I was actually wondering about certain specifics, such as: if you blocked them do they still see your friend request that they ignored and you can't retract, do your private messages get deleted from their inbox so they can't find you, if you have mutual friends and make a comment on one of their posts does the blocked person see that, etc.

As soon as you unblock someone, they don't automatically show up in your feed. Blocking FB friends also deletes them as your friend (which is stupid) so you have to manually add them as a friend again.
