this is all sooo sick! I can't believe that this is a true story from the 1980s! How is army law today in GB? .... and still that stuff about DADT in the US. ....all these patriarchal structures and un-consciousness.....
Every cell in my body wants to scream after seeing that. All I can say right now is 'Thank God I'm Canadian!' Not saying we're perfect, but at least we're better than this
@nicky1811 Agreed. It's ridiculous, the whole fucking situation.
It was fun reading your comments as you went throught the movie. I can totally relate to your thoughts watching this movie. My mind went in overdrive watching it, and your comments pretty much summed them up nicely.
@jessl89 According to the BBC site: Lip Service is due to transmit on BBC Three in Spring 2010. But it also mentions that it's coming soon to BBC Three, so it should be too long from now.
I've not seen this film in years, Thank You for putting it on here PheasantsEye. I am immensely proud to say that Caroline was my Boss when we served in the RMP in Edinburgh together, and she was in my opinion one of the most professional members of the RMP in terms of doing her job and protecting the vast majority of law abiding servicemen and women.
I've never really kept in touch with her which is sad. I can state that I am proud to have known and served with her, and if she ever hears of this, I wish her well for the future. Maybe her efforts helped lead to the situation that is now adopted in the Forces, and would have been unthinkable to her then.
This is horse manure. I'm glad the ban was lifted. Digging into someone's personal life is ridiculous. Considering it shameful and disgraceful to be a soldier and a homosexual is a joke. Back then, the army was no better than the damn Ku Klux Klan or Nazis. A**holes!
I don't understand why are they steal wondering about people sexuality in the army when you know that in uk the right for gay couple are at a much more advance stage that in most other europeen countries ! That's a shame and even more when there is such a big contradiction in the same countrie :-(
fourtunately this film isnt accurate any more. i cant remember when, but the ban on homosexuals in the army has been lifted. there are even famous high ranking gay officers, including a woman named in a recent "Pink List" of influential gay britons.
that's a good news we can only hope that it would be the same anywhere in the world, starting by the abolition of the "don't tell don't ask" policy in the US
thanks for uploading the movie =)

amen to that... i don't have a clue, it would be nice to see total acceptance to any sexuality but I doubt that will happen anytime soon
