The HK53 is technically an Assault Rifle because it fires a rifle caliber round. A Machine Gun can come in 2 varieties. Like the M60 or M240 that shoots the big 7.62 or like the SAW that shoots the 5.56mm. A Submachine gun shoots pistol rounds, that's correct, but you mismatched a .223 which is also a 5.56 as a submachine gun. Yes the HK53 is short, but it's more of a carbine. So technically because it fires a rifle caliber, it is still an Assault rifle

In my manual it says .223 is actually .224.

The .22 LR is .221 on a Micrometer. The higher velocity .22 caliber jacketed bullets all mic out at .224.

That means the .221 fireball, .222 rem, .223/5.56 (yes,they are the same round), .224, .225, .22-250 all use a bullet that measures .224 across...

The difference is in the thickness of the brass case. Military casings are thicker to take the abuse of being linked, slammed around inside a machine gun, and being slam-fed into a magazine.

Full autos are legal in some states. You need to get the proper paperwork and check with your local law enforcment officer like the chief of police for laws in your area. Also the machine gun has to be register with the BATFE and pay a tax stamp.

Can't just convert a semi to full auto sorry fokes.
