  • ↓↓Just want to say thanks for all the eggs comments below. Laughed my ass off

  • awsomme fireworks!

  • I used to loved getting indirect fire in the city (TV Station) then that fucking COB.... I hated that alarm... at least in the station there wasn't any suspense, just boom you are blown the fuck up

  • Charge Of the knights, USMC

  • that kid yelling....didnt last

  • I was in BALAD LSAA and they had one right next to the PX pizza hut/burger king, I had no idea it was there until it went off, I almost pooped my shorts.Went off before the alarm sounded

  • @SAULSANCHEZ74 Same thing happend to me. LOL I was coming out of the USO when it happend.

  • That alarm you hear is the C-RAM telling everyone to GTFO or die.

  • And yeah I think he might actually be saying 'HE' for High Explosive, as in 'load some rounds so we can shoot back', which is standard procedure.

Never once heard anyone call their helmets 'HG'

  • @movefast319

Orange trails are the friendly rounds flying through the air. The weapon fires so rapidly that it appears almost like a laser of some sort. The rounds are programmed as they leave the barrel to explode at a certain range (where the computer predicts the enemy round will be) in hopes that the exploding shells will cause the mortar or rocket to be neutralized or destroyed.

  • @defiance167 Excellent Explanation..!

  • Not much love in the air....

  • Do the orange trails signify the path of the mortars through the air, or is is it friendly fire?

  • @midnightmilo he said get some hg, get some head gear, get some fucking head gear on now. aka helmet.

  • gosh your lucky to have caught that on tape ive tried soo many times lol

  • whats the guy shouting at the end?

  • Thats 1 RHA in Iraq 2007. They would wait until the incoming had finished, get the location on the insurgents, and give some 'em some of their own medicine. Never deterred them though.

  • Hands up .. Stacey lover .. you are right I should not of said that .. I've done 7 years in the sand pit and seen it as much as you , so I will say sorry . done a few op T'S MY SELF .. I made the wrong comment with out thinking .. Sorry

  • Sounds like Hats flapping.. over a bit of IDF lol

  • @bozimo1 This was Op TELIC 10. That "bit of IDF" killed it least 4 people.

    Cock.

  • Sounds like Hats flapping.. over a bit of IDF lol

  • they guy in this video screamin is a fuckin pussy and how bout you send them to places that really could use them.

  • Wow, that is fucking sick.

  • Holy shit

  • Это бля охринеть как круто но америкосы не нападайте на нас ото нам придётся ядерными ракетами кидаться :)

  • Just the sound should make the insurgents shit their pants. lol WOW

  • I'd just be standing there like...uhhh..there goes 400 rounds no where close to that flying LIGHT in the air

  • @SaSinKaL You're a moron, they weren't aiming at the light. They are aiming at incoming rockets/mortars. Just so happened the guy was recording flares and the incoming alarm went off.

  • I LOVE THAT SOUND!!!

  • it's pretty awesome that these things can shoot down a projectile like a mortar shell because it is just a piece of metal flying at high speed with no heat signature or anything that makes it easy to detect.

  • man thats intense

  • Phalanx are a freakin joke might hit 2% of them.......

  • @GuntheRsc err... have you seen the test footage of these Phalanx? the success rate of these Phalanx are at least above 60%. 1 out of every 8 rocket or mortars does get passed these guns, but I'd rather have that than to have no protection at all.

  • @GuntheRsc dude, false, they are actually really good when it comes to shooting stuff down, the Navy's version is better because the round do not explode, they just shoot armor piercing 20 mm rounds all day long, and since they are out at sea, it don't matter what they hit.

think about the size of a mortar, they are small, sometimes yes, one slips by, but I would rather have a small sense of security to hear the siren and get a heads up to get cover, and then to hear 3 guns engaging

  • what happend?

  • @IranTM1 mortar or rocket attack on the base.

  • too bad that dumbass at the end could stop wetting himself.

  • Very good

  • that looks awsum!

  • And imagine only every 5th round is a tracer.

  • get some H.E. in

    ...wot?!

GET SOME FUCKING H.E. IN; GET SOME FUCKING H.E. IN NOW. WHATTHEFUCK

    lol

  • @midnightmilo . Could be an Artillery or Tank Unit with the commander stating "Hi Chaps, could you stop watching the fireworks dear boys and could we have some high explosive rounds ready to dispense please!!!!"

  • someone was not thinking clearly

  • wow i didnt kno wi could crap my pant just from a sound. thats awsome iam to all my service members brothers and sisters stay safe and get some EGGS for him please

  • GETS THOSE FUCKING HEADS IN NOW WTF

  • he screams exit not eggs

  • looks like november 5th to me... sounds like me after a can of beans...

  • this looks like the hand of god and the sound of the C-RAM is just undescribable...

  • @bcaodp Thanks a lot. So every round have its own accelerometer to detect spins and computer to count them. Must be quite robust construction to whitstand massive forces during shot.

  • Holy shit

  • what is the person in the background shouting?

  • Comment removed

  • This is sick!!!

  • I almost pissed myself just watching.

  • You got to love American engineering! The best weapon we could have ever come up with!

  • lol we nether had those, kinda takes the fun out of it lol :)

  • Holy fuck. Rockets are hard to stop, huh?

  • i was the one fire the phallanx on gun 7, wasnt nice that night, AS90 guys do a good job

  • LOL at the scared idiot screaming .. i think his pant is wet and smelly too.

  • Fucking awesome!

  • "That is the greatest thing I have ever seen in my entire life..."

    watch?v=y-Z1VFRZ5MM

  • so if you fire a sky rocket above the base would it get shot down

  • get some fucking he in. haha he sounds like my new hair cut. H E, MOM WHERES THE FUCKING H E FUCK. haha

  • I bet the insurgents launched those rockets not even bothering to aim at the base, they just wanted to see the guns go off, because seriously, it's beautiful.

  • @CoLiC2 wow you are retarded, its not so beautiful when its rockets coming towards you and those guns miss, i've been there, its kinda scary

  • @damiandrifts

Not my problem. From where I'm sitting, that's beautiful; and if you're "retarded" enough to go to war in Iraq on/under the command of the Bush administration, I hope you were scared.

  • @CoLiC2 if you are too much of a bitch to serve your country keep your mouth shut

  • @damiandrifts

    Oh, you.

My country is not worth defending. Neither is yours if you're from where I think you are. Go back to shooting at roadsigns and snorting Oxy. Please.

  • @damiandrifts. I doubt a retard like him even can get into the army in Sweden, we use people like him for target practise or to keep the floors clean.. Yet the floors remains dirty.

  • @SoPlEoReD Hrm, actually it's not so easy to get inte the Swedish army anymore. With more expensive high tech gear and less soldiers, the army can pick and chose. 15 years ago, all men had to serve for about a year.

  • @CoLiC2 guess you are another person who's quite happy to let others fight and die on their behalf and then give them shit about it. fuck off.

  • @ukstreetracer

While your comment had nothing to do with what I actually said in the first place, I totally agree with you. I'd like for you to run straight to the nearest conscription office and start dying for me.

  • @CoLiC2 I'd rather do exactly that than spend my life as little fairy fuck hiding behind a keyboard gobbing off at real men. You'd soon change your tune if you didn't have the freedoms that come from your government protecting you.

  • this is liek 10x better than fireworks

  • these are CIWS (Phalanx) guns firing at rockets that have entered the base's radar coverage area. The guns and the sirens function automatically when a rocket is detected and proceed to eliminate the threat.

  • That dude at the end really wants to eat some eggs.

  • @ajevanson lmfao

  • Looks like a typical night in Koondoola/Girrawheen/Balga after the Koori's been sniffing petrol.

  • my brother in law who is in the air force was there when this happened he was in the vid and he told me he had those 20 MM canons shouting at a rocket and he said that gun is so loud and he had one out side his tent but wow that vid is intence

  • @Hunterkiller14

I think the weapon shoots, not shouts at inbound targets

  • lol

  • @KG84C - well the way public disarmament is going - thats all we are damn well gonna be able to do when the bad guys come over the hills haha - throw rocks and foul langauge

  • I'm glad people want to go to war, because I know one Nigga that ain't goin, me!

  • this is exactly what i would imagine the end of the world would look like

  • Phalanx FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D

  • The guy at the end is Dutch, hes screaming "What the fuck hadje dan?" loosely translated it means "What you got NOW bitch"

    IT--

  • I think he's screaming "put the fucking H.E. in now" listen to what the guys says just before screaming, then the screaming.

  • @powerage112 ah ok. That's ver possible, but what you you think he means with "Put the fucking HE in now"?

    High Explosive rounds?

  • it looks like they were next to a weapon so maby some counter motor shit??

  • just got back from there, crazy as hell, basrah was ok, it calmed down tho, once the brits left

  • my baby boy is now there :(

  • Welcome to iraq

  • the sirens are freaking scary. forget the guy yelling at the end.... those plws are nuts

  • It's LPWS

  • Man that just totaly looks like hell when those guns are fireing all together.

    Were is this place actually?

  • Basra international airport.

  • LMAO FUNNY ENDING!

  • Comment removed

  • what the fuck is up with that sucker in the end??

  • @nicklking He is probably telling them to put a high explosive antipersonal round in there guns breach so as to be ready for counterbattery fire...

  • hehehe ADHD&WAR maybe? hehehe

  • Wow... One Phalanx in action is so awesome, but three in actual combat? I almost wet myself from the awesome...

  • @Inmango we had 10 fire rounds off in one attack at Camp Victory.....all depends on the trajectory of the rounds coming in and which radar systems they trip

  • Those Gatling guns are off the chart.

  • Get Some H.E. in

    H. igh

    E. xplosive

  • He says "Get some fucking HE in!"

  • Nobody needs a gun like metal storm or something else when you have a CIWS or CRAM. Metal storm is to expensive.

    Greeds

    Aktion

  • He screams "Get your f****** legs in!"

I was there and heard that siren for 3 months. I hated that thing. Saw those guns hit many rounds, but they also missed one, July2007..

  • i was there, SIB are all over it!

  • what happens in this vid.. are the firering random?? i don't get it??

  • @jurstie: Several ground based Phalanx CIWS gatlling guns try to shoot down mortar rounds.

  • @jurstie: As Helge129 said, C-RAM/Centurion is a modification of the Navy's CIWS Phalanx point defense gun. Radars are sensitive enough to not only track incoming rockets and mortar bombs, but track the C-RAMs own shells and thus adjust fire.

  • @jurstie There shooting at incoming mortar shell or free-flight artillery rockets. It looks like something out of a scifi movie doesn't it...

  • Was that the ground based phalanx? I didn't know that they actually put that in a combat zone! TITS!

  • get the eggs in now

  • thanks i tryd to figure what his saying(what dose eggs mean in lingo?)

  • @adamrain12346 the CRAM things (that are shooting at mortars) kind of look like eggs.

  • God that must be so surreal watching in person.

  • Whadda FUCK !!!!!

  • I think he's saying Get your F'ing heads in now!!... aka. take cover.

  • WOW.

    That gaves me the creeps!

    Not want to be there...

  • I do believe someone wants some H E in...yesterday.

  • @precenphix Astute observation. "HE" is a type of artillery round. They were probably trying to quickly return fire to the coordinates where the mortars were fired from before the insurgents had a chance to move out of the area.

  • @MattHeaven HE just doesnt pertain to artillery only...HE means high explosive and there are tons of platforms that can fire HE rounds....

  • some guy needs to chill at the end if that and calm the fuck down lol, flapper

  • thanks

  • This is probably the Centurion system. Basically a Land version of the Phalanx. Its the Phalanx gun mounted in a truck.

  • It is the centurion system. It is used as anti-mortar/artillery/missile CIWS system aganst Iraq. it has successfully intervened all 105 attacks since the first 25 were deployed in USA's forward base

  • "its the fucking engine???" wth does he mean

  • He's saying "get some fucking eggs in here" cuz he's making omelettes for himself, and doesn't care about the rocket attack and phalanx response, no actually his 50lb testicles are normally left hung out to catch some breeze in the desert conditions, but during an attack he needs the help of assistants to put his "eggs" in an armored codpiece ("here"), and screams at them as they work because they've just fumbled his balls back out. So happens he weighs 100lbs, which makes him half nuts.

  • ha ha,lol.

  • jajajaja you are nuts best comment ever lololololol

  • dont worry army ladys the navy have your back

  • Hey you fucking semen homo. You fucks stay on your boats butt fucking each other while WE do the real work you fucking pussy!!!

  • Yeah you stupid meatheads wouldnt have that anti-missile system covering your heads if it weren't for us "semen homo"s. CIWS came long before CRAM, and we we're the ones adapting it for use on the ground to cover your asses.

Eat a dick mother fucker, we're in this shit together.

  • Dude show sum fucking respect, we are all in dis together, we all need one another an one point, airstrikes from carriers ext...

  • pretty funny, I like it !!

  • maybe the engine wont start

  • whats going on this vid please tell

  • Insurgents firing some rockets at a U.S./U.K. military base in Iraq and the PHALANX radar-guided cannon are firing exploding rounds into the direction of the rockets' expected line of travel to intercept (destroy) the rocket before it hits the base. This video was a very lucky shot to capture this

  • thanks

  • Incoming missiles are being shot down by a CIWS system (that's where the long trails of red explosive rounds you see are coming from.)

  • thanks

  • that fookin alarm still gives me nightmares!! sends a shiver down me spine!

  • Love it, can't really put my finger on it but suppose it all comes down to power projection.

The alarm, the "ripping" sound of the guns...just lovely

  • Lol thats be crazy. Alarm goes off your like

    "what the he-" BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ BOOM!

  • The ammunition explodes because the glowing rounds are so hot. They are bullets though and NOT rockets.

  • are you shore cose there 20mm and they are timed to exploded

  • They detonate because they are HE (High Explosive) rounds

  • Scary situation, im really amazed how many lives can those turrets save. Does anyone know how is the ammunition called? I am trying to figure out how they "program" shells to explode in given distance.

  • Probably a simple timed fuse.

  • Google CIWS

  • *C-RAM

  • @loginvidea The rounds have a consistent muzzle velocity and the riffling of the barrels impart a constant spin rate on each round. The computer translates distance into number of revolutions and programs the round. The round then explodes after set number of revolutions. The process is extremely fast as the only information passed to the round is a single number. If no number is programmed into the round then it is set to detonate on impact.

  • @bcaodp I assumed the individual round is quite expensive, I always though it was just timed, and the guns had a small window to get the fragmentation to get the shells, and the rest of the time they had to actually hit the shell. Interesting. I know what I want in the Zombie Apocalypse.

  • @sargeantatarms yeah the cram uses kinetic energy to destroy incoming fire, not explosives like most people would assume.

  • @zooders Yeah, I am just wondering if it would be more effective to use fragmentation to destroy the shell

  • @sargeantatarms it could be, but then you have to worry about people on ground side of the detonation...there already is enough debris from these, dont really need to add to it

  • Wow, all that ammo must cost a fortune. :/

  • its a lot cheaper then sending a missle at the incoming missle

  • Haha. That's true.

  • cool it looks like a lazer

  • fuken looks nutin like a lazer

  • Crazy. I bet Dr. Gatling never rimagined that his invention would have been used like this.

  • Its the Phalanx C-RAM. Its the land based version of the navy CWIS.

  • Its from a navy ship

  • I was there during this, is there any way to download or save the video from youtube?

  • you can use the youtubedownloader ... just google it, download it, put the link in and save the vid :) very easy

  • Yeah if you use firefox you can use a plug-in called download helper

  • chief's losing it.

  • so was this real life, or just training?

  • @graciousSenor: Real life. C-RAM engaging incoming indirect fire.

  • dey took da AS-90S away half way into my tour

  • awesome vid

  • The sergeant is screaming get some HE in (high explosive)

  • What do they need HE for?

  • So they can shoot back at whatever is shooting at them. It's difficult to hit people with SABOT rounds :P
