@Rich260z To answer both ? at the time that i did the vid i had only put on new tires that are BF Goodrich Radial T/A and are 225/60/14. I still have the stock wheels. I had the stock suspension. I recently upgraded to SP springs and i also had to replace the TC rods. So i installed the Techno Toy TC rods. I'm still waiting to get some Tokico Blues before i take it out again.
Nice, sounds absolutely extraordinary amazing I was always told the cam upgrade wasn't suit for the L28ET but now that I saw for myself I'm going to try it. Thanks for sharing.
@MIZQUITLI Ur welcome! Though my ZX is non turbo u can probably get the same sound from ur Z if u do the same thing without a muffler. I have a HKS Hi-Power exhaust that i'm thinking of installing but i have yet to hear it on a Z. Right now it has a 2.25" straight pip after the 3" cat. I think it depends on wat size turbo u run. But again, glad this vid was helpful.
@ponchoyo Yeah i know. The only problem is that if you are going to tune you will lose mpg. Can't really do both with these old cars. I usually get about 19mpg but that's going easy on the engine. What kind of car is it?? That has a lot to due with too. Well good luck whatever you decide to do.
it's a white 79 280zx NA 5spd. I get like 23-24ish hiway mpg. Really, i just wana maximize mpg first. Right now i'm doing a tune-up of replacing bad parts. It still needs to be ignition timed.
@ponchoyo Well that's about right. The ZX models come with 3.90 rear gears so the rpm in the highway is high. If you want to get better mpg get a 3.55 rear gear and it will help bring the rpm down and the need for fuel! Good luck though cause you will loose acceleration if you change the rear gear.
@ponchoyo Yeah, i still have the 4 lug on the ZX. I don't want to change it cause the wheels that i like are in 4 lug pattern. The wheels are stock turbine wheels. I don't really know the name of the wheel. I have pic's of them on my cardomain account if you want to check them out. User name is the same as this account.
@maingauche36 If you want exact numbers i have a copy on my Cardomain page under the same user name. But basic stuff is a 274 lift and 480 duration on the valves. Hope this was helpful.
do you know roughly how much horsepower your getting with that set up ? I'm pretty much getting te same set up, its in the shop right now should get it back in a few weeks. curious to know how much of hp to expect.
@fordatsun1 Should be about a 25% increase in power compared to stock. So somewhere in the 180'shp, however if you did the exact setup it should be in the 190's. Also, hope if you put the same Lift and Duration cam I used you put new Valve Springs cause you need them with the cam. Check the head number that's on the bottom of spark plug 1. Depending on which head you have can determine how much power you make. Oh, Congrat's on the Z!

nice. the L28 is a suite engine. If your planing on building it though u should really get the 3.1L stroker kit and ITBs =D. Just a suggestion though. Im swapping for an RB25det =]
Nah. I was thinking about doing that but i really dont want to go all out like that. I rather build on the same displacement. More fun for me. I want people with stronger and bigger engines to go up against me. I like twist and turns, not really a 1/4 mile guy. I think it's to boring unless your car can do it at about 150mph. Besides the more power you have up in the hills the slower you go. Well i think so anyway.
Thanks. I only had a little dent on the bottom of the bumper on the right side but you have to get real close to even see it. Also it had a scrape on the very edge of the bumper but like I said nothing really big. About five months go there was grass there. I was going over Taospec Accord vs the Sti. At about 4:27 same corner with grass. LOL.
I like the video it was cool and looked fun but. At the end I was like holy shit!

@raffa824 The year is on the title and yes it's stock. No turbo ALL motor! The biggest difference is at mid to high rpm. That's where the power is.

Thanks. I only had a little dent on the bottom of the bumper on the right side but you have to get real close to even see it.
