rolling without restoring the body.....no headlights but would want the surrounds, busted ,smashed grills would be fine, hood and trunk lid all bent on hinges, body glass either gone or all busted up.you get the picture, it would be a halloween car! i have never ever seen antbody do this!!!!everybody always thinks you JUST GOTTA "RESTORE" them.

i would love to get one of these old cars, put new engine ,transmission, brakes and tires but not restore the body at all in any way......the rusitier the better, no glass, no problem.......and then drive it in a parade!!!!!!!!!

@nealharpole1 I like the idea, some cars are just too far gone to restore the body. Put a plaque on it and have it a running driving memorial to all the rusting old iron out there that will most likely never be fixed up.

Hey 420GETURDONE420, I just sold one of them this summer. 3/4 ton 2wd with a 350 and a 4 speed. It was a great truck, and was even the same orange this one is. I agree that era of trucks was very good. I believe I have a good picture of that one for an upcoming slide show... stay tuned!
