  • a big bowl of quinoa with roasted broccoli, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, almonds - and a great dressing: tahini, garlic, ginger, rice wine vinegar, sesame oil...awesomeness.

  • i eat lentils with rice. The rice i made it with curcuma. Some bananas, whole grain bread with some olive oil and steam veggies. Some oat. Water. Nothing process or made in a factory, i prefer to boil my own stuffs xD

    Depending on your height and build, your daily intake should be between 1200-1400 calories. Then you add 'burned calories from exercise' and that figure is the MINIMUM intake per day.

    * exercise: cardio and/or weight training.

    Walking/moving should be a natural part of your daily activities.

    If you need clear rules and can stick to them that's great, but I lost weight when I stopped counting calories, and started looking at what I ate AND drank (A latte fx easily has over 200 cal).

  • you are so great, I love your video's, its inspiring and you are always so calm and peacefully , youre yoga moves are so perfect done. For long time now I was looking to start yoga, and you made it come true! youre hat that you knit is fantastic, I like also to knit and sew :-)

  • we put elk meat roasted on aspen coals with olive oil and oregano on of of toasted ezekiel bread while watching shooting stars and howling at the moon, with a snifter of cognac, here in crested butte co. crested butte, a sunny place for shady people in a town that is very " high" in altitude.

  • Hey if your ever in Bellflower CA, my aunt owns a yarn and knitting store. "Stitches in Time"! She has a ton of different stuff at her store and gives classes as well.

    Its great im 23 and have been knitting since I was 8. Its awesome for weight loss, keeps your hands out of the chip bag...

  • I'm in for the challenge - even though exactly one week later :).

    Today I got back to counting calories, which I stopped some time ago. And I did awfully!

    It's the end of the day, and I ate 2500 calories :'(.

    Breakfast - oatmeal with raisins = 400 cals

    Lunch - soup, chicken, potatoes, vegetables, dessert - 850 cals.

    Dinner - fruits with tea = 320 cals

    I ate another 1000 in fruits at work, pistachios & white chocolate :(...

    Tomorrow I'll be good and be at 1400. I promise.

  • A typical day for me is....

    B= half grapefruit boling water + tuna fish

    L= homemade spelt roll + olive oil

    D=homemade carrot and parsnip soup

    snacks..... dark chocolate and black coffee

  • Coffee is not bad for our body at all. Please check with your doctor before you make that kind of comment.

  • Coffee makes an acidic environment for your organs. This is unhealthy for a number of reasons, one of them being that your organs want to hold on to to fat in order to protect themselves from the acid.

    B: multigrain cheerios, milk

    S: chocolate chip blueberry muffin

    L: Jack in the Box onion rings

    S: cashews, tons of chocolate

    D: spinach, banana, apple, almond milk smoothie

    yesterday was an unhealthy eating day, but today was much better!

  • I'm a knitter too! I think it's a form of meditation. :-)

    By the way, as a new year resolution I changed my usual breakfast to muesli. I already feel myself more energized.

  • Hello, I'm 20 years old, 6'0 ft and 163 lbs. I'm currently trying to gain some muscle. I'm trying a diet with a lot of good carbs and calories.

    Here's what I typically eat:

    7:00am - 8 medium sized pancakes

    10:30am - Pasta with red meat and parmesan cheese

    12:30pm - Rice, meat, salad

    4:00 pm - Pasta with red meat and parmesan cheese

    8:00 pm - A can of tuna

    9:00pm - 500 mL Milkshake with 2 bananas

    I'm trying to cut down on the bread, sweets and on the fried stuff also.

  • Today....or rather yesterday., as i am writing on the 19th.

    Coffee

    wheat cereal+ mixed nuts.

    Salad Ham Sandwich for lunch+ mixed nuts.

    Cupatea

    singapore noodles with preawns+mixed veg.

    Lemon & Ricotta cheesecake.

  • Today:

    Breakfast: I overslept....

    Lunch: two slices of pizza....bad, but I was so hungry...

    Snack: an apple

    Dinner: still deciding what to have

    Breakfast: soy yoghurt, whole-grain cereal, Gala apple, green tea

    Snack: nut bar, grapes

    Lunch: tomato soup, rye bread

    Snack: almonds, banana

    Dinner: tofu stir-fry with vegetables

    Snack: hot chocolate with soy milk, a tangerine

    I think it's a very good challenge! I can't do it this week because I'm sick. I eat the same things everyday (soup and rice) because my doctor asked me to follow this diet... ouch.

    I'll do it next week.

    I love yoga and I love your videos! thanks for sharing tips.

  • Breakfast: Ezekial Sprouted Wheat English Muffin w/ Organic Raw Almond Butter, Tulsi Tea

    Lunch: Smoked Salmon Sandwhich on Ezekial Sprouted Wheat Bread, 4 slices of Organic Granny Smith apples, and Kombucha.

    Dinner: Organic Rissoto (sp?) and shrimp.

    In between meals, I had some veggie chips, and some raw cacoa nibs (which I am not liking at all.) :P

  • @TaraStilesYoga Cheap toaster from a nearby store, and Ezekiel bread stays fresh for a few days! = Ezekiel bread in the hotel room. Totally! I've done it and it's awesome. Just finding your site. Always want to be healthy but stress and readily available bad food at work makes it hard sometimes. Thanks for the help, looking forward to more yoga and healthy eating with you :)

  • Breakfast: 1 Gala Apple, 1 slice of white toast , 1 glass of skim milk and espresso.

    Lunch: Salad with chicken and some mayo. 2 slices of buttered toast (not the usual).

    Dinner: Rigatoni pasta with tomato sauce flavored with oxtail (new dish for me). The oxtail added a nice flavor to the sauce. It wasn't me who cooked this. I just ate it. Thanks.

    bfst: oj/water, 2 zwieback (german melba toast)

    3 apple slices

    lunch: 1 1/2 slice toasted rye bread with liverwurst (yes, I am part german!)

    snack: 1/2 pure milk chocolate bar

    dinner: green salad with kidney beans, leafy greens, oil/vinegar and small grilled bratwurst (holy, heckola, I really sound like a kraut - but I was at my mom's, so go figure)

    snack: goat brie cheese, grapes

    big glass of red wine

  • I've tried organic apples many times, and they always taste like snot. And they're exactly the same organic apples as the one Tara showed. So I don't bother with organic fruit anymore. If it doesn't taste good, it ain't. :<

    Lunch: califlower and rice curry

    Dinner: I ate at Qdoba, and kinda went off my vegan diet for a while...I had thre cheese nachos :( not the greatest, I know. for a snack after lunch I had a small mango smoothie with soy milk

  • natural Oatmeal w/ Raisins and honey with, Pineapples, and oranges on the side.. I made a video of my latest dinner. :). Only drinking WATER and Green TEA!

  • I did bad today. First day back to college so I didn't really think about food. I skiped breakfast, had a chicken wrap and tea for lunch then a cheese and relish sandwich and tea for dinner. I had an apple and a pack of crisps for a snack then another cheese and relish sandwich for supper. I also had a can of 7-up.

    I should have eaten more but I just forgot all day. I'm hungry now but hate eating before bed so big breakfast tomorrow.

    lunch: leftover pasta with ginger ale

    dinner: chicken strips, gravy, fries and toast with apple soda

    I've had water in between meals. I guess my dinner wasn't all that healthy. :/

  • *BREAKFAST - scrambled eggs, whole grain toast with natural peanut butter, and a granola bar mmm...*LUNCH - went to a buffet with a friend and tried to go for the fruit and veggies as much as i could but i gave into some tiger brownies :(...*DINNER - this is the bad one. Two granola bars, a bueno chocolate bar, a medium iced tea and cheese burger from mcdonnalds and some raisins when i got home...

    breakfast: black bean veggie burger w/ mashed red potatoes and vegan cole slaw, green ice tea

    lunch: lemon brown rice and lentil dish w/ vegan cole slaw, green ice tea

    snack 1: an orange

    snack 2: 3 peanut butter vegan cupcakes w/ coffee (I do feel guilt about this particular entry)

    dinner: nothing yet, probably maple spice oatmeal w/ raisins and herb tea

    I did drink a big glass of water in between meals.

  • so far, i had tea with skim milk, granola bar (2 of them, 90 calories each) then for lunch i had, orzo with feta cheese and grape tomatoes, then around 4, i had tall skinny vanilla latte (skim milk) and no sugar....how does that sound so far? lolz

  • So all I have to do is post what I eat? On a typical day I eat these foods: Oatmeal/Cream of wheat English muffin (Raisin) Fruit smoothie (orange juice & various fruit) Beans (Pinto, Red, Black) Wild/Mixed Rice Spinach Broccoli Corn on the cob Water My only real food vice is Dr. Pepper.

  • oh man, it's hard eating healthy at school, that's for sure! but today i've had 3 little gummy fruit snacks packets and a fiberone bar. for dinner, i'll probably have some faux chicken tenders and potato chips since the school's cafe' is closed for the holiday..

  • I'm a knitter! :) I can't tell you what I eat . . . It's bad. Pretty much diet coke, oreos, and grilled cheese. yikes.

  • I'm in! I just ate frozen youghurt with honey instead of sugar (I don't like ice cream..) I really like your hat! Knitting is soothing to your soul.. it would be really fun if you'd post the pattern (I'm eager to knit one myself..) ;D
