You could say all these cds (the burned ones, anyways; he paid for the first one so that's technically his), which were illegally redistributed, are like the wall of a building of a much-hated corporation. You can't really shun this act and love everything else he's done when it's essentially the same thing.

And it's not like he NEEDS any more publicity, but the thing about graffiti art is that, especially if it's tagged by an already popular artist, it is its own publicity.
