To DanChaotic's explanation, they mentioend that his appearance was like Sora's because (story-wise) it developed at the time Ventus' broken heart had merged with Sora's new-born heart. His face changed when that happened.

@AsaMayoko The novels tell more into the characters such as vanitas, like if i recall wasn't such a villain prior to being born out of ventus. It was all the strife and suffering that made him that way. (at least that what I remembered.)

Being well aware of his existance, he questioned why he was born. Every time he felt something, an unversed came to be. @setsitaru Currently replaying in Proud mode to view this Blank Point. My only thoughts are that Sora is not a newborn at the time, around the age of 4, and it could have been Sora's voice, but more likely it is Sora's heart which would contain these memories and not his conscience mind. Hearts speaking to hearts, all connected by a key. Until anything is confirmed, all our thoughts are merely speculation: Nothingness.

@lavangio There's no proof that the "voice" in the begginning was Sora's. It was the same voice that contacted Sora in the first game. It was, more accurately, the whisper of a keyblade. A keyblade that tested Sora's worth in the first game and a keyblade that healed Ventus. Sora gains use of the Kingdom Keyblade after his contact with the voice. The Wayward Wind Keyblade appeared in Ventus's hand after he made contact with the voice. A voice which has no voice; the heart of a keyblade.
@DanChaotic1 Did the voice not say "Hi, I'm the heart of a newborn!" and when Ventus later talks to Baby Sora later on, he references that entire encounter by saying something close to "Yeah I know you helped me before, but...". So it MUST have been Sora, not the voice of the keyblade which your talking about.

A similar scenario happened when Xion used Sora's memories within Roxas to gain her identity in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days.

actually there is a very slight connection between Sora and Vanitas, only through Ventus. When Sora healed Ven's dying heart it forge a connection to Vanitas as well (Since Sora healed the part that was originally Vanitas.) This caused Vanitas (who was theorized to have no face to begin with) to start looking like Sora.
@DanChaotic1 technically incorrect. When Xehanort created Vanitas, Ventus' fractured heart found Sora's. Since his heart interacted with Ventus' first, Vanitas took at appearance. So technically, yes he is.

@kylele23 Vanitas is not a clone, he's the embodiment of darkness rippen apart from Ventus's heart. The fact that he has Sora's face is because Ven's heart connected to his. He probably looked just like Ven before.
Xion (and 358/2 days in general) is a convoluted mess of a storyline invented by SE to make profit and provide Organization XIII fanservice

It explains many things; Roxas, Roxas' TWO Keyblades, Roxas and Axel being friends, and what the hell happened while he slept for an entire year (What, you think nothing happened for the 330 days Sora was asleep?). 358/2 Days was supposed to be a mess of a storyline. The main character was in the dark for the entire story. The bad guy didn't go and tell the protagonist of his whole evil plan. It also establishes the second trio.
If you have played BBS you know Ven's heart is in Sora's, two Keyblade wielders in one heart. This is the reason Sora and Roxas can Dual Wield, not because of some made-up clone from leaked memories...
And the whole "what happened for a year" was completely unnecesary. They gathered hearts, Roxas started wondering about his past life and ther true intentions and left. Axel was his friend. Nuff' said.

Aqua, Ventus and Terra, are predecessors of Kairi, Sora and Riku. They even share some dialogue, and have foreshadowing lines. For me, they are the trio that matters, and the one that was oiginally planned

@Kronosfall91 Truthfully, 358/2 Had a point. Since Ven's heart was released with Sora and Created Roxas, Roxas would dual wield keyblades. Sora would be able to dual wield due to the fact he also had Kairi's heart in him. The true explanation of Of why Roxas couldn't use dual wield/synch blade is because Xion was absorbing him slowly. Not only did Roxas not know how to use the keyblade at first, but slowly learned it in his days in XIII. If you noticed, when Xion became a Final Boss,

When Ventus was broken into two by Xehanort, he borrowed some of Sora's newly created heart to complete himself until the day he could retrieve his other half (Vanitas). Since Vanitas IS Ventus' other half, he took the form of Sora. At first he had no form. SIMPLE. It's in the intro and ending!

@DanChaotic1 no dood, it really was the voice of a newborn Sora that Ventus spoke to. This is proven in the extended ending you can view once unlocked in the game.

@setsitaru Currently replaying in Proud mode to view this Blank Point. My only thoughts are that Sora is not a newborn at the time, around the age of 4, and it could have been Sora's voice, but more likely it is Sora's heart which would contain these memories and not his conscience mind. Hearts speaking to hearts, all connected by a key. Until anything is confirmed, all our thoughts are merely speculation: Nothingness.

*Spoiler Warning*: Vanitas is in no way related to Sora besides being the darker half of Ventus whose sleeping heart resides within Sora. The same sleeping heart provided the persona of Roxas which is why they look the same. The creators found it clever and ironic to make Vanitas look like Sora.

@DanChaotic1 impossible...sora helped heal Ventus's heart and by doing that "directly contacted" Vanitas's heart which is why Vanitas even has a face in the first place.

@lavangio There's no proof that the "voice" in the begginning was Sora's. It was the same voice that contacted Sora in the first game. It was, more accurately, the whisper of a keyblade. A keyblade that tested Sora's worth in the first game and a keyblade that healed Ventus. Sora gains use of the Kingdom Keyblade after his contact with the voice. The Wayward Wind Keyblade appeared in Ventus's hand after he made contact with the voice. A voice which has no voice; the heart of a keyblade.

@DanChaotic1 Did the voice not say "Hi, I'm the heart of a newborn!" and when Ventus later talks to Baby Sora later on, he references that entire encounter by saying something close to "Yeah I know you helped me before, but...". So it MUST have been Sora, not the voice of the keyblade which your talking about.

@DanChaotic1 Agreed, It's a nice way to confrim that the one who shared their heart with Ven when Xehanort was going to leave him on Destiny Island in the intro was Sora, When I first saw Van face, It confirmed my theory on how sora,roxas and ven are connected (and how Sora and Roxas can use two keyblades and how Sora was able to use the Keyblade in KH 1 even though he was not the original owner before Riku gave into the Darkness) THXs for simplfying it all up man xD

@SvenDecarlo Ventus was first taken to Destiny Island, the homeworld of Sora, after Vanitas was created. Master Xehanort was going to leave him there believeing Ventus's heart was shattered. No point before Vanitas's creation did Ventus come in contact with Sora. Vanitas gained his feature's through Sora, after Ventus made contact. A similar scenario happened when Xion used Sora's memories within Roxas to gain her identity in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days.

@lavangio Whatever floats your boat. I found it clever and ironic to do such an underlapping chain of events in the first place. Vanitas was mainly created as a source of villians for the plot; the Unversed. Ventus looking like Roxas was more then ironic and making Ventus's darker side look like an older Sora took it over the top.

@DanChaotic1 no, there was a reason: Tetsuya Nomura says Vanitas looks like Sora is because Sora connected his heart to Ventus's to supplement his missing darkness, and adds that Vanitas's appearance would have been identical to any other character who would do the same. His name is derived from the Latin word for "emptiness," which sounds similar to Ventus's name. In addition, the kanji for "emptiness" is shared with the word "sky," which further connects Vanitas to Sora.

actually there is a very slight connection between Sora and Vanitas, only through Ventus. When Sora healed Ven's dying heart it forge a connection to Vanitas as well (Since Sora healed the part that was originally Vanitas.) This caused Vanitas (who was theorized to have no face to begin with) to start looking like Sora.

@DanChaotic1 technically incorrect. When Xehanort created Vanitas, Ventus' fractured heart found Sora's. Since his heart interacted with Ventus' first, Vanitas took at appearance. So technically, yes he is.

When Vanitas was created he didn't have a face. He only had red eyes like his Unversed but when Ven's heart got connected with Sora's Vanitas gain his face. Also Roxas looks like Ven because when Sora became a Heartless Ven's heart went to Sora's Nobody and gave it's body since Sora's Nobody originally was a Dusk. It's also why Roxas is so emotional and bipolar. Ven's also the reason why Sora & Roxas are able to wield two Keyblades. NOW PLEASE STOP ASKING THESE QUESTIONS! I SEE THEM EVERYWHERE!

I thought that Roxas could dual wield via XIon. He wasn't able to do it until after he absorbed her.... But having Ventus's heart would also make sense....

Sora contains himself, Roxas, Xion, Ventus, and maybe Vanitas (if he is still around). If you could draw one keyblade for every key-wielder you contain, then Sora can pull out 4-6 keyblades (depending on Vanitas, and Drive form).

@kylele23 Vanitas is not a clone, he's the embodiment of darkness rippen apart from Ventus's heart. The fact that he has Sora's face is because Ven's heart connected to his. He probably looked just like Ven before.
Xion (and 358/2 days in general) is a convoluted mess of a storyline invented by SE to make profit and provide Organization XIII fanservice

It explains many things; Roxas, Roxas' TWO Keyblades, Roxas and Axel being friends, and what the hell happened while he slept for an entire year (What, you think nothing happened for the 330 days Sora was asleep?). 358/2 Days was supposed to be a mess of a storyline. The main character was in the dark for the entire story. The bad guy didn't go and tell the protagonist of his whole evil plan. It also establishes the second trio.

If you have played BBS you know Ven's heart is in Sora's, two Keyblade wielders in one heart. This is the reason Sora and Roxas can Dual Wield, not because of some made-up clone from leaked memories...
And the whole "what happened for a year" was completely unnecesary. They gathered hearts, Roxas started wondering about his past life and ther true intentions and left. Axel was his friend. Nuff' said.

Aqua, Ventus and Terra, are predecessors of Kairi, Sora and Riku. They even share some dialogue, and have foreshadowing lines. For me, they are the trio that matters, and the one that was oiginally planned
And Roxas already had his happy ending, living through Sora, and Naminé through Kairi. Together forever, as they promised
So, yes. 358/2 days is a pointless KH, almost as stupid as Re:Coded ._____.U

@Kronosfall91 Truthfully, 358/2 Had a point. Since Ven's heart was released with Sora and Created Roxas, Roxas would dual wield keyblades. Sora would be able to dual wield due to the fact he also had Kairi's heart in him. The true explanation of Of why Roxas couldn't use dual wield/synch blade is because Xion was absorbing him slowly. Not only did Roxas not know how to use the keyblade at first, but slowly learned it in his days in XIII. If you noticed, when Xion became a Final Boss,
