SRV always show how powerful he is. Love him ! One hell of a Master.
If anyone wants to learn to play rock blues or electric blues, well, he's certainly one of the very few Masters one can learn the basics from. Top quality University!
@BluesUnchained this my only bone to pick, imho srv sounded so much better on any of his early stuff- check out live at blue bird lounge. He seemed more expansive/creative and less repetitive. alot of he later 80's youtube audio or performances are kinda the same turn arounds and usual patterns, but here he is so different.

Thanks for sharin' this man...I've got the box set as well..,I'd always heard about the dB level and raw power of SRV, and I thought I understood until this song came blastin' out of my stereo and my head about exploded!
thanks man. i'll work on that. if i would have had youtube when i was a kid, i might be a guitar great myself by now (haha). so much good info. thanks again.
try this, do a full bend on the 1st string 10th fret, then at the top of the bend roll your finger over on the 2nd string and pick the double stop and release the bend slow., work on it you should get that nasty sound.
yeah it's that classic Albert King lick. Albert did it so easily because his guitar had the treble e on top, meaning that when he fretted it, his finger would naturally rest on the b string too, so it'd be easy to bend them at the same time. Such a awesome sound though
I agree buddy.I been to Joe,s generic bar in Austin,TX.Went there all because of Stevie.A guy by the name Mike James back here got his voodoo guitar power. They gave it to the wrong guy ,it's the same name but my lastname is Fetsko.I seen him break a sting and not miss a note.ALL TRUE!
i was living in dc/md and woke up that morning turned the radio on and almost the first thing i heard was the news of SRV called in sick that day..R.I.P our brohter stevie....clearwater beach
Elmo came to your posts after a comment made about Clapton thank goodness I did found loads of un-heard blues. So just letting you know not all English men believe Clapton to be the King of blues. God bless the three kings and the wise man that was SRV
This is why the In Session Album happened!!

i think the bend at 0:09 is the dirtiest thing i have ever heard in my life.
jlkendri 3 years ago 2
yeah that must be one of his favorites he hits it a lot, like texas flood. i think its a double stop and hes bending the top a little.
ElmoLewiss 3 years ago
i have tried like hell to get that sound on a bend but no luck yet. may have something to do with not having those big ass hands.
