I have listened to this song several times over the past week wondering why it has 250,000 views and if I'm being honest it's one of the worst songs I'm ever heard. The lyrics make no sense. Even if they did isn't not that sad or depressing like the music suggests. I'm guessing the writers haven't written very many songs. The chord progression is identical to Savage Garden's "Two Beds and A Coffee Machine" but they actually did something with it. Not to be an ass, but I would try A LOT harder.

to bralen24 - technically yes (well apart from tone deaf people, in my opinion) but i think that some people just have this special spark that you just cant teach.
As said before, people should stop posting comments about grammar. Songs are a form of poetry, a lyric. And in poetry your allowed make some allowances with some grammar and spelling of words.
And who cares if the guy ma be gay? Still a good song, good voice. He could easily do rap/hip-hop or rock instead of this "wimpy shit."
Poetry, by the same token, is a linguistic art. By all means take license with grammar to make a point, to force a rhyme or to make a line scan properly. It's done all the time. But none of that applied in this instance. This was a simple subject-verb agreement and to say "was" instead of "were" would have made no difference except to correct a grammatical error.
Minor linguistic errors have cost people millions of dollars and even lives. It's all about understanding, people.
Yes. Linguistic errors have caused lives, but have they cost more lives than judgmental, holier than thou behavior? If you're going to come on here and critique others, you should first take a look at your own negative impact on the world. Fair's fair, right?

technically yes (well apart from tone deaf people, in my opinion) but i think that some people just have this special spark that you just cant teach.

You can teach someone to sing but you can't teach how to put your heart and soul in the song.you either have that spark,or you don't.

As said before, people should stop posting comments about grammar. Songs are a form of poetry, a lyric. And in poetry your allowed make some allowances with some grammar and spelling of words.
And who cares if the guy ma be gay? Still a good song, good voice. He could easily do rap/hip-hop or rock instead of this "wimpy shit."

Poetry, by the same token, is a linguistic art. By all means take license with grammar to make a point, to force a rhyme or to make a line scan properly. It's done all the time. But none of that applied in this instance. This was a simple subject-verb agreement and to say "was" instead of "were" would have made no difference except to correct a grammatical error.
Minor linguistic errors have cost people millions of dollars and even lives. It's all about understanding, people.

Yes. Linguistic errors have caused lives, but have they cost more lives than judgmental, holier than thou behavior? If you're going to come on here and critique others, you should first take a look at your own negative impact on the world. Fair's fair, right?
What a pity that you can't just hear a nice song, and enjoy it simply as is.

very well said oneasha. also i don't think songwriters or singers have caused loss of life from their linguistic errors. and what if he used "are" instead of "is" because "is" just didn't sound right with the music and his voice. then it would be poetic license. really who cares.

I have no idea why so many people have said bad things about the song or your singing. I think this is truly inspiring. I'm going to practice singing it myself, although I doubt I'll ever sing as great as you.
