Deborah Kerr met during the filming the screenwriter Peter Viertel, who would become, in 1960, her second husband. It is said that Yul had a relationship with a woman in Vienna and his child Lark was born out of wedlock.
Did you know that the filmings for "The Journey" took place in Vienna? Deborah Kerr and Yul Brynner travelled there in March 1958 and stayed there until the middle of June. Yul made with Anatole Litvak "Alby Pictures" (probably meaning Anatole Litvak Brynner Yul). The only film released by them as producers and by MGM is "The Journey".
Major Surov is killed by his first love, Eva,( Anouk Aimee), who, during his
absence in Canada,.has become a rebel.
The glances they exchange during the film are mesmerizing. Too bad
there was no dialogue in the DVD explaining this.
