This dog does not deserve it's punishment, when a man commits a murder or a rape, do they kill him? No they lock him up and if he's good they let him out. Tsk Tsk.

I am so Pissed at some people comments. Anything with teeth can bit, and people are no exception. To think any living thing is expendable is horrible . We are on this earth to take care of living things not to choose who lives and dies. Not to choose who is OK to live in society or not. This is MAN with to much power. Gino should NOT be put down! The officer put her hand down to pet Gino,obviously when Gino didnt want to be pet,&Gino was protecting himself. When people murder others all they do is get put in jail. But since this is a PITBULL it should be put down. All Pitbulls are dangerous right? WRONG. They are a very sweet dog. Look at Gino-he's scared. She shouldve read the body language. Gino...don't worry sweetie. I love you & I'm supporting you. I really hope you make it and get a second chance.

Chris, wondering, what would you suggest constituting as rehabilitation? Would this guarantee that the dog would never bite again? The scary thing about this entire situation is that the dog did attack, unwarranted and unprovoked..and yes, this is what happened. Even the owners of the dog acknowledge this.

I blame the owners, to be honest, not the dog, but I would never trust that dog around my children--for just a moment!!

"Clearly" a nuisance? Do you know the circumstances and the context around the bite, or is it just an absolute that if a dog's teeth pierce a human beings skin, they must be put down?

@chrisgnv I read the article, and watched the video. In the manner this women was bitten, then yes.. Bites like this shouldnt go unnoticed, brushed off. I doesnt matter what type of dog, or how big it is, if it inflicts such wounds on a human, yes it should be put to sleep. Society has no need for such dogs. There was no evidence suggesting this dog didnt do this..

You didn't answer my question; I was asking about the context of the bite. To me, it looks like it was a 'warning' bite--a snap. There are only 2 teeth marks, and the rest of the red area looks like bruising from the impact of the head hitting her arm and dried blood from the wounds. It is as if she reached her arm to him and he gave a warning bite--most likely preceded by obvious body language. If he had lunged to bite, she would have claw marks and the bite would have been full force.

For goodness sakes, your obviously defending this dog because of its "breed" vs. looking at the whole picture. .Look at the bite itself, that is serious.. That is something that should not be defending when this 58 year old women was simply walking down the street, and suffered such a "warning bite".. This dog is yes "CLEARLY" a nuisence to society, and should not be able to walk the streets again.

An innocent 58 year old woman who is very intelligent.She would not reach for an unknown dog to pet it!The dog charged her from across the street as the child on the other end of the leash could not control him.Look at the picture of her arm one more time....not a "warning snap", a mauling that was not preceded by any other body language then simply walking on the sidewalk across the road from Gino.Take your post down.You are ignorant of the facts of this case!

You are mistaken. The dog did not just "pierce a human beings skin". I know the victim. The dog ripped her forearm from end to end, and the skin hung from her arm like a banana peel as she bled out onto the street. Review the footage again, and you will see too many stitches to count holding the forearm skin back into place. The skin eventually died away and required skin grafting surgery. The victim has been required to keep her arm immobilized, and cannot work. Far more then just a piercing!

Reread my posts, and you will find that to be the truth. I am asking you to have respect for the woman who continues to suffer from the attack, and do not blame her for it. That is all.

If it must be done, than so be it.. Im not looking at this dog as its breed, im looking at it, as just another dog that has been poorly raised by its owners, or lacked being raised.. Unfortunately this dog, did bite this women severely

Should this story represent pitbulls in general? No, i love pitbulls, i love everything about them, but many people are incapable of handling such breed types.

This dog should be put down, fair and square.. Regardless of its breed, this dog attacked a human.

This dog shouldnt be saved because its a pitbull, and your looking to save the breeds image in some way. This dog clearly bit a women, and should face the consequences as any dog would for delivering such a bite.

I dont hold anything against this breed, again i love them.. This dog is clearly a nuisence to society, and should be humanly euthinized..
