  • ~~> Not much moves me these days, but this shit scares the fcuk out of me...

  • Fucking Christian music sounds so fucking childish and gay. Something out of a Disney cartoon. Fucking stupid cornballs.

  • At least they NOTE that they're not supposed to do that

  • @IanFrank …which makes it worse, because they know what's wrong and do it anyway.

  • "Western values"

  • group of criminals and dirty peoples...USA shame of you...

  • "we are all loving & peaceful people"?

  • lmao, I was on Bagram when this happened, we (on the SF compound) laughed for a good while after this

  • Right. A "specific case", which just happened to be filmed. Please. We all know the sneaky crap that churches pull. The church has no respect for law and government, because according to christians, god trumps all.

    Nice try.

  • That's how Christianity has always been spread. If it didn't then a lot of people today would be serving zeus or something.

  • This is a case in which nothing ever happened as it was implied in the video. The missionary aspect of evangelicals is annoyingly the same, but according to the Post, these holy roller soldiers were cut short because the commanding officer properly squelched that kind of activity.

  • "That specific case involved a soldier who brought in a donation of translated Bibles that were sent to his personal address by his home church. He showed them to the group and the chaplain explained that he cannot distribute them," said Major Jennifer Willis. "...the soldier understood that if he distributed them he would be in violation of general order 1, and he would be subject to punishment." - from the Huffington post.

  • What dickwits yanks are.

Brits & Aussies couldn't be arsed to do such a silly thing as get Bibles in local languages. But if anyone was, they'd be up on a charge so quick.

yanks, they'd be funny if they weren't scary

  • LOL Love the channel Name. Now tell me, after eight years of Bush, is this any surprise. The Navy on the same crusade.

  • Many Christians are very simple. Maybe that's a virtue, by Jesus' standards. Fine.

    But war is very complex.

  • It never ceases to amaze me how utter stupid humanity is.

  • Bad christian witness to use the military to proselitize, especially since their President is doing all he can to downgrade Christianity.

  • The weird and insane room of a cult, cemented and entranced in mind control .

  • They looked high to me

  • Yes l look at the cult of ancient sun worshipping morphed into whats been called religion and see children in adult bodies in a state of mind control as kids

in kiddies bodies will see Santa Claus.

Support the troops my arse, this mindset

of humans need medication not weapons

....hate and violence is within this vessels in fatigues, love doesn't wear a uniform nor engage in wargames.

They are fooling themselves under mind

control for the masters who spit on them,

    called the elite.

  • Apparently good Ol Jeebus flies a B-52 bomber these days.

  • Try an experiment folks: for 24 hours, do not watch polemic political videos on YouTube that serve only to reinforce your current political views. Try to understand where your opposition is coming from. Hating them won't do you any good, but you can learn from them.

And, proselytization being fascist is just about the stupidest thing anyone has ever said on YouTube.

  • I dunno, I think the people who deny the moon landing are still up there on the stupid comments records, but I agree. Proselytization is not an act of fascism unless you're enforcing a belief at gunpoint.

Rest assured however that I don't hate anyone. I'm actually quite open to opposing views, it's from taking all viewpoints into consideration that I'm at the point I am today. I just don't see how this particular case isn't a textbook violation of the no proselytization rule.

  • "Enforcing a belief at gunpoint"? These people are a fucking occupying army, how much more obvious can that be?

  • They're not demanding people convert to their religion, they were holding a Bible study on a US base and considering handing a couple out to the locals. I'm definitely not saying it's a good thing and the latter behaviour is against the rules, but it's a far cry from invading a local town and killing everyone who doesn't convert.

  • If you didn't notice from the video, it didn't look like anyone was forced at gunpoint into that chapel.

There are plenty of examples of fascism today (including in the US), but no one was forced to go to a Bible study on a base in Afghanistan. Probably half the people in there are in there to get away from their chain of command and get an hour or so off.

(Just personal experience here, not polemic demonization of a great nation. (Before you reply: nation is not the same as government.))

  • ECONOMIC COLONIZATION = WAR CRIME

The Allies conducted the Nuremberg Trials in 1945 to 1949 ..supposedly for several reasons:

-To Make Aware that these crimes were Actually Committed

-To Examine HOW these Crimes Were Able to be Committed

-To Uncover Who Committed these crimes

-- -To PREVENT It FROM HAPPENING AGAIN

    -To Punish the Criminals

Genocide of a civilizatoin Is it right for WAR CRIMINALS to ignore which ever crimes against Soverignties they choose?when ever needed?

  • SO this video confirm the rumors Muslims have for decades that these invasions and strives in Muslim lands are created by the Western christian powers to spread Christianity by going in wearing the NGOs uniforms. But here brazenly the evangelicals are preaching Christianity in the Occupier's uniform. This is modern day spreading a religion under the GUNS.

It seems like Darfur crisis is being created to spread christianity too.

  • OK folks, consider the facts and the voiceover:

    1. Understanding the word proselytization is necessary if you're reminding people they're not allowed to,

    2. We're supposed to believe that what those books are, because the voiceover says it,

    3. That was not a chaplain. Chaplains do not carry weapons,

    4. There are many evangelicals in the US military. Go into any military chapel in Afghanistan or Iraq and you're likely to see the same thing.

  • 1. Ignorance of the rules is not an excuse. If a soldier was unclear of the word he or she should have asked for clarification before taking the oath; try getting out of a mobile phone contract by arguing that you didn't understand what the phrase "contract period" meant.

    2. The military confirmed these were Bibles

    3. Irrelevant even if it's true. Rules are rules.

    4. Nobody objects to evangelicals in the US military, so long as they keep their religion to themselves as per the army regs.

  • 1. ignorance: No, that's something that they are very strict about making sure soldiers are familiar with. (I know from personal experience and quit foaming at the mouth.)

    2. Where did the military confirm that?

    3. Rules are rules? That includes the Patriot Act. Your phone is now tapped and I'm looking over your library records.

    4. "Nobody objects to evangelicals in the US military..." That's just a flagrant lie.

  • 1. Not foaming at the mouth, man. Just saying that not understanding a rule isn't really an excuse.

    2. They confirmed they were Bibles when they confiscated and destroyed them. One News Now has an article on it, can't link here though.

    3. I'm not a US citizen, so no. But the Patriot Act and the no proselytization rule in the army are like apples and oranges.

    4. Ok, shouldn't have painted with such a wide brush. What I should have said is that religion in the military isn't the issue here.

  • To be honest I don't know One News Now, but this footage is from Al-Jazeera and they deliberately did not get close enough to see the covers to tell what they were. (And from my experience in Iraq, there were a few requests we had for Bibles in Arabic, which our chaplain could not get because people higher in the chain of command were afraid that's why he wanted them.)

(I'm not that religious, but there are enough antireligious people in the world, and many do hate the US military.)

  • After this footage came to light they found they had been sent by a church via private mail, with the intention of distribution.

But hey, I may often come off as anti-army but I'm not. It's a long held belief of mine that if you object to a war or how it's run you take it up with the politicians who started it, not the men and women who are bravely serving their country in conditions most of us (including myself) would crack under. Organizations like Code Pink make me sick too, I assure you.

  • If they were sent by a church it doesn't matter. General Order #1 does not apply to churches.

But either way, I keep reading on here different sources saying that this organizations said this and that organization said that. OK, why couldn't they get a closer view of the books, and if they were sent by a church, then it really doesn't matter either way. In the video they were explaining GO #1, which would be pointless if they were ignoring it.

  • OK, I just saw something from One News Now (what a horrible name!) that said that they were turned into a chaplain and destroyed. One News Now was getting it from Reuters from Al-Jazeera.

WTF. Even if it's true that they were sent to evangelize the Afghans, it doesn't matter. Unless you believe in strict Sharia, (death for apostasy) the church that sent them had every right to do that. (And if you do believe in Sharia law, there can be no debate anyway.)

  • Military codes are very strict on this point. These are soldiers they do not have the right to do as they please. I am a veteran who understands military law. If an individual wants to be a missionary fine, however, but US soldiers are NOT missionaries.

  • If only you saw all of the footage. After the priest mentioned the 1st rule, they decided that since they weren't able to, then they couldn't. Of course this video is going to tell a story based on the biased view of Al Jazeera, however they still did follow the rule once they received those Bibles.

  • this clear shows why the palestine ppl haven't had a state and why the west goes out with wars in middle east over and over again with all kind of lies back it up

  • Yeah, because the US sends Bibles not dollars to Isreal.

  • Jesus said "Go ye therefore and make disciples of all nations." Last time I checked, Afghanistan was a nation!

  • Go right ahead, only make sure you're not doing it while wearing a uniform and during active service on taxpayer's money.

  • Christian Facism

  • Yeah - let's just leave these people to censor all forms of speech and religion. Let's be wusses and allow them to stone people for preaching other Religions. - Even Al Jazeera on Youtube will not allow you to comment on their videos.

Dumb Christians! Being all nice and giving out Books!! Burn the books - and the Christians!!!

Yikes! You people here on youtube scare me.

  • That persecution complex of yours scares me even more. I don't like Islam any more than Christianity, but nobody is taking away the soldiers right to be religious, they just can't go around violating the rules they took an oath to uphold. And nobody in the comments here seem to be calling for Chrisitans to be burned, that seems to be your own imagination there.

The soldiers are not having any rights violated, Christians are not being persecuted, and the US is not waging any wars with Islam.

  • ECONOMIC COLONIZATION = WAR CRIME

The Allies conducted the Nuremberg Trials in 1945 to 1949 ..supposedly for several reasons:

-To Examine HOW these Crimes Were Able to be Committed

-- -To PREVENT It FROM HAPPENING AGAIN

    -To Punish the Criminals

Whats wrong with this picture? Is it right for WAR CRIMINALS to ignore which ever crimes against Soverignties it chooses when needed?

  • Yeah, portray the soldiers just peacefully handing people Bibles as if they are war mongers instead of the terrorist killing anyone who dares disagree with their beliefs.

  • The edconomic colonization of that soverign nation is such a horrific war crime. the hundreds of thousand s or million and a million dying in agony with the people and culture of their civilization under seige of genocide

  • "so we get them to the kingdom, thats our business"

I don't know what to say!!!!

  • what is worng with them man

  • Dumb ass evangelicals. They just don't get it.True Muslims love Jesus, they just don't believe in the the crucifiction or the trinity.

  • wow!

  • Nothing like freedom fighters preaching God crap.

Jesus Christ! what the hell is the matter with

these people are they totally void of thought?

    This is appalling.

  • i'm pretty sure it's a capital offense in afghanistan to lead someone away from islam. anyone remember the guy they were going to stone a few years back for converting to christianity?

  • Bad move. Very bad move.

  • Important information!

  • No surprise to find the yankee-doodle Nazi God-Squad SCUM using WAR to spread their stinking "Gospel".
