Spike TV took what we loved (TNN) CMT is nothing but, MTV country-style (if you want to call it country. This was true down-home country shows. I'm sure I speak
Life seemed so much simpler back then......although I didn't get cable untill about 1986. I was 11 then and TNN was the most watched in my house....miss it very much.
I loved it too. Those early years were So good. How i wish somehow there was a retro TNN shannel or somebody who has ways to get old copies of episodes.
here's hoping RFD-TV eventually finds it's way to more TV sets; it's a small channel that focuses on agriculture but it has several country music programs that air. this is where Ralph Emery's latest talk show airs as well as Crook and Chase...Hee-Haw...Marty Stuart has his own show on RFD-TV patterned after Porter's TV show. Marty's cast include his wife, Connie Smith, and banjo player/comedian LeRoy Troy. Eddie Stubbs, a DJ on WSM, is the show's announcer. i don't have RFD...i wish i did.
ME TOO! TNN FOREVER! It was a SAD day when TNN left & turn to Spike. Those early days (Nashville Now, Fandango, You Can Be a Star, Dancin' U.S.A., Fire on the Mountain, THOSE were WONDERFUL shows. I wish somoen would bring back the channel somehow (a Classic TNN) I don't have satelte so i dont' get RFDTV.
Great stuff, best network in history! I danced on Dancin' USA every time it was in middle Tenn for about 3 years.

"Dancin' USA"? I think that show later went to the USA Network, moved production (and format) to Philadelphia, and was renamed "Dance Party USA".

Don't think its the same Dancin' USA.

There were a few shows that I remember on TNN. A couple of them were "You Can Be a Star" and "Fandango".
trivia202003 2 years ago
You Can Be a Star was definitely patterned after Star Search.

@CadillacL In between in 2000-2003 TNN became National Network instead of Nashville Network.

@gshowguy How about the NEW TNN, The National Network. That brings me back memories of 2002/2003.
